Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista-Tell me about it!

A friend of mine here at work is looking into staying at the Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista. How close to Downtown Disney is this? The Crossroads? Her Mom will probably be spending some of her days at the hotel while everyone else is off at the parks. Is this hotel close enough for her to walk to any restuarants or stores?

Please tell me both the good and the bad about this hotel. Thanks!
