Gir,l I am a Southern Baptist! And you know we are some prudes!

BTW, I love your GM saying. We have so many kids it's just so hard for the little old church ladies to get over, I have even had some ask if my husband was raised Catholic. Strangers also ask if I am Catholic and I just reply "no, just a passionate baptist"

And BTW my GF was a preacher and evangelist and GOOD friend of Billy Grahams. The assembly's are the rowdy crowd, I'm sure you fit right in!

I have to say that I sing on the Praise team and lead the worship, we have a blended worship service with contemporary and traditional hymns but pepped up, and my GM still gives me the stank eye when I get into it and raise a hand. She will say , "ya'll really got into it this morning." I just sweetly reply "well I'm just getting practiced up for what worship is going to be in Heaven, we got all eternity so I figured I would get use to it here."
I have to say that I led a bible study about the Song of Solomon and boy is that one steamy book! A few of the ladies stopped coming because if was "inappropriate" and "boarder line pornographic"

I told them it was the Word of God and a beautiful look at how he intended the marriage relationship. They didn't want to hear it and claimed it was a misinterpretation.

What ever that rest of us had a good time!
Here I go: Just remember you asked
So back to my denomination. OK so I am a total rebel. I think too many churches are run more like country clubs and not interested in reaching out to those in need, not even welcoming to newcomers. I don't believe in religion, even though I am at our church 3 times a week, I believe it's about the relationship with Jesus Christ not just being a member of said church and going on a regular basis. I believe it's what you do between Sundays but not about a bunch of "rules". I believe in teaching my children about Jesus and teaching them to live to serve others, I don't leave it up to the SS teacher to teach my child about Him. I believe in the deep love Jesus had for us and loving others and trying to be the hands and feet of Jesus. It's not about being good enough, we can never be good enough that's why we need Jesus. Jesus was a rebel just look at all his chit chat's with the Pharisee's. He also got out there in the world, remember his first miracle was turning water to wine so the party could go on

So what ever denomination that is, that's me.

Why can't we get a Jesus smiley up in here?
I think if we reached out to people and love them in what ever condition we find them then "Christians" would start to be more effective. I also believe in ministering to other's, for example I started a ministry called Dinners and Diapers. We reach out to women and provide them with a few weeks of home cooked meals as well as a basket of goodies. You would not believe the impact we have had on just loving moms and wanting to help them out! I love it it is so much fun!
So sorry for the rant but you asked
