I LOVE those shoes, I was thinking about getting the brown too!!!!!!!
I ordered the Aerosoles in tan pearlized...ooh do i love them...comfy and stylish. Good to know you can walk all over WDW wth them!
I'm really surprised that I walked ten days in those shoes without ANY pain whatsoever! I did use the Blister Blocker that you recommended a few times before I broke in the leather. I wore them down there on the plane, then stayed in them for dinner and a few hours in MK. I figured it's only a few hours and we're not walking the entire park. I was shocked that they didn't bother me!! After that, I wore them religiously the entire trip! I wonder if they're out the outlet yet?? Considering we all got them on sale???
I did where the Havianna Flip Flops around the resort, they didn't bother me. But I didn't go very far in them. I learned my lesson the first time. They are not for walking miles in!
I am glad you enjoyed the cabana, I don't know if I referred to it as AC or a fan but it feels good!! We go in July every year and I guess we're used to the heat and spending the day at the pool. With kids the ages they are there is no alternative with school.
I think it was more my little one that got to us. Since he's only been walking a few weeks, he wants to walk everywhere! He made the trip a little more hectic. I had to trap him in the cabana. I was able to move the furniture around and close some of the curtains to trap him in. They also had a cushioned mat to put on the floor for him, which was nice. He was such a little terror at meals too. He just didn't want to sit. He had no interest in the characters, unless they really interacted with him. He just wasn't an easy traveler like my older son was at his age. I think we need to wait for him to get a little older, hopefully a year will make a difference.
It was also a pain that certain rides scared him and never scared my older son. My little one was terrified of Peter Pan, while that was my older son's favorite this trip. So one of us went on Peter Pan, while the other had to ride Small World. We figured it out that 2 spins on Small World equal one Peter Pan with wait time
Mare, they were probably going to CR or WL, I would guess?
Funny thing was the driver announced only two stops when we left the airport. He said loud and clear, first stop Poly, next stop GF. So, where was everyone else going??? It was just odd.
The driver on the return trip to the airport never announced which airlines were at the terminal. So we're sitting chatting with people sitting near us. Then the driver screams the airlines and yells at us that this is our stop. He had our stroller and stuff waiting for us. No one heard him make the first announcement. He was a jerk.
I do have to thank you all for recommending that I save the expired fast passes. I have a funny story: One EMH-AM in MK, the boys and I covered all of Fantasyland in an hour. I went to get fast passes for Mickey's Philharmonic then realized the line was empty so we went right on it. (Both boys didn't care for it, I thought it was cute). When I went to discard the fast passes, I noticed I made a mistake. I had gotten Peter Pan instead of Mickey's Philharmonic. Wow! DS4 loves Peter Pan!! Well, we never made it there that day. That night I was going to throw them out but remembered what you all said about using them. So I told DH and he said let's try it. So the next day we go to Peter Pan and I explain to the CM (a very very elderly man) that my son was sick and we never made it here in time (white lie) He just said "no problem, welcome". Bingo, we're in!! The fast passes were from yesterday!!! The cm collecting them never even looked at them! DH was shocked!!! I only did it that once, but believe me now I'm tempted to pull that one again!! I know this won't work everywhere. We were in the Fast Pass line at the Jungle Cruise (within our time frame) and the CM was checking each pass very carefully. She was young and maybe a new hire. She said to people in front of us that you were allowed to be 5 to 10 mins off, that's it.
I also got a tip from a mom at Epcot during Illuminations. DS4 was dying to ride Test Track. Every time we got to the ride, the fast passes were gone for the day. So on our last Epcot EMH-PM, we headed straight to Test Track. The wait was 90 mins. DH said, just take him. I'll wait with the baby. So he went to sit on a bench and watch Illuminations while I waited in the LONG line. As the line started to move, we were in a holding quo within 15 mins. I asked a mom in front of me if the ride was nearby. She said it's just mins away. (Test Track virgin here). I told her the wait time was supposed to be 90 mins. She said during Illuminations the times are all off. Many people walk off the line (which I saw) to go catch the fireworks also many people don't return with the fastpass that late. We had gotten on line at 9:10 pm and were off it by 9:40 pm. She said that Soarin's wait was 120 mins and they did it within 45 mins. Just good to know, don't go by the wait times during the fireworks. We didn't get to Soarin. Same thing, fast passes were always gone for the day. It was getting to late for the boys that night so we did Nemo one more time (Nemo and Small World I never knew I'd ride so many times!!!) then we called it a night. Oh, DS4 also loved the Mexico boat ride with Donald Duck. He called it the Mexican Small World.
I did get to try the Grey Goose Lemonade Slushie in France, that was refreshing! I could of had a few of those!
Surprisingly, we had a great character meal at Liberty Tree Tavern on our final night. After our three horrible character meals in the beginning of our trip, we really gave up. DH didn't want to go but I sorta insisted since it was the last character interaction for the boys. We waited LONG. We got there at 5pm because of a rain storm and they didn't seat us until 6pm. Our ADR was for 5:45. Thankfully, the food was good. We both had the turkey. DH said he didn't care for the ham or the steak. I didn't try them. DS4 had chicken fingers which he loved. DS1 enjoyed the sweet rolls and mac and cheese. The character interaction was the best we ever had. Chip and Dale played around with all of us. Posing for pictures with DH and me. They're idea. Goofy, Pluto and Minnie came by our table so many times during the meal. The kids just loved it. I really thought this meal was going to be horrible and it was really fun and the food was good (good for a character meal). Right after dinner we were able to ride Pirates with no wait time!! It had just reopened the day before and the lines were crazy! Somehow, there were no lines this night. Maybe the rain scared everyone away?
Narcoossee's was fantastic. The service was really topnotch. DH was just a little disappointed with the size of the lobster tail that comes with surf and turf. He said it should have been a little larger. He also wasn't crazy about the calamari appetizer, it was very spicy. He wished he would had ordered the soup that I had. I also had the tilefish which was delicious. The potatoes were really good. The almond cheesecake was amazing - and at no charge even better! The waiter said please have dessert on us since it's you're birthday! The pot of pressed coffee was heavenly.
For my birthday DH got me 2ct diamond stud earrings, the GF "bling" t-shirt from Summer Lace and the birthday soap from Basin. He shopped all by himself!
You'll be happy to know I didn't use my ziplock bags in the restaurants!! Just for the boys crackers. I did stop at the Wilderness Lodge to pick up some Thomas Bagels and in the mornings would toast them at Gaspies and grab some butter. My boys love their bagels! For the price of one disney bagel (which are yucky!) you can get a whole sleeve of Thomas' bagels!
Oh, I did notice that grilled cheese is not listed on Gaspie's menu, but it is listed on the order form when they take your grill order. My DS1 is a huge grilled cheese fan. It's not a kid's order, just a regular sandwich on sourdough bread. I think it was $3.
That's all I can think of for now. I have our suitcases lying in the middle of our living room! I'm just not in the mood to deal with them!!
DH has an entire mickey bag full of the h20 GF products! He loved them. I think that's why one of our bags were 3 pounds overweight at the airport!!
