What lower cost iPhone???

There have been lots of rumors about a lower cost iPhone for quite a while. One rumor says it's suppose to be a 4GB version. Another rumor says that it was going to be sold only at Wal-Mart. By the way, Wal-Mart is selling the same version of the iPhone that you can buy at AT&T and Apple (albeit at a $2.00 savings... woo-hoo!)

Whether Apple ever comes out with a less expensive version of the iPhone, chances are the monthly cost will be the same. So, you have no reason to wait to buy your iPhone. I think May 1st would be a great day to buy the iPhone you really want.

If you were thinking about an iPhone I would wait until June 8. That's the opening of Apple's developer conference and likely when any new iPhone hardware would be announced. It may not ship then but you might see some discounting of the current model ahead of the new model's release.

Okay, I'll admit it. I am now leaning towards an iPhone. Do you think they'd be able to tell me what my monthly bill will be with my discount? I'd feel better knowing how much it was each month. I get $7.50 off each month now.

Anybody know if it has an alarm clock?

I'm sure if you went into a store, they could give you a rundown of what your bill would be.

Yes, the clock feature of the phone has alarms. I currently have 3 alarms that go off each day, so you can set multiples.

Of course, there are also clock/alarm apps in the App Store, too

It has an alarm clock built in. If you have AT&T you keep your existing plan just add $30 to it. If you are new to AT&T the plans start at $69.99.

I have become an Mac addict. I have a friend who is a (Mac) pusher.

I now own and love the I-Pod Shuffle, that was not good enough for him so he kept showing me his cool I-Pod Touch. It took me about a month to cave and buy one. I wish I had known about the I-Phone.

I have also had a Macbook for over a year and will never buy another PC again.

I said all this to say. I understand about the bill. The only reason I am not holding an I-Phone in my hands this instant is the $30. a month.

I and my DW both work for the school system she is a second grade teacher and I am a security officer in school to be a teacher and we completely understand about the price.

I am glad I read this thread because I am going to AT&T today to get my discount. I did no know it was available.

Watch these I-Phone pushers, although they are telling you the truth about it being the greatest phone on earth and that you can't live without it. Remember, once you Mac you can never go back. BTW Kevin you should be ashamed of yourself PUSHER.........

I predict our protagonist NikkiBell will eventually fall to the iPhone collective. However, in a twist of fate for the collective, she will wait until June and score a 3rd Gen iPhone! The taunting of the 1st and 2nd generation owners in the collective will extend the series well into next season. As the screen fades to black our principle antagonist Kevin Klose is seen signing an exorbitant cell phone contract extension to trade up to the 3rd Gen phone and mumbling under his breath "damn you NickkiBell".

At least that's how I would write it.

So I was playing with "the" phone today at AT&T. I had some trouble typing on the keyboard and am concerned about that. Any girl out there with nails have issues? I was hoping the tips of my nails would work, but it seems only if your finger pushes on the screen that it works. Argh!

The keyboard uses "Smart" technology to assimilate to the owner, so if you repeatedly keep pressing "K" everytime you mean to press "L" it will learn that.

Also, with the new 3.0 software coming out in june a lot of the applications will feature the landscape typing support making it even easier to type on the keyboard.

Once you get used to it It's not difficult at all. The only thing I couldn't stand was during the winter I had to keep taking off my gloves to type. Totally worth it, IMO.

Basically the iPhone is a carry around computer that also happens to be a phone. It is INCREDIBLE the things you can do with it. That makes the monthly price seem much more reasonable to me. It is not just a phone.

The phone has a learning curve - it takes about an hour or two to get used to it and then you can type without too many errors, nails or not.

Basically the iPhone is a carry around computer that also happens to be a phone. It is INCREDIBLE the things you can do with it. That makes the monthly price seem much more reasonable to me. It is not just a phone.
