We started Disney Nights last Sunday-right at our 2 month mark. After all the excitement this week, I never got around to posting the pics. Last Sunday we did a Lilo & Stitch Night and tonight (with Lexie in tow) we did a Princess & The Frog Night.
The girls waiting for some food....
A close up of our table. Excuse me while I go OT for a moment: my Dining Room table was my Grandmother's-I ate at it as a little girl and now my little girl's eat at it as well. Everytime I see a picture it makes me think, "we could really use a new dining set". I just can't bring myself to do it when I get to the furniture store. That old set has a lot of character. 14 kids, 37 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren dined there at one time or another before I got it. Would be a shame to see it go...
The girls put on their bathing suits and I had bought them some grass skirts from our dollar store. We put on some lei's and we were dressed in true Hawaiian style!
For our meal we had some Ohana fare: grilled steak, veggies, noodles, and mushrooms. Inspired by Alicia (cinderella crazy), the girls and I made some chocolate covered strawberries and added some pineapple for another flavor. To drink we had some light Hawaiian Punch. I put it in some bright colored cups and put umbrellas in the drinks. The girls loved the umbrella's.
After dinner we made some shell bracelets and necklaces...
After the craft we played Disney Scene It 2nd edition. This game is a little big for Josie but she plays along well and it's great practice recognizing numbers and counting out spaces. After Lindsey kicked everyone's butts it was actually her bedtime and we didn't get to watch the movie...I'm terrible I know. Lindsey didn't mind though...she had a wonderful time celebrating our upcoming trip.
Tonight Lexie came over for a sleepover. We are still in process of our Princess & The Frog Disney Night. I got each of the girls a Tiana shirt to wear with their jammie bottoms. Here they are ready to dig into their food-don't mind the messy-girl hair. We had softball school this morning and it was beautiful outside so we have been riding around with the windows down and playing outside all day.
I didn't take a good pic of the table but you can see some of our decorations in the pics-got all this stuff (wall hanging, tablecloth, plates, centerpiece, bead necklaces) at our dollar store for $6 total.
Anyway, for dinner we had Gumbo (vegetable soup), grilled cheese (just cause), beignets, cream puffs, and Prince Naveen's Punch (Hi-C). Everyone enjoyed their meal. After dinner we colored our own frog princes.
Notice Josie's chocolate smile.....cream puffs.
Here are the girls with their princes...
Right now they are watching the movie! We've had a good night. Next weekend Joe will be home again....he hasn't told me what Movie he's picked as our inspiration. I'll keep ya updated!
