Having terrible time

Glad to hear your trip got better! Sounds to me like the housekeeping in charge of cleaning the section of the GCH you stayed in had some issues. Hopefully they will get it corrected! Sounds like you got a nice meal out of it though.:goodvibes

We actually had a similar thing happen at DLH in August with the waiting and waiting for the room to be ready and this was AFTER the 3 pm check-in time. I think we waited two hours, too. All the while I'm thinking about how we COULD be in the parks, but we had all our luggage and needed to change clothes and get stuff out of luggage, etc. They kept saying the room wasn't clean yet. I couldn't see WHY it would take SO long to clean a room. It wouldn't have been so bad if the very first CM at the check-in had explained that our room wasn't ready. She wasn't clear, so we parked over at the Wonder tower and lugged all our stuff in before we realized we didn't have a room number written on our keycard holder. :faint:

We didn't get any special perks though. I was just so happy to finally get a CM (after calling every 10 minutes to see if the room was ready--as I'd been instructed to do) that decided to take on our case and get the room ready! In the end, I guess we did get an upgrade, because the room had a pool view and we had paid for a standard view. That was a nice surprise!

Moral of the story: Don't expect a ready room at the Disney hotels unless you're checking in pretty late. And be ready to hit the parks running!

I too hope that housekeeping was spoken to, along with the first CM that *said* they were calling housekeeping!

Oh ter-moo, what a horrible CM you got! When we checked in very early, they spelled it out for us...here's your keycards, here's the envelope thing for it, call this number after 4pm to get your room assignment, go have fun.

Now when we got the same spiel at PPH, they had ugpraded us and it took extra time. It was well after 5 when we finally got a room assigned, but at least we knew we had a number to call.

And do you know what DLH bellhops hate, but who really cares? When you sit outside, rearranging ALL your luggage after getting it from them. That's what I had to do the hour before the bus got there back in May. Oh man did that bug them. I felt a bit, hmm, not-fancy, doing it, but what ELSE was I going to do, since everything was all mixed up (mainly b/c housekeeping threw away the box to the big stormtrooper blaster, we have soft-sided luggage and couldn't put the blaster in the checked bags, and had to figure out some way to pack the blaster (and a big plastic sword from BBB's "knight's package") in a carryon. (thank goodness we got a lovely TSA who was following the rules set out on the website (no realistic replica guns), rather than the rules some TSA folks are making up where they think there is such a thing as a bright pink or green, see through, plastic musket, or a real stormtrooper blaster, and not allowing TOY replicas of them on...silly silly TSA...but I know we got lucky)

A couple of years ago, we checked in to the GCH late and did not get the view we were supposed to get. It had been a very long travel day and we were so tired and when I called the front desk to have them move us, we were told that they didn't have any other rooms but that they would be happy to move us in the morning and that they would block a room with the view we were supposed to have had. When I called in the morning, they had no record of my call the night before and had never heard of the CM that had helped me the night before. The funny thing is, I think his name was also Jason. And this was a supervisor that I spoke with so I couldn't understand why she wasn't familiar with the entire front desk staff because they must rotate people on the schedule. In the end, we stayed in the original room because the supervisor couldn't have been less helpful or accomodating. I doubt that we'll stay there again with the poor customer service that we received.

I'll gladly trade places with you. How bad could things rally be? You're at Disneyland!
I'm getting my kids ready for a soccer game, returning emails for the upcoming PTA meeting, planning a den meeting and 2 kids birthday parties.

Go get a Dole Whip and regroup! Have some fun and the hotel room snafu won't seem so bad.

For the original room that we moved out of, it wasn't ready when we checked in early. I was fine with that. An hour later we received a text message it was ready. When they moved us to the second room, we immediately received the text message that it was ready. It wasn't that I expected it to be ready early, but that we were told it was ready, and when it wasn't and I was told action would be taken, it never was multiple times.
