Having a GRAND time - The Official GF Chat Thread PART 2

Evening gals!

Well..it has been a whirlwind weekend. Dh and I were really at eachothers throat on Sunday morning and the girls were acting awful. I looked at him and said let's pack up a few bags and head to St. Louis and take the girls to the zoo. Grandma agreed to watch the new puppy. I grabbed the laptop and and did Priceline for a hotel on the way down. I got the Hyatt Regency at Union Station for $65 (love Priceline!) We had a great dinner sitting outside at Union Station and woke up this morning and headed to the zoo. It was so nice to just get away.

December is such a long wait. I wish we could go sooner but it is not at all in the schedule.

Dh is still in the field(this is why he is so darn crabby) trying to plant beans and all we get is rain, rain, rain! Who knows when he will be done.

vberry I know exactly how you feel. We are going in December also, DH keeps trying to sneak in an October trip, but we are going again in February. I planted my garden today and cut the grass (DH had to work). I'm glad you got away, it was kinda nice to have the day to myself. Have a good evening, December will be here shortly.

You guys have been getting alot of rain down south of us...we had a bad t-storm with rain last night...today hot and humid...can we just have some inbetween???

Happy Memorial Day to all!

It's my birthday today and I've been hinting very strongly that I would love to spend a fews days post-cruise in WDW this Oct. with my "little" brother, his wife and 2 boys. AS a present from my DH, I got the OK so my sister and I will be at the Grand for 3 days after we disembark the Magic!

DH and the teens will have to return to real life but sis and I get to bask in the fabulous glow of the GF!

I have an awesome husband!!!

What will be even more fun is watching my nephews as they see Disney for the first time. I am so excited. This is also the first time for my SIL - she has never even been on an airplane!!! And it's their 15th wedding anniversary and they never had a honeymoon so I can't wait to make some special plans for them.

My "little" brother is actually my godson so that makes me his fairy godmother!

Had to share my excitement!

I took my younger dd shopping too though...went a little nutso. All of a sudden with this warmer weather I can FEEL my July vacation. We went crazy but we bought some super cute vacation clothes. DH took the older DD to see Narnia...neither cared for it. DH LOVES that series and said this was far from the book. They were looking forward to it, but it didn't live up to their expectations.

Good Morning!!

After a hot and muggy wknd., I'm having to bundle the kids up in warm clothes today....so weird! At least the holiday wknd. was nice. The only stores I went to were garden centers.....SO unlike me to not buy clothes!

Saw Speed Racer over the wknd....loved the old cartoon but was pretty bored with the movie....even DS didn't like it and he loves Speed Racer. I'M looking forward to the Sex and the City movie...anyone else? (Sorry to hear about Narnia, Channing).

Good morning all!

Well I am off to walk with my nieghbor.

I did something awful to my back and I hope this will loosen it up!!!! I feel like an old lady today.

bummer about Speed....I saw it when it came out. DH, Jo and I did....we had mixed feelings abotu it. From disappointed to LOVE IT. I was in the middle. haha....I love the cartoon. (Well I did when I was about 6 ) I didn't nap in Spped, though, like I did in Indiana JOnes on Saturday, though. That says something. I passed out for about 15 min in INdie....

Isn't this weather funky?? It feels like a crisp October day today...after we were miserbly hot yesterday. Summer? Where are you??

last year there was no spring here it went from cold to HOT HOT HOT HOT
I hated it. It was very warm here yesterday and it was okay but it went from cold to hot and i hate that. No warm up to get used to it.

Can you kind ladies help? I have contacted the transport company many of you use in Orlando but can't work out which size of car we will need. What is a Lincoln Executive? Is it a stretch limo? or would 2 adults/2 children plus luggage fit in a towncar. (we will have 4 suitcases as we are staying for 2 weeks)

Hi. I don't think you will fit in a towncar. Even with someone sitting up front, I doubt luggage for 2 weeks would fit in the trunk.
Recently when DD, DH and I have flown together and needed a car service, the co. recommends an SUV for us and it has worked well. Same with my last trip when we were 2 adults and 2 children.

I would trust the car service to put you in the right vehicle for your party size and luggage.

I might be wrong but I think the "Lincoln Executive" is a town car. We always do the stretch limo becuase we have so much stuff....we've done it with just the three of us or the five. WE need the space....usually the poor limo driver is even sharing the front seat with a bag.

The car co will tell you which would be best. I would call & speak with them. On the website of the limo co I use, I beileve I saw once the max number of guests per type of vehicle. I didn't think they'd take 4 in a town car but not sure.

kelly, that is so funny....he's so cute - sounds like he'd get a thrill out of Jedi training (with that shark!)....maybe you guys should fly in early for SW Weekend.....I am bummed becuase the Abba group will be there at Epcot til june 29....DH said go ahead and change it but I think he was being sarcastic at this point. LOL...he might be surprised what he finds I've done.

YAY!!! YOu finalized July!!!! So...what's the plan??

My back is fried. I am sitting here with the massager on it with heat. I felt like I was walking like a bow legged cowboy at the end....it was not pretty. I don't know what to do...Popped some Advil and this heat and message....ugh. Getting old sucks.
