Heat, Humidity, and Our Favorite Disney Dog Was a Thug! LINK TO NEW PTR!!

I found your TR from Ali's and I just wanted to let you know that I am here and loving it so far! I just got to your dinner at Artist Point but will hopefully catch up sometime in the next week. Willow is absolutely adorable and takes some great photos! I am excited to catch up and hear about the cruise!
I think we were posting at the same time last night.

Welcome!!! Thank you so much for coming over to join in. :woohoo: And REALLY thank you for even trying to read through the whole thing at this point. :goodvibes

Happy Saturday Morning!

Rainy and nasty here in south Georgia, so I'm getting lots of DisTime;) Was so excited to see another post about the Fantasy!!! By the way, we will be cruising late May or early June 2015. Y'all are probably still in school then, huh??? Too bad our dates won't be the same.

Kind of chuckled when I saw the H2O products ;) Ya know how I love that stuff! Love the fact that the product packaging is much bigger on the cruise  You might have already said this...sorry if I missed it...but what deck/room were you in? And, the seas look super calm! Wow! How nice!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Heather

Love the picture of the empty chair! :rotfl2: I sort of envisioned it spinning around and a cloud of dust following her out the door!
:rotfl2: That's exactly what it felt like! She had been dreaming for months about this exciting new development - getting to leave the dining room with the club counselors. :confused3

That picture of Mickey and Donald is too cute! I am in love with the cruise ships already!
All the art on the Fantasy is so fun - I could spent a whole day just exploring and looking at all of it. And enjoying the disney music playing everywhere too.

Our kids love that horrible boxed mac and cheese too. My mom never made it for me so I think that's why I started buying it for the girls. Now they're addicted...sigh!
I don't even know if that stuff existed when I was a kid! I know for sure I had never seen it until I went to college. I think I've eaten it maybe once or twice in my whole life. I'm guessing Willow must have had it (or something similar) at daycare or something??? :confused3

Your salad and entree look really good! I'm not usually that into the food pics but these look very yummy!
They do a nice job with the food, especially considering how many people they are feeding at each seating! :scared1:

I'm so hungry now!
Me too! :rotfl2:

Great photos of what sounds like a great meal! Loving the empty chair photo. :rotfl2:
It was a great start to our cruise dining! :thumbsup2

I think you're porthole pics are lovely!
Oh, thanks. Willow really wanted to get one of those pics, and I was never happy with any of them.

Where did you go??? I need to know what you did with your kid free time!

I should not post when I'm so tired...
 Coming up soon!!!

All caught up! It nice that you can get a CD with all the pics.Back in 2007 when we went on our cruise you had to purchase them all separately. I wish I had them all!
I think that most people do purchase just one or two pics. The CDs are incredibly costly. I am glad I decided to do it though - I knew I wanted to get family portraits done onboard, so I figured by pre-ordering at that steep price, I would make sure it happened. ;)

Looks like you had wonderful service in the dining room. Its funny that Willow wanted to ditch you for the club. After the go go go of WDW I am sure it was nice to have some time to rest and relax!
I think she was just super-excited about this option that wasn't available at the early dining seating we had on the Wonder. It felt very independent, I think. :thumbsup2

Yumm! Your dinner looks delicious! I had to laugh at the shot of the empty chair, glad to know she was excited to get to the kids club.
 She was very eager to hit that Club!

Oh and to be able to eat dessert in peace and not have to share with anyone. I wonder if I could get a cruise this weekend???
No kidding, right???? I am so looking forward to boarding the Fantasy again in 2015 if things go according to plan.

Quick question: Is there a pre-order for the CD on the cruise or just buy it on board?
I was able to pre-order it. This had not been the case in the past, and I am not sure whether it is possible now. I just happened upon it one night - there is no cost savings at all though by pre-ordering, which was weird. :confused3

Character meets on the ship!! :cool1:
:woohoo: Love those character meets!

Your meal looks wonderful. It's the seafood that would get me!! I would love an entire week of filets and lobster tails.
Oh, me too! Mmmmmm

Loved Willows porthole photos.
Oh, thanks! I never can deal with the lighting situation very well (and am totally incapable of operating my camera even though it's not complicated). That said, the porthole pics on this cruise definitely came out better than on our previous cruise.

Everything on the ship looks so beautiful.
DCL really knows how to make the whole cruise feel like a special occasion.

