~He didn't drink the Kool Aid.. He bathed in it!August TR~12/13 PG45 The End

Hi! Thanks for joining us!
On behalf of Josh and Caitlin, thank you!

I should have congratulated you and Dale also! Whoops. That's quite a milestone for you.

We are planning a Disney wedding! Exactly one year from today, the prince and princess will be married at Shades of Green :goodvibes It will just be a small wedding and we'll have the "reception" afterward at Ohana :)

That sounds like it'll be awesome. I have two daughters (and a son) and I don't plan on telling them that Disney even does weddings. (ka-ching!) ;) I may even photoshop the Wedding Chapel out of any pictures I take of the Grand Floridian.

Hi Everyone!! Guess what today marks? Well one year from today we will be returning to Disney World for the wedding of our prince and princess :cool1:

Whoo! Hoo! :yay:

Here is a pic of the girls trading...and yes Caitlin is short but she is on her knees in the picture. Both girls aren't the same size

Oh, okay. Riiiigghhhtt. On her knees. Not really that short. Sure. Uh, huh. No really, I'm sure she's on her knees. :rotfl:

We cut from Adventureland into Frontierland and there Josh found more photographic inspiration. This time from a drinking fountain?!

As a semi pro photographer, I've seen a lot of photos by a lot of really good photographers. Let me tell ya, the boy's got an eye. That is an excellent photo and I would encourage Josh to enter that in a photo contest. No, I'm not kidding.

They say everyone has a twin. Dale may have found his at the HM. What do you think?
disneyday2summer088.jpg

Hmmm... not sure. But when I look at Dale and the other guy, I do see it. But of course the other guy is wearing glasses, so that spoils it a bit.

:rolleyes1

Now the HM is a favorite with my family so we were really anxious to see Josh's reaction. The verdict.....he LOVED IT! It ended up being his favorite Disney ride.

It's a known fact that having HM as your favorite ride is an indicator that you are cultered, refined, intelligent and handsome with a wonderful sense of humor and humility.

:rolleyes1

Josh and Caitlin loved the attention and little did they know that they would be recieving a lot more Disney magic during our stay!

Cliff hanger alert!

Caitlin loved Josh' reaction to BTMRR. She said he just laughed the whole time and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Me too! :goodvibes

Peter Pan ended up being wasted on Josh as he found it kind of lame. Maybe it's one of those rides that you don't really get unless you first experience it as a child?

My first time I had no idea what to expect. As the 'car' trundled down the track, I thought, "Oh, brother. This is going to be lame." Then suddenly the car gets to the end of the track and you're flying. I was blown away. Then you fly over London and it took my breath away.

Next up was a walk on of my all time favorite ride...

Dawn, Dawn, what are we going to do with you? :sad2:

I love IASW and everytime I ride I am transformed back to a 6 year old girl riding for the first time.

Oh, all right. If that's the reaction you get, then I'll forgive you.

Josh's reaction to IASW? Well I think he kept his opinion to himself out of respect for his future Mother-in-law ;)

Smart boy. ::yes::

The obligatory 3D glasses shot...

With the obligatory ring hand prominently displayed.

Caitlin and Josh stopped at the sword in the stone for a picture which ended up being one of our favorite photos from this trip....
disneyday2summer133.jpg

I think that's the best Sword in the Stone shot I've seen! :thumbsup2

Soon we were called for our adr but I will stop here and let Caitlin tell you all about that....

Ooooh, another cliff hanger? Two in one post! Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

It looks like you guys are having so much fun on the trip! I LOOOVE the sword in the stone pic, I don't think I've ever seen one from the opposite side before!

I should have congratulated you and Dale also! Whoops. That's quite a milestone for you.

Thank you! We feel blessed that we now have a daughter and a son :goodvibes

You are a wise man! When Caitlin was about 12 she spotted the wedding chapel from the monorail and decided that someday she would have to be married at Disney World. :goodvibes

I will share your praise with Josh. We teased him a lot for some of his pictures but we love the new perspectives he showed us :thumbsup2

Works for me :)

Aww I love your description :goodvibes

Dawn, Dawn, what are we going to do with you? :sad2:
I know I'm so lame

Aww thanks :)

Smart boy. ::yes::

Yes he is!

I agree. I loved the angle she got and the expression on his face

Ooooh, another cliff hanger? Two in one post! Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Not a very dramatic one though. I'll work on that for next time

Thank you we were! I feel blessed that we genuinely enjoy each other's company and have so much fun together :goodvibes

I hadn't either and I loved it too! :)

I think it is special to the two of us because of the nostalgia involved. I know I am not impartial but I think they are a great couple.

I was close in guessing Haunted Mansion as the next ride ;) That was the first ride that me and DH went on during his first trip to Disney and he instantly fell in love. I keep forgetting they are closing down Snow White :sad2: I'll miss that ride! Does anybody know when the official close date is?

Great update. I love hearing all about Caitlin and Josh's special day. Of course Josh fell in love with the MK. How could you not when your first time there is so amazing?

By the way I love the Sword in the Stone shot too. I actually watched that movie for the first time last night.

HM is a great pick for a first ride :thumbsup2 How great that your DH got bit by the Disney bug so fast! :goodvibes

I don't think they have announced an official closing date for SW. As far as I know, they are keeping all the ride openings (or closings) pretty vague.

Thank you :)

I'm glad you're enjoying hearing about their special day! There is still lots more excitement to share too! :goodvibes

How'd you like the movie? That was Dale's favorite as a kid :)

We're the exact same with going back and forth from ride to ride! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a fun morning so far at MK! I've never seen the Banjo Brothers before... they seem like a good time!

