I think I'm going to head on up to the lake tomorrow, instead of waiting till Thursday or Friday.. Made arrangements with my stepdaughter (for her Dad aka my DH) and talked to my DH about it this evening.. He's worried over how upset I was last night and told me to just go - and not come back till I felt I was ready.. Nice offer, but I won't stay away too long - probably just till Sunday..

I think I need to be alone right now for a few days before my DD, her DH and my granddaughter get up there.. No place better to "think" than those mountains and that lake.. ::yes::

Went to my granddaughter's "Moving Up Day" today and it was awesome.. Makes me kind of sad that she's growing up so fast, but life marches on.. I ended up buying her the cutest little camping lantern.. It's purple and looks like a Coleman Lantern - about 8 or 9 inches high.. It's battery-operated and has a tube that goes up the center where the light is.. Here's the neatest part though - you push this button and it makes noises like crickets chirping and mosquitos buzzing around inside of it! I told her I had a "surprise" for her graduation - something for up to the lake, but she could have it today if she wanted it.. She chose to wait until she gets to the lake, so now I have to wait to see her reaction..

Thanks for all the support, hugs, and kind words in the middle of the night last night.. Can't think of anyone I could have called on the phone at that ungodly hour that wouldn't have wanted to kill me for doing so.. LOL

Hugs,
C.Ann

I just wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear about your DD's friend. That business with the Health Care Proxy really made me so angry, I can only imagine how you must have felt.

I hope that your DD is doing ok . You enjoy the lake. I know how the mountains and the lake can really ease your soul when things are rough. I spent all my summers on Lake George and I can remember just floating in the water and letting all my worries just float away too! In fact, that is the "picture" I use to this day when I am feeling stressed. I just imagine I am at the Lake and I always feel better.

My best thoughts to you and your family!

Well, I'll say a few more prayers for over the next couple of days. I hope you're able to relax a little too. Keep your chin up! :)

I hope you get some much deserved and needed rest. My thoughts always turn to the Lake when things feel overwhelming. How lucky we are to know such wonderful places! My lake is Table Rock in MO. Where is yours?:D

Yep, get some fresh air, calm your nerves, and relax.

"My" lake is the Great Sacandaga Lake in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains..

Just a skip, hop and a jump away from Princess Dot's "lake"!!

I've been going there every summer since 1952 and I've got to tell you, that seems more like "home" than here..::yes::

Getting back to nature has a way of soothing the soul and I'm sure I'll feel 100% once I get there...

Have a fun time at the lake and let us know what your granddaughter thought about the lamp. Sounds like something my daughter would like.

Maybe 68,100 anyway.;)

I saw that lantern a couple of years ago and it is real cute.:) Your granddaughter will love it.:)

C.Ann don't you just love the feeling when you drive up to the lake road. I always feel so "at home". I guess it helps that it doesn't change. The water, trees, sounds. All are always the way I remember them, even from when I was little. I love that my kids are now finding that same sense of community there. You get to share it with your DD and your DGD, too cool! I wish I was headen out this weekend too. Enjoy!:D