I love the empty chair picture! I can just imagine Willow ditching you!

Jill in CO
I couldn't resist taking that pic - it was just so funny when I was left there all by myself!

Okay, getting caught up after the trip!
It's so hard to keep up with the DIS when those pesky trips keep interrupting. ;)

Hahaha! Willow asking Minnie where the bathroom was. I think I might do that with a character!
Poor Minnie.

Leave it to Yeti to be a troublemaker. :rolleyes1
You never know what she (I had no idea she was a SHE!) will be getting up to on any given AK morning!

I worked at Six Flags for the first six years of my working life, in the rides department as a lead and supervisor, and guests CONSTANTLY get upset with you like it's your fault that the ride is malfunctioning or having technical difficulties. People can be really ridiculous.
People are just flat-out out of their minds much of the time!

We always had a harsher line jumping policy at Six Flags. Disney is much more lax. We were always told to eject any line jumpers, regardless of if someone else was "holding" their place in line.
I sometimes wish Disney would buckle down a little more….. :confused3

Wow, she really was out of character? Pocahontas wouldn't be worried about getting ant bites. It's called "your job" to stand out there and take photos. LOL.
It really was funny. She was the least in character face character I have ever encountered.

Pasta isn't okay with gluten because of the........sauce.......okay then!
It was at that point that I knew I was on my own at 1900! :rotfl2:

I'm with you. I'll take a crappy character meal at Disney over most meals at home any day.
I wish I was at a crappy character meal right now!

Woah! That cinnamon roll really was the size of Willow's head!
Lucky little Miss Willow!

I'm interested in hearing about Disneyland. :thumbsup2
Awesome! I wil try to just tack it on here. :thumbsup2

This makes me want to take a cruise so bad! It's the one thing that I just haven't done yet.
You need to do it!!!

Happy Saturday Morning!
Hi Heather!

Rainy and nasty here in south Georgia, so I'm getting lots of DisTime;) Was so excited to see another post about the Fantasy!!! By the way, we will be cruising late May or early June 2015. Y'all are probably still in school then, huh??? Too bad our dates won't be the same.
It was snow-snow-snowy here all weekend, so I got a lot of sewing done. Totally ready for SPRING!!!

Oh, that's a shame - how fun would that be??? We are likely to be going in July (if DCL would ever release the rest of the 2015 dates).

Kind of chuckled when I saw the H2O products ;) Ya know how I love that stuff! Love the fact that the product packaging is much bigger on the cruise  You might have already said this...sorry if I missed it...but what deck/room were you in? And, the seas look super calm! Wow! How nice!!!
Oh, we were on Deck 8. I can't remember the room number right now. My memory is pathetic these days…...

Have a wonderful weekend!
We had a great weekend together. I hope y'all had a great one too!

Some Late Night Doings

Saturday, August 17, 2013
Port Canaveral
Sunrise: 6:53AM
Sunset: 7:59PM
Evening Attire: Cruise Casual
All Aboard: 3:45PM
Saturday: Overcast, High 81 degrees
Sunday: Overcast, High 82 degrees

Having been deserted by Willow, I went back to the room to drop off a few things. Our room host (who was WONDERFUL, by the way) had already been there and gotten everything ready for us to turn in.

I didn’t stay in the stateroom long, however. I turned right around and headed out! This was an opportunity for me to see what the adult area of the ship was like! I had read some great things about the bars and lounges on the Fantasy, and I was really interested to see them. Not knowing whether I would have another opportunity, I jumped at it! At first, I just wandered around to get the lay of the land (so to speak) - it was very confusing in there for me to figure out where any given place was.

I considered Skyline, but it was a little too dark for someone who wanted to read (which is what I wanted to do) and didn’t seem to have any seating appropriate for a party of one, and I could not for the life of me find Ooh-La-La. :rotfl2: So I decided to have a seat at La Piazza. This seat to be exact:

There was music.

And it was a neat little place - it is kind of an atrium-type area that you walk through to get to the other lounges but is also a bar in its own right.

I ordered a glass of Rosa Regale and proceeded to relax.

Eventually, I headed up to Deck 11 and got some ice water for both me and Willow to have in the room later.

There are drink stations on Deck 11 where you can get all kinds of self-serve beverages at pretty much anytime. It was very convenient.