One of the nice things about going when crowds are low is that you don't need a "plan" and can just do what you feel like :)

The Banjo Brothers roam around Frontierland performing. If you ever see them you should stop :)

Finally an update! Between school, Josh's shoulder surgery and lack of sleep there just hasn't been time for an update but I am back and ready to write!

When we last left you we were headed to the Plaza for lunch! This has become one of our favorite restaurants at Disney! Great atmosphere and great food!

disneyday2summer154.jpg

When we got inside I looked around for the Pumpkin Man but didn't see him :sad2: I hope he is doing well!

We were seated with a magical view! :wizard:

disneyday2summer157.jpg

disneyday2summer158.jpg

Josh and I had decided we would split a shake so we got a mint chocolate chip one :thumbsup2

disneyday2summer159.jpg

Mint Chocolate Chip Shake- 4.69

The shakes are so amazing!!!!

disneyday2summer160.jpg

I love this picture it looks all old fashioned :cutie:

We ordered our food and while we were waiting I look over and saw something outside one of the windows.

Clipboard01.jpg

The creepiest little boy you have ever seen! Now Chuckie may be a bit of an exaggeration but I kid you not this kid was creepy! He sat there staring at me with his face pressed up against the window. It freaked me out so I pointed him out to the rest of the family and mom jumped when she saw him  He sat there for about five minutes making these weird faces at us and then his parents grabbed him to leave. Well we go to wave bye to him and he makes the same exact face at us as Chuckie has in that picture!!! It was so scary!

After that terrifying ordeal our food finally arrived!

I split this with my dad Vegetarian Sandwich - fresh mozzarella, hummus, basil pesto, cucumber, roasted red pepper, tomato, and lettuce on a freshly baked foccaccia $10.99

disneyday2summer161.jpg

So good! We had a big dinner planned that night so I wanted something light and this hit the spot!

Mom split this with dad Plaza Club - smoked ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise layered on toasted multi-grain bread $11.49

disneyday2summer162.jpg

Mom enjoyed this and it is her go to at the Plaza :cutie:

Josh ordered this Cheese Steak Sandwich - shaved beef, grilled with onions, mushrooms, red peppers, and white American cheese served on a hoagie roll $11.99

disneyday2summer164.jpg

He loved it although he forgot to order is sans mushrooms so he proceeded to pick them all off after this picture

He stated it was one of the top five best cheesesteaks he has ever had!

We all enjoyed our lunches and after we were all set we headed back out and to Tomorrowland!

disneyday2summer166.jpg

Dad found this cool angle and told me to take a picture for him.

Our first stop was Buzz Lightyear!

disneyday2summer168.jpg

disneyday2summer171.jpg

disneyday2summer173.jpg

I am not sure who won but I am guessing it was either dad or Josh. Josh caught on pretty quick to these games! I have been kicking myself though because I think I found the target that gives you 999,999 but I never shot at it for some reason :confused3 I have been trying to keep it fresh in my mind so I can try it again next year!

We then headed to Carousel of Progress! (Dad needed a nap and it's one of my favorites!)

disneyday2summer175.jpg

Darn you ugly construction!

disneyday2summer176.jpg

disneyday2summer177.jpg

disneyday2summer180.jpg

disneyday2summer182.jpg

At this point I started feeling a bit motion sick. I had started on some new probiotics and for some reason it gave me horrible motion sickness after I ate :guilty: You know it's bad if the room changes on Carousel of Progress make you feel

disneyday2summer189.jpg

After we watched the Carousel almost get burned down thanks to voice programming and a turkey it was time for the boys to hit up Space Mountain!

disneyday2summer195.jpg

I was very sad I couldn't join them on Josh's first ride but with how sick I was feeling I knew it wouldn't be a good idea :guilty:

disneyday2summer196.jpg

disneyday2summer197.jpg

While the boys were on the ride mom and I looked at the shops around Tomorrowland and after we met back up we hit up the People Mover!

disneyday2summer198.jpg

disneyday2summer203.jpg

A bit of construction

disneyday2summer204.jpg

My Castle! ( I was proposed to in it so it will now be referred to as Caitlin's Castle Cinderella and I are currently in court arguing over who has rights to it)

disneyday2summer209.jpg

disneyday2summer210.jpg

disneyday2summer221.jpg

After our friendly ride through the skies we headed back towards Main Street. It was getting close to the flag ceremony time!

disneyday2summer223.jpg

disneyday2summer224.jpg

disneyday2summer225.jpg

I just love the fall decorations!!

We walked through the Emporium

disneyday2summer228.jpg

Then stopped to point out the puppy pumpkins

disneyday2summer229.jpg

disneyday2summer230.jpg

101 dalmations was my favorite movie when I was little and seeing those little puppies still puts a big smile on my face :cutie:

disneyday2summer231.jpg

Took a picture of the freshly painted Confectionary

disneyday2summer233.jpg

disneyday2summer244.jpg

We had time to kill so we decided we should go see Mickey and Minnie in their new spot! I just love the magician decorations!

disneyday2summer236.jpg

This was Josh's first time meeting Mickey! After hugs and Minnie and Mickey making a fuss over our engaged pins (and Mickey getting in trouble for not having proposed to Minnie yet) we posed for a picture

Photo0129FourBySix.jpg

After that picture Mickey motioned for Josh and I to kiss and then proceeded to pose with Minnie. The result?

Photo0137FourBySix.jpg

My favorite picture from our vacation! We have used it on everything  It is on the big collage portrait we have in our living room, in my bedroom, my cell phone background and we are using it for our save the date cards! I just loved this little bit of Disney magic!

After that picture mom and dad hopped in with us

disneyday2summer237.jpg

Now we were cutting it close to the Flag Ceremony and I will leave that for mom to tell you about!
