..yep...skanky is the new style. Pretty sad. You should see the jr high and high school kids.....ugh. Either skanky or boyish. Sometimes hard to tell the girls and boys apart. Although the boys wear their pants baggy and lower then the girls.:rotfl: Just a bit...its the baggy that gives them away.

Hmm....Oh..I love whole wheat buns.:goodvibes I remember back when the myth was that Wonder Bread put sawdust in their white bread....LOL...I think I was in grade school....so ICK...that has stuck with me.
Chan

Did i mention the girls (maybe 15) walking around in Epcot with their bikink tops (that were too small for thier already full grown bodies) and short shorts? Can't remember if i did.

My wife has complained that most of the clothes she tries to buy for our daughter are slut clothes. all the shorts and the pants do not rise high enough on your waist and the shirts are not long enough.
Even for her she has the same problem buying clothes. it drives her crazy buying stuff that will actually fit normally.

P hates Wonder bread. It actually makes her gag lol Never heard the saw dust story but Im going to tell her tonight. She'll gag from me just talking about it. I grew up on wonder so it doesn't bother me but she has never let it come into our house since we've been married. :rotfl:

Plus B&C is usually so packed and Ghiradelli's is much easier to get a table.

I guess it all depends on when you go, we've never been able to get into Ghiradelli's but have always had luck with B&C.

I prefer wheat bread personally, it's just surprising to find it in an all-american baseball themed hotdog place like Casey's. It just doesn't go. Could you just imagine if they switched all hotdog buns to wheat at the baseball stadiums, the guys would have a fit! :rotfl:

Afternoon GF gals and M&P~

Anyone watch the Olympics opening ceremony? I did! It was great! I even watched the parade of nations, i consider it my by annual geography lesson! LOL!

:lmao: yes indeed! I have 2 persians, and 2 poms...ALOT of pet hair in my house...I go thru 6 vacuums a year!!!! I vac every dang day and go thru a ton of pet hair rollers....:rotfl:

I LOVE to VACUM but HATE animal hair, reading about how much animal hair you deal with made me twitch, LOL! My poor kids will never get a furry pet.
Have you tried the DySON animal, my sister had problems with vacuums from the pet hair but no more since she got her Dyson!

Good Afternoon All!

I'm with you Mandy about loving to vacuum, but hating animal hair or human hair on the floor for that matter!

After all the good vibes about the HDDR, I called to make an ADR, but there was no availability the days I was looking for.:sad1: Will have to plan that for the next trip I guess!

Really looking forward to watching the girls gymnastics - that and the ice skating in the winter olympics are my faves. As far as tv goes though (which I don't watch too much of), I can't wait until Grey's Anatomy comes back on - HUGE fan!

omg...hi guys!! I cannot keep up with you!! we were out cutting down branches and doing yard work...nice cool day here, too!!!

TTYL!!!

Chan

I was doing yard work all day, and I am exhausted! But, my hard work payed off as the trees and shrubs needed a really good pruning (beyond the so-so job the landscaper does) and they look great! After a lot of TLC, the forsythias in my neighbor's yard along our shared fence are finally starting to cascade the way I want them to and all the dead wood is gone. Cut blooms from the hydrangea trees today too - they are big and beautiful!

Started to make packing lists for our upcoming trip! Should I pack lightweight sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, or long-sleeved shirts for the kids? I am a total hot-box and require absolutely nothing with sleeves!:rotfl:

Thank you HCTS for saying that! :thumbsup2

This is for some of my GF friends: I am not the only one that like to vacuum, LOL :rotfl:

NOW, Herecomethesun Do you get giddy when you plug up the vacuum? (Please say yes) :rotfl2:

I am a local and I don't think you need any long sleeves or jackets. Night times are hot still! Anyone else care to chime in with their opinion? :confused3

Hi Mandy!!

I agree that it is warm there even at night in the summer, I never bring coats for the big kids and adults...but I still bring a light sweater for the baby.

Yes she's turning 3, but she seems to get colder than most, so I go with the "if she was an infant she would need a sweater...so she still does" philosophy. :)

The only "jacket" for FL in summer is a rain jacket :)

WE LOVE MAMA M!!! I also just get the flat bread & sangria but it was good!!! I had a salad there, too...and didn't get sick!!! YAY! Colin ordered teh sausages and peppers and he loved it. I treid it and it was YUMMO!!! Not as good as our little Italian place here but here I think they make their own sausages too. AND IT closed!!! :sad2:

Brown Derby is YUMMO too. I agree food in DHS is very limited.

Hmm....Oh..I love whole wheat buns.:goodvibes I remember back when the myth was that Wonder Bread put sawdust in their white bread....LOL...I think I was in grade school....so ICK...that has stuck with me. Wheat bread rocks. I have no issue with Casey using whole wheat buns. Better that than sawdust buns.

TTYL!!!

Annette, your boys are HYSTERICAL!!!!

You guys have been so chatty! I was just popping on.... we had Aidan's family birthday party day. Whew, I'm exhausted.

And I just looked at my ticker.... TWO WEEKS LEFT! wheeee!!!!

isnt there a page which shows all the room layouts and the room numbers of each building...not the map thats on the front of the FAQ?? maybe its only my imagination....is there rooms in SL that face lagoon and Poly????

Oh, a local...I need your opinion. BTW, I have been lurking around here and enjoying the banter...you guys are a fun group!
I will be at GF at Thanksgiving (I see there are a few of us!) and I was wondering about the weather. If it is like it is here in Texas there is no telling what it will be like. Here it could be 90 degrees on Thanksgiving or 50! Is it the same in FL? I am wondering what to pack! Thanks!

Hi, I only lurk here, but I thought I would answer this question for you as we were lucky enough to stay in the SL building last year. There are no rooms there that face the lagoon and Poly. Most rooms face either the marina or pool. I think the room layouts that you are looking for are here (copied from Page 1 of the GF FAQ thread):
Tammi from here on the DIS and a regular on our GF thread has a nice homepage about the GF, her trips, and some floorplans. Its a great resource and we have gotten her permission to post the link so here it is
https://home.comcast.net/~tammimcmanus/
Thank You Tammi
Hope that helps. :wizard:

I have been there several times over the past Thanksgivings....OH YA>..it can be 80 during the day but when the sun sets it drops to 50s. We had that happen & were unprepared. We went on a carriage/sleigh ride at WL about 5:30 pm....it was fairly light & in the 70s when we left...during the ride the sun set and by the time we returned to WL it was COLD! We had to go buy polar fleece sweatshirts for the boat ride back to the GF!!!:rotfl: It got cold SO fast.

Last year it was all over the place with the weather, too. It is usually really nice with low to no humidity but the evenings can get cool. THen again in 2006 we were there for Xmas for 9 nights and couldn't even wear our Santa Mickey hats once because it was so hot and muggy!:rotfl:

Dawn...ok...if you find out that info could you PM me??

Happy Saturday night, all.

Chan:)

Will Do Chan!

Does anyone here have an opinion on where to eat (or where NOT to eat) at DHS? We have tried 50s Prime Time Cafe but would be up to trying something new, too!
