I don't like the iPhone because it gets all of the fingerprints on it. Plus, I'm a teacher and that is so not in my budget right now! lol

Fingerprints are easily combatted. Just buy the screen overlay. It protects you from scratches and fingerprints. Iphone is the best phone I have ever used.

True, true. How fast does the 3G run? The rumor is that the new one will be "even faster." Will that really make a difference?

I would hope the new phone is faster but honestly I don't have a complaint about the speed of the 3G. And I don't suffer slow computers gladly.

3G speeds are quite satisfactory. The only time you'll have a "need for speed" is when you are browsing on the phone. Most of the other functions like email, audio streaming, syncing, etc have low bandwidth requirements and it wouldn't make any difference if the phone was "a lot faster".

I browse the DISBoards on my phone on a 3G network and it is sufficiently fast. Not as fast as my home computer but it's very useable.

I think TODAY (or tomorrow) would be a great day to replace that dying phone of yours. You know you want an iPhone. Go get one!

Grocery IQ - shopping list
Urban Spoon - deciding where to go to dinner
iHandy Level - making sure signs I put up at work are straight
Phone Flix - managing my Netflix queue
Weather - checking the weather every morning when getting the boys dressed for school
DirecTV - scheduling programs to be recorded
Open Table - dinner reservations
Fandango & Flixster - looking up movie times
Facebook - wasting way too much of my day
Shazam - "Dang, I know this song...who sings it?"


That's just off the top of my head...

You will seriously wonder how you ever lived without the thing.

I actually use my iPhone less for making calls than all the other apps on the phone.

The phone part of the iPhone is only a minor part of what the iPhone is all about.

Hard to explain to someone who doesn't have one ....

I personally find the phone part of the iPhone the weakest part. The trick is that you have to look at it to answer and make calls. With my old RAZR I could answer and dial by touch. If you're a heavy phone user there are likely better phones.

An iPhone is really a small portable computer. The apps I use the most is OmniFocus, Mail and Calendar. One of the biggest advantages of the iPhone is that there are apps for everyone. My guess is that everyone uses it in a slightly different way.

For me the most important thing was device convergence. I was able to carry a single device instead of a phone, an iPod and a Palm Pilot.

ROFL! I SO waited for them to be on the cruise. Well, kinda. What really pushed me over the edge was when they all left on Sunday. I watched all of the fun they were having via Facebook and it 100% convinced me that I needed this little sucker!!! I have an iPhone!!!!

I got a black one and found an AMAZING PINK CASE. It's by iFrogz brand and pink/black and just gorgeous. It's more like a fuschia color. It was $29.99, but they gave it to me for free because I was also buying the car charger and (got sucked into) the AppleCare program.

OH, btw, I left a voicemail for Pete and the crew yesterday on my way to AT & T. I cracked myself up because I was so used to saying that Kevin would never win and then blurted out what I was going to buy. It was HYSTERICAL. LMAO!

I totally don't know how to do ANYTHING on this yet, but am learning. I've gone onto FB (saw the DIS cruise group photo from it during my lunch today actually) and am playing around. I gotta figure out these headphones though because I didn't buy a new bluetooth just yet.

OMG, I was mentioned on the show??? OMG, I'll die laughing if this is so! I didn't even know that Pete was following this thread!!!!

Hugs to my DIS friends (and patient boyfriend) for putting up with me all of these weeks!!!!

I gotta figure out these headphones though because I didn't buy a new bluetooth just yet.

This reminds me that it was more than two months before I learned that the headphones included a microphone which lets you answer incoming phone calls and pause the ipod player. I didn't use them, you see, as they don't fit my ears.