There was coffee, tea, cocoa and such on the other side.

So pretty up on deck at night.

This is a cute little splash area.

This guy hangs out at Cabanas - the buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch and then a table service restaurant for dinner (an option if you don’t feel like eating at your assigned time or assigned restaurant).

I headed back to the stateroom with our water. Even the elevator floors are gorgeous.

I took a picture of our door that I had decorated earlier with magnets. (Hey Heather, looks like we were in room 8148!)

By 11:10, I still hadn’t heard from Willow. (Oh, wait! Each stateroom comes with two wave phones - the kids clubs will text you to let you know when your child wants to be picked up. It’s so great!) I decided to go get her anyway. It was late! When I got there she was playing a computer game where she got to drive the Fantasy. She loved that game - she played it a lot on this cruise. She was terrible at it though - she was always crashing the ship! :rotfl2: Willow claimed that no one would play with her; however, she also said she loved it and wanted to go back, so I have no idea what kind of time she really had. It must have been pretty good, or I certainly would have heard from her long before I finally picked her up.

I think we were asleep by about midnight! :scared1: I noticed that I could really feel the rumbling of the ship (engines, thrusters, something?) - it felt like the whole room was vibrating. Just like last time we cruised, I worried that it would make it hard to sleep. It didn’t. As on the Wonder, I slept better on the cruise than I probably do at home. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and after the first night, the rocking of the ship becomes incredibly soothing and tranquil.

Up Next: Willow’s Morning

Looks like you had your little lounge all to yourself!! :thumbsup2
Everything looked very calm and peaceful (for the moment). I really would like to try that Aquaduck!
Love your door decorations. Did you have one of the FISH extenders that I seem to read about when people cruise? Oh wait, I think I remember reading that you didn't do one this time.
I think Willow must have had a good time. Or else she would not have wanted to return, right?

I love her little bed. Just the right size!

The little splash area is very cute.

I think they should offer Club Cool flavored sodas at their machines. ;)

ooooo, I love the lights on deck at night! so pretty and just like being at wdw at night when it's all lit up. that's my favorite time to be there!

if there's someone on the cruise who gets your room ready at night for you, maybe we shouldn't go. I mean, a girl could get used to that and who will turn our beds down for the night when we get home?.....oh yeah, that'd be me....:lmao:

I just can't get over how pretty everything is! and I love the splash area and the pelican from nemo--cute!

the door decorations are so neat! did you make those too?

I did catch up over the weekend! Wayyyy too many things to comment on, so I'll just say that you and Willow are adorable, and her buying you a pillow pet made me melt into a puddle. We always go to Disney in the summer so I understand firsthand the moodiness that can come from the heat and humidity, but moments like that make it all worth it :lovestruc Also, Puffball Yeti rules. Such a cutie.

On to this update!

I love all the stuffed animals on the little bed! I have the Pluto pillow pet and can't decide whether or not to get a Duffy. I realllly want one but it gets harder to justify stuffed animals at age 21.

That bar looks so pretty! I love the lights.

I really want to do a Disney cruise. The only thing holding me back is that I feel like it would be hard to give up time at Disney to do the cruise. Hopefully someday I can get there, though! The ships look beautiful, and I love all the Disney details.

Yay! Adult beverage and book time!!! :cool1: I'm so happy for you!

Looks like the pool side movie was Teen Beach Movie. How do I know that? We've seen it a minimum of 200 times. Maddie has a huge crush on the boy who plays Tanner.

Love the pool pics! They look like so much fun! I've heard that cruise ship pools are tiny though-do you think so?

Cute cute magnets! Good job Crafty Roni! :thumbsup2

O M G!!!!!!!

You were just around the corner from us!! We were in 8626!! With a FULLY decorated door. :rotfl2:
We should have coordinated better, I am sure Willow would have loved some European chocolate!

I loved that photo of La Piazza! That barkeeper became friends with us on our first cruise - he was hilarious. He was the one doing the Italian digestive tasting. (or whatever it was called).

Thanks for sharing - still watching for us in your photos - so far NO luck! :lmao:

That looks like a wonderful reading spot for some adult time!
The ship is so gorgeous! Especially at night. I think a game driving the ship would be cool, however I am not good a video games so I am sure I would crash the ship too!

What a nice night on the ship for you. A little relaxation!

