Hawaii?

We are 4 couples..we love to rent wonderful villas in beautiful spots....thinking Hawaii, perhaps 2 islands. A week in each.

Some of us have been to Oahu and Maui...looking for opinions whether re-visit or try 2 or 3 others?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

I LOVED the Big Island. We stayed in Volcano and explored Volcano National Park for two days and then spent seven days in Kona, doing mostly snorkeling and exploring the island.

We drove around the Island once. We visited several heritage sites and learned more about Hawaii and Hawaiians. We visited some old churches. We also did some of the more touristy things, like a luau (never again) and parasailing and a submarine tour.

I'll never forget walking into a lava tube, or renting a nice house in Volcano ON a volcano, and the backyard faced the rain forest. It was quiet and so pleasant. I loved the various sides of the Island so much that we are going back next year and just staying on the Big Island.

There is also snow skiing on the Big Island. So, there is a lot to do.

We just stayed in an amazing condo in Mauna Lani on the big island for a really good price. I can find the website later and send it to you.

We have been to Oahu, Maui, and Kauai.

Of the 3, I would choose Kauai, if none of you have been there before. It is truly a tropical paradise, and less over-developed than some of the other islands.

We have rented houses from HomeAway.com, and were very happy with our accomodations.

The Big Island is my favorite. You can find many condo rentals on vrbo.com. Here's a website with a questionnaire to help you decide which island or islands to visit.

We had 3 couples. The condo is HUGE (bigger than my house, which is sad haha), but there are only 3 actual bedrooms, so you guys might need to rent 2, and there are other condos on this site. Julie, the owner, was super nice and if anyone in your group has kids they have everything from toys to pack n' plays. They also had two adult bikes, snorkel gear, boogie boards etc. It was great!

We went to fantastic beaches, we took a day trip over to Volcano National Park and a separate day trip over to the Hilo area and to the Botanical Gardens there (amazing). The beach at the condo is great and Mauna Kea beach was amazing too.

But all the islands are great- good luck with your choice!
