I can't wait to hear about the cabana upgrades! We're planning to go back to the GF in June!! We really loved spending our afternoons at the pool.

Hey, did they have the Wii video games at the pool all summer? One day I found DH and DS4 playing near the lifeguards with a Wii guitar video game. It was near the main pool, by the hair wrapping. They loved it and DH couldn't believe they had the Wii!! It was a huge hit. I just wasn't sure if it was something they did all the time.

Having the Wii in the cabana would be the icing on the cake for DH!!

Yes, they had the Wiis set up for about an hour or so a day just where you mentioned. My family of girls is total Wii newbs so we didn't care. My DH isn't into video games much, either...more into his computer. My son thinks Wii is lame so he didn't care. Although, he was gonna go down and show the little kids how to REALLY play Guitar Hero. I am just curious about the new furniture and really enjoyed Chris and Amanda and having that service was sooo nice.

I wonder when the cabanas will be updated?? Annette??? It isn't something that seems like it would take a long time...I thought by October for sure...I wonder....

Not sure how they play baseball in Illinois but in Major League Baseball, there's this little thing called WILD CARD so keep lookin' over your shoulder, Sox fans! It's gonna be a wild ride!

Not sure if MN doesn't get any newspapers, but last time I checked Boston, Tampa and NY were in a VERY tight race so I wouldn't count on the wild card coming from the AL Central... good thing WE are in first place!!

We had the cabana for the entire day when DH did his Richard Petty thingy. I would have liked having the Wii in the cabana. DS4 likes the bowling game. I think it's a nice addition.

DH was just impressed that the GF had the Wii guitar. It wasn't something you expect to see by the pool.

In complete honestly I hated when MLB added the wildcard spot. That is just giving someone a second chance who wasn't good enough to get there in the first place.

I know what you mean. Some people can buy their way in and others are rewarded for just being nice! Kind of like in baseball!

Well, as much as I would love to sit here all day and talk about baseball

I really should drag myself away from the computer take a shower and run my errands!!

Les- I am sure you will be fine at the Poly. You were just at the GF a few weeks ago and sometimes it is fun to try something new (think of this as a hula girl!!)


M&P - did we ever get a review from you on your most recent trip?? (although you are more than welcome to stay and just chat about baseball!! )

Chan- how is the doggie today?? I know when my dog gets like that we give her some Mylanta and put her on ground beef and rice too and that always seems to clear it up!

All this cabana talk is making me wonder if we shouldn't get one that first day The weather in Decemeber is so iffy though. Plus I hate the idea of putting our pasty white December, Chicago skin at the pool our first day and ending up with a nasty sunburn that lasts the whole trip We can rent at 9o days, right? I still have about a month to decide then...

When did you book the Poly? I knew about your AKL trip but hadn't heard about the Poly one.
Im not sure of your kids ages but if you have tiny ones becareful about the water jet play area for kids. For some reason its very slippery with the little kids feet and the ground isn't padded.

Well if you were staying garden view then yeah i'd worry too, but you my dear will have an exceptional time, i'm sure! You better take pics of that suite! YOU need a tag that says Suite Queen!

According to Chris at the pool (who really knew alot and helped me with a few things and was always right) said the furniture and Wiis are ordered they are going to work on them on the off season so their ready for Spring 2009. It is going to be all four of them!! The rates will be $110 1/2 day $200 full day.

There are 4 Wiis that come out at 12:00 and stayed out until we left at 2:00. The kids go back and forth and really have no problem getting a turn. My boys loved playing against Chris and the lifeguards. They had so many activities at the pool for the little ones, more then we ever saw, it was soooo cute.

Ok!! I am going to post some photos, I really take mostly pictures with us in them, not so many landscape ones. I am a NYorker too and trust nobody, but my family is hugely involved in many charities and our photos are EVERYWHERE. So I think its my turn to share, because when you girls return I LOVE seeing photos and I have 12 months until I go back!!!!!

Thanks for the tip! My boys are 3 and 2 and will LOVE the play area. I'll make sure they always wear their crocs!

We booked this August trip only about two weeks ago. We had such an amazing time in June and it was a unanimous decision that we could not wait until January to go back. So we are having a little six night fix at the Poly before school starts!