It sounds like Willow was having a wonderful time at the kids club. If you have to go get them to leave, that's usually a good sign! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more!

Christine

Looks like y'all were having a great 1st day on the ship! You even got in some character meets before dinner!

I have to know - did you ever find Ooh La La? We checked it out but never had a drink in there. May have to have a drink next time. Hard to believe I'll be on that ship in 15 days!! :scared1: It doesn't feel quite real yet.

Looks like you had your little lounge all to yourself!! :thumbsup2
There were two or three other parties, but it was very quiet. It was perfect for reading and hanging out peacefully. :goodvibes

Everything looked very calm and peaceful (for the moment). I really would like to try that Aquaduck!
It's funny - I'm pretty sure our cruise was sold out (I was horrified and scared about that before getting onboard), but really, if you do it right, you do NOT feel over-crowded, and just walking the pool deck at night - blissful.

Love your door decorations. Did you have one of the FISH extenders that I seem to read about when people cruise? Oh wait, I think I remember reading that you didn't do one this time.
I have to be honest -with all the autograph book work that I did before this trip, I ended up recycling the door decorations that I had made for our first cruise. (BTW, prepare yourself to see them again in any possible upcoming cruise TR.) I did not participate in a FE - I just could not fathom how I would get all those gifts prepared and then transported to Florida with our already overweight luggage. I may shoot for it next time though, because KARIN always makes it sound so fun! :thumbsup2

I think Willow must have had a good time. Or else she would not have wanted to return, right?
I think she definitely had fun. I think she probably didn't make the connections with another kid or two as quickly as she had on the Wonder (and as she is used to doing), so maybe that affected her attitude a little? I can never understand how quickly she makes friends as it is, so I can see that it may have felt less successful to her if she didn't make those fast connections. Not sure though! :confused3

I love her little bed. Just the right size!
She and all her stuffies were definitely very comfortable!

The little splash area is very cute.
Isn't it??? Totally makes me realize that there would be a lot of fun to be had on DCL even with the toddler age. :thumbsup2

I think they should offer Club Cool flavored sodas at their machines. ;)
:rotfl2: We don't drink soda at all, so that side of the drink station was totally wasted on us (except of the cold water and the lemonade), but if they had offered something that unique, even we would have had to give it a try!

ooooo, I love the lights on deck at night! so pretty and just like being at wdw at night when it's all lit up. that's my favorite time to be there!
Exactly! It's just a Disney thing, right????

if there's someone on the cruise who gets your room ready at night for you, maybe we shouldn't go. I mean, a girl could get used to that and who will turn our beds down for the night when we get home?.....oh yeah, that'd be me....:lmao:
:rotfl2: You nearly made me choke to death there! You are so right! :rotfl2:

I just can't get over how pretty everything is! and I love the splash area and the pelican from nemo--cute!
I could seriously spend an entire day just exploring a DCL ship and taking pictures and marveling at how gorgeous it all is.

the door decorations are so neat! did you make those too?
I did, but I'm not going to lie - I reused the ones I made for our Wonder cruise. I just didn't have time to make any new ones after all the autograph page work. :confused3

You are amazing for reading through all that! Puffball Yeti does rule!!! :rotfl2:

On to this update!

I love all the stuffed animals on the little bed! I have the Pluto pillow pet and can't decide whether or not to get a Duffy. I realllly want one but it gets harder to justify stuffed animals at age 21.
Our house is teeming with stuffies. Those pillow pets are really nice though and useful! You should get the Duffy one. ;)

That bar looks so pretty! I love the lights.
There are so many beautiful spots on the Fantasy!

I really want to do a Disney cruise. The only thing holding me back is that I feel like it would be hard to give up time at Disney to do the cruise. Hopefully someday I can get there, though! The ships look beautiful, and I love all the Disney details.
I felt the same way about doing the cruise. So we ended up doing our first DCL cruise on the Wonder to Alaska during our stay-on-the-West-Coast year (we alternate each year). Of course, now we are hooked, so we have to do both parks and DCL!

