Lesley - Brown Derby has to be the best, but we also like Mama Melrose and the kids love Sci-Fi Dine!

We did Brown Derby for dinner last time and it was pretty good. I just thought the rice pilaf with the maple vinegar sauce was weird. Really weird. DH very much enjoyed his Tuna. I'd be willing to try it again but for lunch!

Good Morning All! :goodvibes

We have an ADR for the Brown Derby Fantasmic Dinner package - do you think it is worth the $$? I think it costs $59.99 pp for adults or counts as two table service meals if you are doing the dining plan.

We have eaten at both 50s Prime Time Cafe - fun with a lot of people - and the sci-fi diner many times. We like them both - good food (although very basic) and fun atmosphere!

Just remember because its 2TS if you have the basic dining plan it DOES NOT include an appie. I made ressies at all 1TS restaurants for that reason this year, also because my kids don't want to sit for 2 hours to have dinner!

We think Mama Melrose is lousy. We actually think all the food inside DHS is though!! (Haven't been to the Derby in years though, so maybe it has improved). We go tothe Sci Fi every trip for lunch, but more for atmosphere and not food. We always leave DHS at dinnertime and head to the BW area or EPCOT instead. (I guess this is why we never seem to see Fantasmic!!)

Thats a great idea to go over to the BW area after DHS, I have to agree with you about DHS, the food is really tough, not as tough at Magic Kingdom. IMO Tony's needs to go!!! I like the Brown Derby but my kids eat nothing in there!!!

We don't sit for Fantasmic anymore!! You have to sit too long before it starts, its hot and buggy!!!

Thanks
Annette

Hey Channing - I don't if I forgot to tell you, but Natalie and I got twins!!! Thanks for the pick a pearl info. it was cute! Embarrassing, but cute!!!

I am going to set them at home, I really didn't like anything there, besides we really didn't have enough time it was late!!

You have two very good points! Which 1TS would you recommend most??

I also meant to say, which 1TS throughout all of WDW - not just DHS -would you recommend most!?

Thank you WishesQueen!

Wow, you guys are going in a week and 4 days! We are going in a week and 6 days (I think). How long are you all staying for? Are you staying at the GF? Are you SOOOOO excited?!?

Yes, I am soooooooooo excited!:yay: We booked our trip in January and have been counting down ever since! Traveling with DAunt/Uncle and my three cousins who are grown now! The last time we were there was in 2005 when I was pregnant with DS (now 2), so our trip is long overdue! It is his first trip and DD6s third! We are staying at the GF - we truly love it there. It is our first time staying in SL though - all other times have been in GV room in Boca Chica, which we love too. I like looking at the quiet pool and the main building! We are staying for eight nights! What about you - how long are you staying for? DH and I are looking at our ADRs and wondering if we made good choices....

lol..sounds weird to me, too. I stick with the Cobb Salad at lunch - sometimes dinner, too, and with the salad at dinner I get the filet. YUM...and then there is some white chocolate bananas foster thing for dessert!!! Scrumptious!!!!!! We always love the Brown Derby but I am NOT an adventurous eater....no maple vinegar sauce for me, either!!! OR TUNA!!! ewwww....:rotfl: Even Jojo the MEGA PICKY eater likes the food there...for lunch she has had the chicken noodle soup and said it was delish.....not sure what else..probably chicken fingers or mac...but she likes it.:thumbsup2

ME TOO!!! I agree!!!:thumbsup2

Does anyone here have an opinion on where to eat (or where NOT to eat) at DHS? We have tried 50s Prime Time Cafe but would be up to trying something new, too!

Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, or Sci Fi. WE enjoy all three.:) Sci Fi has grossish food, but the atmosphere is great. It's worth it for that alone. I always stick to basics like burger, chikcen sandwich, that type stuff at Sci Fi.

Will Do Chan!

:goodvibes

That is AWESOME!!! :goodvibes Ya..the girls chose theirs and LUcy got a silver pearl adn Jojo got a huge one...and then they chose a second set for me...Lucy got a pretty pink one adn Jojo got twins! Then all the fussing started about the setting. I brought the three home unset. It is IMPOSSIBLE to set three pearls without the setting looking totally tacky.:rotfl: THey always get a pendant or ring. Nice and easy.

