Having someone else check us in for SW return flight?

We are flying SW for the first time for our return flight on Dec. 24th. I know that's a crazy travel day, so I want to make sure and check in at the 24 hour mark. It will be just me and 4 year old DS and it would be a total disaster for us (and everyone else) if we couldn't sit together!

But, we are scheduled to be on the Family Magic tour at our 24 hour mark and we won't be able to be at Guest Services to check in. I think I read that DH could check us in from our computer at home. Is that correct?

How does that work with our boarding passes? Would they print for him at home and then we would just have them reprinted when we arrive at the airport?

Also, if he checks us in at the 24 hour mark before our first flight, are we also checked in then for our connecting flight? Or does he have to come back 24 hours before that flight time and check us in for that leg?

Anybody know how that works?

Yes, that will work just fine. All he needs is your confirmation number and he can check you in. He doesn't even need to print the boarding passes (although he can if he wants a record of having checked you in). You'll just need to have them "reprinted" at the airport, either at a self-service kiosk or the ticket counter.

If he checks you in at the 24-hour mark for your first flight, you'll also be checked in for your second flight (and ahead of people who are starting their trips on that flight!).
