Having trouble claiming referral reward.

Hi all,
I received an email from DVC that someone I referred became a member. On the email it explains how I go about claiming my reward. Unfortunately , I can't seem to get it to work. After signing in it asks me to find the "sharing the magic" link in the my membership tab, problem is I am not seeing a "sharing the magic" link on the My membership tab.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Am I doing something wrong? HELP!!!
 
Log into your account. Make sure to close the large pop up ad for Aulani.

On the right hand side of the page is a box that says My Membership.

Under that are choices:
My Vacation Points
Sharing the Magic
My Profile
Account Help
View Vacation Details

Click on Sharing the Magic.

(You can also use the pulldown menus under the tabs at the top of the page - I see the same choices there, along with a few other ones - Overview, My Loans).
 
I read on facebook that some Disney sites were having problems...maybe that was impacting your ability to find the link? Try again.
 
Thank you both, for whatever reason, it is not showing up under either "My Membership" tab.

Well that is definitely odd. Yep, I would call them - they can connect you with the IT folks to troubleshoot it.
 
We had a referral reward recently and it did not show up either. When we called MS, they found that it was under my login, which we never activated. We had to activate my login and then we found it. Have you checked all of the user's login's on your account?
 
The OP's problem is not that the reward isn't there - it's that there is no choice for them to even choose "Sharing the Magic" on their page, if I understood correctly. In other words, the link is missing.
 
There was not a link on my DW's login when we received the e-mail about the reward, but once we activated my login, it was there. MS explained that they can only attach it to one of the members login page for some reason. We have cashed in our reward and the link is still present on my page, but not DW's.
 
We had the same problem about a year ago. It took about 1 month for MS to track down the problem and fix it (I don't think we actually ever found out what the problem was). Don't give up on it. Eventually it will work out.
 
Kidanifan08 , that's exactly what it was. I was logged into my account, we had never activated my husbands login since i'm the one who takes care of all DVC matters. As it turns out, the reward was under his name (i'm not sure why, since I was the one who gave the referral), under his login that had never been activated. As soon as we activated his login and signed in, there it was! Problem solved!!! :) Thank you all for your help!

I'm glad you found it. I don't understand why it doesn't show up under both logins, but I guess it's just another mystery of the DVC website.:confused3. Have fun spending the reward money!:thumbsup2

Aha! That's probably what happened to me, too, when I had the same problem recently. I finally got a letter in the mail or something, so I did it that way. But it almost certainly would have been credited to my DH's account, which was never activated. I do all the planning, but my name is hyphenated, which can cause confusion. So I give my hisband's name.
