hawaii????

has anyone used dvc points for staying in hawaii? any particular recommendations would be appreciated. we heard the kapalua bay hotel in maui is very nice. any info at all.

Do a search of this site for Hawaii exchanges and you'll find several posts on this topic. We did an excange in 1998. Stayed at the Cliffs Club on Kauai. It was very nice (not quite Disney standard, but comfortable, spacious & clean) and we used 198 points in the exchange. (1 bedroom/2 bath unit that would sleep 4)

We hope to return to Hawaii spring of 2002 or 2003. We are going to try and do an exchange with a co-worker of mine who owns two weeks at an RCI resort on Kauai.

Many DVC members here have time shares at other resorts and have a wealth of helpful information about exchanging. They also recommend you join TUG..a timeshare usergroup. I joined, and the information out there is not to be missed. Very helpful reviews on all resorts. WWW.tug2.com

Thanks to our DVC points we leave for Kauai Sunday!!! It's 263 points for a 2br at Club Intrawest aka Pahio Bali Hai on the northshore. I'll be sure to post when we get back.
