Healthy Quick Service Options?

I am hoping to get free dining for our trip in October, I can't really afford to upgrade us to the TS plan, but will be THRILLED to have the free quick service dining! With a little one at home, I need to save as much money as possible.

My question is, are there healthy options to be found with the quick service plan? Are there more than just burgers and chicken nuggets, especially at the parks?

Thanks in advance for your feedback, I'm new at this! :)

there are plenty of healthy qsdp options now (so much different to what was available when we first did WDW in 2003 when it was basically burger or nuggets all the way.)

Some of our favourites are:
MK - Pinocchios Village Haus - the med salad or ceasar salad, Dressing on the side so you do or you don't whichever you prefer.
MK - Columbia Harbour House - the broccoli slaw and hummus sandwich is amazing.

Gasparillas Grill - great choice of wraps and sandwiches with side salads.
Mara Grilll at AKL - roast chicken, prepared salads and fruit cups and other fruit choices for pudding
Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary - fantastic chicken ceasar salads choose tossed or not. In my dd opinion the best fruit cups at WDW (afraid I had a cupcake for pud here)

DTD - Wolfgang Puck Express? Never sure which one it is but next to the Xmas store. They do amazing salads ( a wonderful chicken curry salad - I can almost taste it now) and options such as roast chicken and mash as a cs credit.
Earl of Sandwich - some great sandwiches, sides of salad/slaw and fruit cups.

Everywhere you go now there is at least one decent cs option - enjoy

chocolateMinnie, thank you so much for your tips, I will jot them down! There seem to be more selections than I thought, I'm excited!

PS--We both start our vacations on the same day! :)

A few more...

Barbecue Chicken Salad at Flame Tree in AK
Anchors Aweigh Sandwich (tuna) at Columbia Harbor House in MK
Salmon at Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD Marketplace
Most items at Tangerine Cafe in Morocco in Epcot
Sushi from Japan in Epcot

There is definitely more than just chicken nuggets and burgers.
Healthy options aren't that easy to find though --- Even the salads tend to be loaded with cheeses, etc.
But you can definitely find variety, and find items that are "less unhealthy."

Didn't notice that you would be there the same time as us - I can't wait! - happy planning :thumbsup2

One of my favs is Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT. Lots of good choices there.:)

DHS - Backlot Express has a vegetable sandwich and Starring Rolls has yummy sandwiches

MK - Columbia Harbour House has a great tuna sandwich

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons has a nice salmon platter and Morocco cs has healthy platters

DTD - WPE has many options

AK - I've got nothing sorry

I have a QSDP report going from our Oct. 2011 trip and I didn't eat one burger. My DD12 only had one-the Angus one from Pecos Bills. You can read my report for our different meal options if you would like-link in siggy.

Quick note-we were very impressed with the salmon served with brocolli and couscous at CHH in MK. :goodvibes The brocolli and couscous is even available with a SC.

For some healthier or at least more interesting choices...

AK - In addition to Flame Tree Barbecue, the last two years we've gone to Pizzafari. They have some really tasty sandwiches there; it's not just pizza.

DTD - Wolfgang Puck Express is (one of if not the) best uses of your quick service dining plan. That place is awesome.

MK - As above, I like Columbia Harbour House for some interesting choices.

EP - Sunshine Seasons. I haven't been to the new Katsura Grill but the previous version Yakitori House was a good choice.

DHS - I like Backlot Express and Starring Rolls, and the ABC Commissary just got a good review on the DIS Unplugged podcast.

Also check out the choices at your resort. We've been really happy with the sandwiches at Pop Century.

Thank you all for chiming in with your tips! I've been eating very healthy since last month, and I love the way I feel. I know when I go to WDW, I don't want to feel sluggish from fast food, so I love knowing there ARE options out there!
