Hi, just wanted to know what the most heartwarming thing that you have done or that someone did for you at WDW or Disneyland is. It could even just be something that you heard someone telling about on the Dis. I'm just interested to know. Mine is something that I heard on the Dis: Someone carries note cards around the parks to give to kids at character meals that don't have anything to get signed. :goodvibes

From our last trip:

A young lady (early 20's) came up to me at Illuminations and asked if we were staying at WDW for a while. We had just started our trip, so I said yes. She handed me a Disney Dining card and said it had around $20 on it. She said they were leaving and couldn't use it. I called the 800 number on it the next morning and it had $35 on it! :thumbsup2 So cool.

I had just taken my boys to the Neverland Club and was riding the monorail to Epcot to take in the F&G Festival on my own. I shared a monorail car with a family with a MAJORILY crabby kiddo. She was crying that she wanted to be by the door, so I offered to switch seats with them. The mom said what the girl wanted was to ride in the front of the monorail. She kept apologizing for the behavior and I gave her the "hey-all is good. I just dumped my ruggers at the kid's club so I could have alone time-haha" She was completely jealous. We got off the monorail and went on our way. I was walking past SE when I heard someone yelling "Lady!! Lady!! (I am a lady, now??) It was the frazzled mom. She gave me their FP to Soarin' and said "at least SOMEONE can enjoy their evening". She and her DH proceeded to push their DD and DS to a lovely (I'll bet) dinner at LeCellier:laughing:

In line at POTC and charming British couple struck up a conversation with my kiddos, and handed them each a pin-thus starting their pin trading fascination!

Our last trip was light on CM magic (or friendliness) so it was really extra special to have all the guest magic. I try to reciprocate, but like sharing what others have done for us more!!

Fun thread:wizard: I am still jealous, BTW, that you got tagged by starting your TF thread:rotfl:

Last year I was approached by a lady at our resort who asked if I had a stroller for my DS, which I did. What she was doing was trying to find someone to give her bought stroller to, since she didn't want to take it back on the plane. I thought that was nice.

Nov 08, my DS was given some pudding by a little girl maybe a year older than him, he was 2 and a half at the time. Her parents said it wasn't opened and that they were going to the parks and it wouldn't keep and she didn't want it. My DS was very happy and ate it up.

And one that I still remember from Disneyland 1996, back when you needed film for cameras. I was in line to see Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore and a mom was upset because she was out of film for her camera, and had just realized it. Well another lady gave her a roll of film. The first lady tried to give her some money and the giver declined it because she said that a similar thing had happen to her in the past and someone had given her some film and she was just passing it on.

I really think that Disney brings out the best in people. I know on our last day of our first trip with my DS, I took our Disney planning book and just left it at a bus stop at our resort. Now I know that someone might have thought I just forgot it, but I didn't know of a better way for someone else to be able to use it. Because you are scared sometimes to offer things to people and I didn't want to leave it in the room and it just get thrown away. I hope that someone did find some use from it. On one of our trips I wanted to offer an almost full bottle of baby suntan lotion to someone, but again didn't know how they would take it. So I ended up throwing it away, which I hated to do. I wish there was some way that we could share these things with others. Such as something as simple as a few swim diapers that you know you won't need, but might keep a parent from having to pay over a buck for one in the resort store.

Nothing warms my heart like images such as this (below). I found this on one of the photo threads over at the DL Community Board. This picture of the elderly couple on the teacups has stuck with me ever since, and always makes me smile. Disneyland truely brings out the inner child in us all, as this couple shows us. I only wish we all could feel this way (if only on the inside) more often.
I snapped this photo while I was watching my dh & dd on the teacups. This is the magic of Disneyland! It makes you young again.::yes::

I totally LOVE this photo!

This will me me and my DH someday...we will be a couple of white-haired, mouse-ear-wearing goofballs flinging our dentures around in the teacups.

This photo made my day!

:cool1:

I was waiting for the bus for Magic Kingdom at the Beach Club, I was heading out for a MNSSHP when I saw a family taking pictures. I asked the mother if she wanted me to take their picture with their camera so that the whole family could be in the picture. A second family asked if I would do it for them as well so I said yes.

I've been taking my niece for the past 3 years to Disney. I collected some extra items for my niece to hand out to other children in the parks. The first year it was mostly I Spy Bottles that I made. No baggage fees then. One time my niece gave one to a little boy sitting next to her waiting for the parade to start. After the parade the mother tried to hand the I Spy Bottle back to me. I told her it was for her son. Another day, my niece gave one to a family that was waiting for their food (Dad had gone to get it), the mom was quite happy to have something to entertain the kids while waiting.

The past two trips we have brought little bubble containers, glow braclets, Halloween slide puzzles, plastic animal finger puppets, spinning tops, etc.

Last year was the first time my niece was really getting into handing out the toys on her own. I even had to call her back at Epcot before Illuminations started as she was wandering off so far to hand out toys. When I asked her why she had gone so far, she said she was looking for girls to give them to.

One night on the bus ride back to Pop, she gave out some toys to a family that had dinner at CRT. One of the girls gave my niece her wand from dinner.

Can't wait to see what her younger sister does this year. She's nothing like her older sister, so she will probably have no trouble walking up to another child and hand them something.

