Just got this email from Dollar.....
"The Dollar Express Terms and Conditions have been updated to include a new way to refuel. After January 6, 2016, your next rental utilizing the Dollar Express Program will constitute your acceptance of the amended terms and conditions.
Sometimes, the last thing you want to do before returning your rental is search for a gas station to refuel your tank. That’s why we created Express Fuel™ — so you don’t have to. You can drive up to 75 miles without refilling the tank for just $13.99.*"
What this means is that if you rent a car and drive less than 75 miles, you will automatically be charged $14 UNLESS you how them a gas receipt, or have purchased the refuel option.
Given current gas prices (under $2/gallon) and most cars mpg (~30), this is obviously not a good deal. So be careful--if you refuel within 10 miles you should be okay. But it can be a sneaky way for them to generate revenue. Here's a link to the FAQ
