Heart fluttering or vibrating?

They checked my blood at the regular doctor; I know at least for anemia and platelets(in March that count was low) Both were normal.

As far as caffeine, I drink one diet mountain dew every day--that's it. Same medicines every day--ibuprofen, flonase, claritin and Vitamin D(that was low in March as well), so I don't think it's meds.

I will definitely post after I get the results of the 24hour monitor.

Marsha

tachycardia, palpitations, and SVT's can all be a potential side effect with Claritin.

This may sound strange but do you eat or drink things with Splenda. I was using one packet of Splenda each morning in my coffee. After a few weeks, I noticed my heart would flutter every once in awhile. It started to happen more often so I did a search on the internet and found others where having the same problem. I stopped using Splenda and haven't had a flutter since.

I hope everything turns our fine after your tests.

I've had strange palpatations for a couple of years now. Mine start out fast and then go to a really slow, exaggerated beat of the heart and you can actually feel it if you put your hand on my chest - it's almost like how they show a slow heartbeat in a cartoon. They usually happen in 2 's or 3's.

They got so bad in April that I went to the ER in the middle of the night. They hooked me up to an EKG, took chest x-rays, had urinalysis & bloodwork done - all of which showed nothing abnormal. The ER dr said the good news was that I was fine, the bad news was that they didn't know what was causing them  so they chalked it up to stress. I was going through a really stressful situation at the time and once the situation was resolved, the palptations slowly went away. Every now and then, even if I'm not stressed, they come back for a day or two though so I'm not sure what they are from.

OP - I hope you get this figured out soon.

I get those feelings on occasion. I talked to my doctor about it, and she didn't seem concerned about it at all. Of course, I don't get it all the time like you.....just a time or two in a day for a couple days and then not again for many weeks or months.

How old are you? I only ask because I recently went through the holter monitor adventure for my irregular heartbeat. Turned out mine seems to be harmless as well, but one thing I found out in my research is that menopause/peri-menopause can bring on some of these symptons. For me I have to be careful of caffeine during certain times of the month. I also added fish oil pills to my daily vitamin. Good luck!!!

I have been taking Claritin for 10 years, so I really don't think it's that. I hope not, because I have to take it every day OR get rid of my 4 cats.

I am 38. I had my female hormones tested a few months ago, and was told I was not showing any signs of menopause coming any time soon.

Are you taking any other meds, supplements, herbs or life changes that may accidentally interacting with the Claritin?
