I like it.

They got cheese soup in there?

Dave

Can you show us the before image as well?

Great photo :thumbsup2. Did you happen to get the Topaz Detail, they sent a 50% off offer to me ($19). I'm really happy with that plug-in also. This photo is a perfect candidate for that one too!

Thanks so much!!
I did get that email but haven't downloaded it yet. I do love Topaz though and use quite often.

Nice use of the treatment - a good subject for it, and a shot that was otherwise a bit underexposed. That's how I find myself using Topaz Adjust the most - shots that I might have disregarded end up being gems.

That building looks so familiar...wonder where I've seen that before? Something familiar...

( ;) Obviously a big inspiration for Disney's Canada pavilion design...but I've been to Quebec City often and am familiar with the Hotel Frontenac too...just joking around!)

Whoa! I didn't get that email offer and I ordered the entire bundle about 2 months ago. I think I paid through paypal, so would they have sent it to my paypal account email? I hardly use that email account anymore, too much spam... How long ago did you guys get this offer?

Could you share the detail of the offer with me? I tried doing a search at my old email address and it's not showing up. Is there a link or a coupon code to input to get the deal?
Thanks!

Offer popped up about 2 weeks ago, I think. I got a copy of the offer too. Downloaded the 30day sample to try it out, and can definitely see how it would come in handy even if you already have Adjust. I think after Denoise3 and Adjust, Detail is my 3rd favorite (I've got Clean and Simplify, as well as Denoise2).

I know there's a bundle package right now for $150, in which you get the following: Adjust, DeNoise, Simplify, Clean, DeJPEG, & Detail. My only question is, if I can get Adjust & DeNoise for $130 would I use the others or should I save $20??

I found the email offer in my trash box. The code was SODETAILED :thumbsup2

Clean does some really cool things to fireworks. I have all of those and Detail is in my top 3 as well.

I use them all. Seems different addons do different things to different types of pictures. I use adjust and denoise the most, but just recently got the detailed one and haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet.

Well it's just my opinion, but I'd say you'd use Denoise, Adjust, and Detail fairly regularly...but Clean, Simplify, and DeJPG are more specifically tuned to a certain type of look or artistic style. I don't really use them myself...or at least haven't really yet...I bought the bundle too a few months back (Detail wasn't part of it at the time so it was cheaper). Denoise2 was free-upgraded to Denoise3, and I'm likely going to add Detail.

I personally feel Detail is worth the extra $20 alone...even if you don't use the others at all...so if you're willing to go to $130, I'd probably say get the whole bundle.

I didn't get the free upgrade to Denoise3 :confused3. Wonder how I take advantage of that? I bought the package before Detail was part of it also.

You might try e-mailing them - I've heard their service is decent, though i've never used it. I got the e-mail for the upgrade to Denoise3 about a month after buying the bundle - no cost upgrade. It's a lot better and a little faster too, in my opinion...so definitely try to get a hold of it!

Think I'll do that. The new Detail is frustratingly slow......*yawn*!

Detail is a bit slow like Denoise...but it's slow in reverse. It takes a long time to analyze the shot before it opens, but once you choose your effect and apply, it does so instantly. With Adjust, it opens quickly, then processes longer on the back end...same with Denoise. In the end, it isn't too bad on speed...and it can make quite a nice difference in detail and sharpness in a shot without distortion.

Thought some of you who haven't tried it might like a sample of Details. I tried to find a challenging shot to sharpen up - so I went to my safari shots of the male lion. At 345mm, from a moving truck, and ISO400 and a megazoom lens wide open, it was certainly one that was sharpness-challenged. After initial processing, and applying my basic USM to the resized shot, this was about as good as I could get without sharpening halos:

I was OK with it, because there was hair detail in the mane, and some facial scar details. It was far from perfect, but the lions are hard to get on that ride.

So I took the original shot (notice it isn't cropped in as close as the above shot), and ran it quick and dirty through details using the microcontrast setting with the small details slider pumped up a bit:

Now...just to point out, I've done no other processing here. With some noise reduction in the background, or layering over the original, the background could be suitably smoothed down a bit, but still leaving the detail on the lion. But the details in the lion really do jump out a lot more, and despite cranking up the sliders high on a slightly blurry shot, it didn't produce typical sharpening white haloes around the edges.

Here's another - this original shot was fairly sharp, and I didn't process it at all other than resizing and light USM:

Now this is actually a different photograph, but taken at almost the same time, from the same spot, of the same gorilla, in the same light - for all effects and purposes, it should be the same basic shot for details. This is the version that I did no processing on other than running through Details on microcontrast setting:

It does bring out much more detail in the fine hairs.

Now, I need to fine tune using it - I may go for a blend, as sometimes the adjustments make the shots a bit too contrasty - I need to work the sliders to pull that down a bit. I'm only just playing with it this week, so I'm pretty new to Details. But so far, it does seem to have a few abilities that go beyond what Adjust alone was doing.

Thanks to both of you! I just emailed customer support to ask how I can get the same offer.
I checked and didn't see it in my trash can. Interesting, because even though I paid using my other paypal linked email account, they sent the download links to my current email so I suppose any offers should have come to my current email. Hopefully they'll respond soon.

Also you are the first one to point out the fact that this was an inspiration for Epcot's Canadian pavilion. I was wondering if anyone would notice.
