~He didn't drink the Kool Aid.. He bathed in it!August TR~12/13 PG45 The End

What an awesome day!! :thumbsup2 You guys had the most pixie dust I've ever heard shared on the DIS before! I can't believe that was only part of your first day there! :lovestruc

It sure was!

We were given an incredible amount of pixie dust that trip and we will always be thankful for the wonderful CMs who made our trip so amazing! :goodvibes

I googled flag ceremonies to see "why" we lower the flag but all I could find is thtat the US flag is flown from "dawn til dusk" unless it is located where it can be illuminated throughout the night.

It's interesting how different countries have different rules about there flags. The dawn til dusk rule only applies to Canadian ships in foreign ports.

It is interesting. Since we live so near Windsor I think of Canada and the US being very, very similar.

Wow! What a special day. EVERYTHING about it! What an honor for your family. Those pictures were so precious! Love the Bride and Groom Mouse Ears. I want those with my future guy, they're just too cute. Can't wait to see what's next!

It was an amazing day!

The ears are really cute and they don't come cheap. I think its around $40 for the set so a very nice and appreciated gesture! They plan to wear them on their wedding day AFTER the ceremony :)

What an amazing day!! I got a little behind....had to go back to the Plaza. The picture with Chucky made me jump! We had a staring kid at Crystal Palace but not so creepy (thank goodness!!).

The proposal picture with Mickey and Minnie has to be one of my faves!! :thumbsup2

There are no words for the Flag Ceremony post so leaving it at that!! But I love the ears they gave you guys!

I think this day has definitely lived up to the whole Disney Memories theme! :yay:

What a beautiful ceremony! You guys all look so proud of Josh. He must have been so honored!

How cute that they got bride and groom Mickey ears. The photos are fantastic and too funny! :goodvibes

That little boy wasn't as creepy as Chucky but he was creepy and did scare us

I love that picture with Mickey and Minnie. I have used that one a lot as I've made their save the date cards, personalized stickers for the invites and even on a few Christmas surprises :)

It was so nice and unexpected when they gave them the ears! We were blessed with lots of pixie dust! :goodvibes

We were and he was! :goodvibes

They had a lot of fun with the photographer! :)

Oh I just KNEW you would be a real princess at Disney World Caitlin! I read your mom's post about starting the day at CRT, and just knew by the hints that this would be an amazing post. I am still reading (and catching up) but have to say CONGRATULATIONS to you both. What a beautiful sweet thoughtful and romantic way to propose. The slipper is just priceless, and the penguin reference is great.

(off to read on...and get more tissues now)

Dawn your post had me even more sniffly and crying than Caitlins! I can so understand, even though my princess is 8, the emotions going through your heart through all of this. One can only hope for Mr. Right for their little girl, right?

Now I just finished reading Josh's post -
WOW
I just love how much thought you really really put into what would be the most meaning ful, and to tie in both your proposal and the Flag Ceremony in one day -- definitely an over the top day to remember. I can't wait to read the rest of your first day but don't want to rush through and its nearly midnight so I'll have to finish another day.

My BFF's hubby is in the Army for 23 years, and we are planning an grown up trip next June - I am hoping we can get to MK early in the morning so that he can also participate in this. My BFF served 8 years in the reserves, and he has 23 years and DH is a police officer, so like you we have the utmost respect for our flag and its symbol of pride and freedom for our country. Thanks for serving!

and BTW, I DO see that little smile heading of to Pirates in Caitlin's next post ...ya gotta know what to look for in a face used to looking serious.

G'night!

Thank you!

It was an amazing day! Every time I see pictures of the Castle now all I can think of is "Wow that's where he proposed" :cutie:

I loved all of the thought he and my parents put into making this special for me :goodvibes

Hey everyone! It's been busy over here with work and school and my birthday is this weekend :woohoo: On Sunday I join the 21 year old club!!! So excited for Lapu Lapus next trip!!!! Josh is doing very well too! He is already out of his sling and is going to be starting physical therapy in the next two weeks! Now back to the trip report!

When we got back to the room Josh and I went to the pool for a bit then headed back to get ready for our dinner at Ohana! Since we had added an extra day and the dress I was planning to wear to dinner that night would be needed as an outfit for another Josh gave me the t shirt he made me

disneyday2summer287.jpg

It turns out I don't have any better pics of this shirt but on the top it says Josh and Caitlin. With Mickey and Minnie kissing and on the bottom it says Happily Ever After and After That :cutie: Yes he made himself a matching one and begrudgingly wore pink  Also when he was making the shirts he asked for a kid's large for me and the woman working behind the counter found this quite strange  My mom had to assure her I was in fact 20 and this wasn't some odd arranged marriage

My mom also gave Josh and I an engagement present and decorated our window with engagement items

I had talked about these being our wedding cake toppers but we won't be having a cake so it's a moot point now.

We finished getting all gussied up and headed to dinner! We were very anxious to be eating here again! It is definitely one of our favorite restaurants, along with many of you on the DIS, and we had been having withdrawals since we didn't get to it in May.

We got there early and looked around

disneyday2summer286.jpg

While we were waiting for our table we decided to introduce Josh to the Backscratcher!

disneyday2summer288.jpg

My dad loves this drink and was excited to share it with him! Josh looks pretty "excited" doesn't he

disneyday2summer289.jpg

Then Josh had to feel up on the Tiki god

disneyday2summer290.jpg

It is all blurry because he was afraid of the Disney Police coming after him

We had specifically asked for a Caitlin's Castle TM view table and they granted our request!