Yay! Adult beverage and book time!!! :cool1: I'm so happy for you!
It was pretty sweet! :woohoo:

Looks like the pool side movie was Teen Beach Movie. How do I know that? We've seen it a minimum of 200 times. Maddie has a huge crush on the boy who plays Tanner.
:scared1: I guess I know better than to let Willow watch that one!!!! I can't have another movie around here that I have to see that many times! :rotfl2:

Love the pool pics! They look like so much fun! I've heard that cruise ship pools are tiny though-do you think so?
Lots of pool info coming up pretty soon. But, yes, they are very small. Because we didn't do any ports, we were able to take advantage of the less-crowded times - worked out well for us. :thumbsup2

Cute cute magnets! Good job Crafty Roni! :thumbsup2
 Thank you! As you well know, I made them two years prior when we did the Alaska cruise! :rotfl2:

O M G!!!!!!!

You were just around the corner from us!! We were in 8626!! With a FULLY decorated door. :rotfl2:
Are you kidding me??????? How in the WORLD did we never run into each other. Our door decorations even had our names on them! :rotfl2:

We should have coordinated better, I am sure Willow would have loved some European chocolate!
Well, I hope there is a next time and that we do a lot better. Yes, WILLOW would love some European chocolate. :rolleyes1:

I loved that photo of La Piazza! That barkeeper became friends with us on our first cruise - he was hilarious. He was the one doing the Italian digestive tasting. (or whatever it was called).
Of course you knew who was bar tending - you know every CM on the ship!

Thanks for sharing - still watching for us in your photos - so far NO luck! :lmao:
And I continue to do the same with your pics!

That looks like a wonderful reading spot for some adult time!
It was a lovely way to spend a little time for sure!

The ship is so gorgeous! Especially at night.
It was so quiet and beautiful up there on the pool deck at that time of night. ::yes::

I think a game driving the ship would be cool, however I am not good a video games so I am sure I would crash the ship too!
 I probably would too. If Willow had been driving the actual Fantasy, we would still be beached on Castaway Cay….

Looks like a peaceful night on the ship!! :)
It definitely was!

What a nice night on the ship for you. A little relaxation!
It sure did feel good after all the go-go-go at WDW!

It sounds like Willow was having a wonderful time at the kids club. If you have to go get them to leave, that's usually a good sign! :thumbsup2
I think that's a very good sign indeed! ;)

Can't wait to read more!
Thanks! More coming up right away!

Looks like y'all were having a great 1st day on the ship! You even got in some character meets before dinner!
Hey there!!! You know we had to see our character friends even before eating!

I have to know - did you ever find Ooh La La? We checked it out but never had a drink in there. May have to have a drink next time. Hard to believe I'll be on that ship in 15 days!! :scared1: It doesn't feel quite real yet.
I did find it but didn't get there for a drink either. Maybe we'll have one there together next year!

I can't believe your cruise is so soon!!! And they STILL haven't released the rest of the 2015 itineraries! GAH!!!

Willow’s Morning

Sunday, August 18, 2013
Sunrise: 6:51AM
Sunset: 8:08PM
Evening Attire: Formal
Sunday: Partly Cloudy, High of 84
Monday: Overcast, High of 84

Willow and I were both awake at about 9:15 today, so we managed to sleep in a lot better on the Fantasy. Willow was feeling pretty cruise-happy.

Soon she was ready for some breakfast, and she opted to go to Cabanas - as you may have noticed, Miss Willow loves a good breakfast buffet. She was ready!

Loved the plates!

Cabanas has a ton of different things from which to choose. Here’s what Miss Willow chose:

Yeah, she pretty much ate the donut.

Here’s what it looks like in here:

It is actually huge - the buffet is enormous, and then there are multiple seating areas and drink stations as well.

Love this wall!

Miss Willow decided that she would like to hang out with me and explore the pool deck for a bit before heading to the club. This was an at-sea day, so the pools were going to be getting a lot of use. When we walked by at 10:15, the wait for the AquaDuck was 45 minutes! This is why we did not do the pools on this day, but saved that for the port days. (We never saw the wait for the AquaDuck at more than 20 minutes the rest of the cruise.) Sure is gorgeous up here!

That was about all the exploring that Willow wanted to do though. She was ready for the club! So I dropped her off there and continued on with my morning. ;)

I took a few pictures as I wandered away from the kids clubs.

Some princesses were out:

Don’t panic!!! We would meet them later. ;) :rotfl2:

Up Next: Mommy’s Morning/Afternoon Begins

Oh I wish I could be up there right now! Looks beautiful! What a wonderful morning. The new ships are a lot fancier than the older ones. I really hope to get on one of them someday.
