BTW, where did you get the name? I read like a dozen article (no exaggeration) and did not find a name? And if you made it up (which is very creative) what does it mean?

I just assumed it was Hawaiian for WELCOME HOME!

No, I haven't seen an offical name for it yet either... just made it up to add to the banner.

It means "Welcome" "Come on in", or at least that is the spirit of the saying... a welcome home. I hope they actually SAY that on check in!

I certainly don't mind if you use the one I have in my post (I will edit the name when they announce it). I am just so damn excited, that I couldn't wait for someone else to make one! Just right click on the image and choose "save picture as" and save it somewhere on your computer. You will have to edit your signature settings and upload it from your pc.

My first contract (BCV) is at ROFR right now and I am anxiously waiting for some good news on that. Now that Hawaii has been announced, it makes me feel like my membership will be even more valuable. I had planned to do trips every other year or every 3 (I'm on the west-coast), but with Hawaii added I can certainly justify buying more points. Now to start 'preparing' my husband for that!

Once I get my guide assigned, I will be making a call!

I am just not attracted to the Hotel style DVC buildings. The closed hall ways are noisy at times and the parking is annoying when using your car (I like to look out and see my car).

I know land is at a premium....

Curious... as we prefer the Hotel Style timeshares such as MGC and MOP. We feel a bit more secure.

We are the exact opposite and greatly prefer the hotel style DVC villas to the condo style DVC villas.
But this is Hawaii!!!!! I don't care what style the villas are!! It is Hawaii and it's going to be a DVC resort!!!
I have been hoping for this for the past 15 years!
Couldn't be more pleased!

Wow. Have I been living under a (volcanic) rock.

I was at WDW last week, and a bus driver told a friend that DVC was expanding to Hawaii and I shrugged it off as one of those rumors I'm always reading about on the Disboards.

And to make matters worse (or at least more ironic), I've just spent the last couple months haunting the Marriott forum on TUG because I was interested in their Ko Olina property. Is someone from Disney marketing hiding in my computer??? It feels like something is tugging at my wallet again . . .


Next time I hear a rumor from a bus driver at WDW, I'm gonna pay a whole lot more attention.