We had fast passes for Space Mountain on a busy Saturday but they were for later that night and the kids were getting tired. So we turned to a group of teenagers on line behind us at Laugh Floor and asked if they wanted them. They were a big group - but so were we! We gave them 6 FPs and they high-fived each other with glee! Maybe they'll integrate the Disney Magic and carry it with them onwards:goodvibes

I love reading these stories of Disney magic! :goodvibes

On our last trip we were in Hollywood Studios and stopped at guest services. One of my DS's teachers had a sister that worked there in guest services so we went to say hi. Unfortunately she wasn't working that day. We stayed for a few minutes talking to the CM. Then she told us to wait and she went away for a few minutes. She came back with special fastpasses for TSM good anytime that day. Well we had just rode it 3 times in a row (it was early in the day) and decided to give them to another family. We came across a single mother and her 2 young children. This was their first trip and her kids loved Toy Story. So we gave them the fatspasses. The look on their faces was priceless!

By the end of our trip we had accumulated several bottles of juice, water, and choclate milk thanks to DDP. There was no way we were taking all these bottles on the plane so we found a family in the food court and gave them our "stash". We had about 10-12 bottles. Turns out it was their first day. We love spreading the Disney magic around! :)

Im not sure if this is exactly the same but here goes.
My dw is an rn and a couple years ago she was asked to be one of the medical staff to help look after a few kids from dreams takes flightonce a year up here in canada they fly a group of ill or kids who come from families with hardships , down to wdw for the day at mk. They take the kids over to toronto the night before and have a big party in one of the hangers at the airport. Early the next day they fly down and get special transportation from the jet to mk and spend the day there then fly home that night. My wife had about 5 kids to look after on the trip. It was a very heart warming day for all involved, my dw will never forget.

Best picture EVER!!! :lovestruc

On our last trip my DBF and I lost our wallet somewhere in Animal Kingdom and realized it after we got off of Kali River Rapids. The wallet had money, KTTWC's and Fast Passes! We went to guest services and they gave us complimentary Fast Passes for EE since we lost ours and there were no more Fast Passes available. We were going crazy trying to find it after waiting an hour or two it showed up at Guest Services, one of the CM's found it and and turned it in with everything still intact! We then headed back to EE and saw a couple op people upset because EE had no more Fast Passes, I walked up to the couple and offered ours since we received comp. ones. They were very appreciative!

A few years, ago I asked two work friends to join me for the week. Not long after, one of the other girls in our office lost her dad and her whole world seemed to just topple around her.

Since we had already paid for our trip, it was fairly inexpensive to add her on, so we split cost three ways and surprised her by asking her to join us.

The first few days, while we were giggling like a bunch of school girls, she just didn't seem to get IT. IT just didn't seem to sink in.

About mid-week, we were sitting on the curb on Main Street and the parade started. Goofy came by and waved right at her, and she turned to me and said, "IT really is real!!!!"

Priceless.

Awesome story! And that picture above is amazing.

The most heartwarming thing at Disney happened to me on our first visit there in 1980. My dad was on a business trip to Orlando and took my brother, sister, mom and me there for the trip. He had taken us to the Polynesian Resort for dinner one evening and we rode the monorail for a long time. A couple days later we visited the Magic Kingdom, which was the only park there at the time. It was a long day, my dad rented a Polaroid camera for the day and took many pictures. There was one thing missing, we hadn't met Mickey yet, in fact, we hadn't even seen him. At the end of our long day, my brother and I were standing in front of Cinderella Castle, posing for a picture, when I felt a very large hand on my shoulder, it was Mickey, he had come up between us to get in the shot. I almost cried, I have cherished that moment my entire life. It happened when I was nine, now I'm almost 39 and I have been to the Magic Kingdom at least 25 times and I have never had an experience like that before. Disney really is a "magical" place to be. Thanks Mickey for that wonderful moment to end my first day at the Magic Kingdom. It really was special.

On a trip we took last year we were at AK and over at Camp Minnie-Mickey, it was about an hour before closing and we had met all the characters and everyone who was back there was either with Mickey or Donald, so Goofy came out of where his line would lead and hung out with my little sister (2 at the time) for an hour just messing with her and her stuff. He took her snake plush that she won at Dinorama and pretended he was a ghostbuster and took her soda and drank and all sorts of things for about an hour and at closing Donald walked by and Goofy kept playing with my little sister and wouldnt leave, they almost had to drag him away. My little sister afterwards looked at me and said "Thats Gooby" It was so funny and cute I could have died. :goofy:

Thank you all for sharing your stories. I am having a pity party day and reading this thread just warms my heart!

Here is my most memorable and special moment at WDW. My family teases me constantly about my obsession with Disneyworld. They just don't "get it". Anyway, 2 years ago, my 70 year old father suddenly announced that he would like to go to WDW with my daughter and I. We went in December of that year and on the 5th anniversary of my mom's death, we walked down Main Street. While watching Spectromagic that night, which is my favorite parade at WDW, I turned to look at him and he is screaming at the top of his lungs..."Hi Mickey! Hi!" and waving like no other.

He "got it". I started crying right there in the middle of the parade!