Our food started coming out and these are the only pictures I have

disneyday2summer295.jpg

disneyday2summer225-1.jpg

We all enjoyed the food and while we were devouring potstickers and noodles the Magic, Memories and You Show started! We couldn't see much and due to the amazing Photopass Photog we had earlier in the day we were pretty sure we were on my Castle so every once in a while we would be like "Oh there we are!"

Josh enjoyed it even though it wasn't up close and soon after Wishes started!

disneyday2summer226-1.jpg

The music was piped in and we could see all of the fireworks and it was very magical! We all enjoyed it and got misty eyed :cloud9:

We continued with our food and Josh filled his stomach to it's breaking point with all of the meat  Not kidding! Josh still talks about how horrible he felt afterwards  We have discussed him asking for his own skewer next year but he says that wouldn't be enough

Then it was time for dessert

disneyday2summer228-1.jpg

We were also given a special celebrating cupcake

disneyday2summer229-1.jpg

disneyday2summer230-1.jpg

Now this is when things took a turn for the worse :sad2: Yes I hate to admit it because I would love for everyone to think we had a perfect day but I am going to be real with you. People get hot, tired, overwhelmed, and overstimulated. We ended up being one of those people. All four of us. I deleted one of the pictures of us because I didn't like it and the three of them got upset and then I got upset then we all were upset. It ruined the end of dinner. Josh and I ended up going off along the boat dock to talk to each other about why we were upset and after about an hour we were ready to move on. But first more pictures

disneyday2summer296.jpg

We came back to the Poly later on in the week and there were clothes hanging from the Tiki's hand  We wondered if this picture had anything to do with it :confused3

disneyday2summer299.jpg

:sad2:

We thought we could make it to Winter/Summerland putt putt course (miniature golf course) before it closed so we headed out. So we get into the car. We are driving along being all happy again then Josh gets a look on his face.

"Babe is everything okay?"
"There is a spider in the car"
"Okay?"
"We need to pull over. There is a spider in the car and I need to kill it!"
:scared1::scared1::eek::eek:

He is freaking out at this point and we pull over at Coronado Springs. Josh proceeds to look around for the spider then starts patting at himself thinking it is on him. His face is hilarious and we all can't stop laughing at him.

This video sums up how this scenario went down

http://www.nbc.com/parks-and-recreation/video/spider/1366080/

He finally kills the spider  My hero  and we continue on our way. Well when we get there we find out it closes at 11. It was 11:13 :sad2: Our spider debacle made us late  So we headed back to the hotel, grabbed a couple drinks and got to bed :cloud9:

:rotfl:
Loved the video scenario you posted. Can totally relate to the response, my daughter acts that way when ever spiders are involved... too funny.
Loved your honesty on the picture incident, and everyone being mad. lol... I can not tell you how many times this has happened in our family.. made me smile. ;) Its the very reason I dont get in the picture any more.

Love Ohana, and your terrific view!

Happy Birthday Early! Hope you have a great day

:rotfl: about the spider!! My guys are like that about spiders. I have to be the one to kill them. But when it comes to bees:scared1:

Don't worry - I totally understand. The last two days of my vacation in February were on and off overtiredness/being upset.. mostly coming from me :rotfl: It happens. I hope that we can avoid that on the December trip.
I love Ohana though! YUM! I can't wait!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it again! I bet Josh loved the meat! hahaha

Still waiting for the video to load, so while I wait for that, I figured I would write my response.

Yay for Ohana! Love it and how good it is! So much food. And I love that dessert..... drool.

Sadness about the fight, but hey, it happens. It was really hot in August, so I can just imagine it.

Cute tshirts.

I hate spiders, so I am happy that you have found someone who will get rid of them without being asked. :thumbsup2

Glad Josh is recovering nicely from his surgery and Hope you have a great Birthday!

Ohana is on my list for places I want to try, I think it looks so good and my DH will love it because he LOVES potstickers! (as well as the all you can eat part of it! LOL) :thumbsup2

Those matching shirts Josh made were so cute!

I found it hilarious! My mom found it on NBC and when she saw it was like "That's how Josh is!"

Yeah I figured everyone has had some sort of issue at Disney and when it is super hot in August the anger flares up too :sad2:

We loved it! It definitely made the night special :thumbsup2

Thank you! I am super excited!

We all had a good laugh at that!

I am not really afraid of any creepy crawlies but when it comes to clowns or ET that's when I freak out  I came home from school the other day and I watched Josh change the channel before I walked in and he looked at me and said "I was watching ET and knew I had to change it"

If you are up as early as we were then trying to cram so much into a day it can get a bit overwhelming

In December you should be filled with the Christmas spirit so I hope it isn't an issue!

Josh loved that meal and it was one of his requests for dinner next October :thumbsup2

Ohana is so good! I love the potstickers and the wings and the noodles! I am not a huge fan of the dessert though but my mom loves it!

Yeah the temperature and the overwhelming day led to some issues but we worked through them :thumbsup2

Thank you!

Oh no Josh freaked out  I could care less about spiders but he deathly afraid of them