We like SciFi Diner.....my boys like sittin in the cars

Yep us too!! I like the old movies. It's a fun place.:)

Morning, all!!:flower3:

Herecomesthesun..
..I hate Fantasmic. That's my 2 cents. :rotfl: (I am serious though it is SO NOT WORTH IT moneywise or timewise) IN all our bajillion Disney trips we've seen it once and once was enough. WE just saw it for the first time about 3 yrs ago. Bleh. Brown Derby is good....but for $60 per person....EEK. Skip the Fantasmic package...skip Fantasmic all together....save your time and your money!

CHanning :)

We are staying at the Poly this time... for 6 nights. It really is a bonus trip for us because we spent 7 nights at the GF in June. What ADRs do you have? We are doing.... Kona (for bfast and dinner), Ohana, California Grill, Citricos (hopefully change to Narcoossees), Flying Fish Cafe, Artist's Pointe, Libert Tree Tavern, Yak and Yeti's, Tutto Italia, 50's Primetime Cafe. I really want Crystal Palace breakfast for the boys, they are begging to see Pooh again. We'll see.

What are you guys doing?

Ok for real, it was like putting pancake syrup on white rice. REALLY off. That's what I think of when I think Brown Derby. I need a better experience!

Oh and I only saw the first half of Fantasmic and I did not think it was so fantastic, or orgasmic, or whatever combination of two words "Fantasmic" is supposed to be. haha.

I love Artist Pointe. I tried the buffalo there...and it was really REALLY good! WE like the LTT character meal!! I am bummed it's going away. You'll have to tell me how Y & Y and Tutto goes....i have never.....

Crystal Palace is always a MUST DO...Lucy is a HUGE Eeyore fan adn Jo loves Piglet...mostly because "she" is pink. haha...

I bet you're getting excited!!!!:goodvibes

Well, I have to give credit to Kelly... she picked out Artist Pointe, Flying Fish, and a few others. I hadn't even heard of them. I just said "here's what I want, fill in the blanks and surprise me!" and she did. :goodvibes

I am sooo super excited for Kona. I know my kids will love the Tonga Toast for breakfast.

Never done Y&Y or Tutto either. I loved Tusker House last time but thought we'd be adventurous this time. We actually skipped Epcot altogether last time (well, Jorge and Sky went and rode Test Track and Mission Space and then met me and the two younguns over at MK where we took advantage of the morning EMH.... so we all really skipped over Epcot. NOT THIS TIME THOUGH!)

We are trying really hard for CP breakfast. Aidan asked me the other day "mommy, we go have beffest wiv Pooh now?" My heart melted :)

Thank you WishesQueen!

Well, this is where we ate last month!!

The Plaza - First night dinner, light sandwichs, heavy great sundaes
Ohana's - Poly - I am getting tired of this place, but my kids like it
Tutto Italia - Epcot - Italy - Very good, very pretty
Tappen Edo - Epcot - Its new and great, we like Sushi and the chef's are fun
Whispering Canyon Cafe - Wilderness Lodge - Tradition for us, we having been going there since Natalie is 2. Different food, nice change!!!
GF Cafe - Just OK!!! Tired, rainy took a night off from WDW!!!!
Sci-Fi Dine - DHS -Really Good Burgers (Where else can you in a car????)
Mamma Melrose - DHS - Cute, Pizza, Sangria, Dessert (I really like this park)
Le Cellier - Epcot - Canadia - THE BEST!!!! IMO!!!

We also like France in Epcot - its so pretty and the food is good!!
I would like to switch Kona for Ohana one day -Thats also at the Poly!!

2TS that are our favorites!!

Yachtsman
California Grill
Nacoossee

I feel the same way about Fantasmic!! I rather enjoy walking around the park nice and quiet, jumping off and on rides then sit through that again!!!

WOW - 2 trips this summer - that's awesome! Where did you eat in June?

We are doing....Plaza, Kona, Narcoossees, GFCafe, Brown Derby, CRT, 1900PF, GVL, and still trying to figure out where to eat in EPCOT or the Boardwalk. We heard a lot of good things about Flying Fish Cafe - so it is a definite possibility.

I checked my ADR for Brown Derby and it is actually $46.99 per adult - is it still a waste?
