It has been bad here weather wise..... torrential down pours and LOTs of lightning..... we have been with out power a few times.....

I hope it is not raining for Chans B-day

Lesley- I also wanted to know how you liked your VIP guide since I am planning on getting one on our next trip. Did you feel it was worth the $$$??

Oh my gosh, we absolutely LOVE our tour guide. He was fantastic in every way. We extended his services for every park day b/c he was so wonderful. In fact, we just decided to go back in January and I am calling tomorrow to make sure we can get him again.

Just some of the great things he did....

*ran ahead and got fast passes for rides
*always got us back in for a second time on the ride if we wanted
*front-row private viewing area on the bridge for the MK parade. it was so amazing!
*always front row seats to the shows (like Indiana Jones, etc)
*picked us up at the GF every morning in a big SUV so we didn't have to take the shuttle bus over to the parks (AK, DHS)
*since he drove us, we got to go behind the scenes at the parks and parked the car at SUPER up close parking. we always got to enter the park thru hidden entrances in the middle of the park. no waiting in entrance lines!
*got us private waiting area and first entrance to shows at DHS (Playhouse Disney)
*it was Star Wars weekend at DHS and COMPLETELY PACKED! They had areas roped off for the Star Wars Parade. He got us thru the roped off areas to get to where we needed
*he even walked our little guy around in his stroller so Jorge and I were able to go on the rides TOGETHER (instead of switching off)

So, I am "cheating" on you guys! We're going back to Disney in January and staying at AKL! I really wanted to stay at the GF but I got the suite I wanted at AKL (THANK YOU KELLY!) so I am very happy! But since we've only been to Disney once, GF is all I know! I know AKL will be very different but I'm looking forward to it.

Oh and 7 nights wasn't enough last time so we are staying 10 nights this time!!

I am really glad to hear that! In what ways is it better/different from the GF? We've never thought about staying there before so I don't know much about it.

hey party girls!!

I am having fun! THANKS for all the bday wishes!!! Vonnie made me the most adorable and cool scrapbook with all our Jose pics and other family pics I had sent her on discs! I was so touched! I knew she was working on it, but it was jus sooooo cool...the cover had SNOOPY (Charles Schulz is my ALL TIME FAVORITE GUY) with MICKEY MOUSE together sitting on Snoopy's doghouse!! My two fave peeps...animal peeps that is, together drawn by C Schulz. It is a super cool thing.

OK...have to say while it's fresh in my mind...LOL....bought 4 rain ponchos here today (yep, Mandy we are getting that !!! It's POURING HERE!!! and I wasn't going to let a little rain ruin my ABBA day!!!) anyway....i know there was discussion regarding how much ponchos here cost...well the four were $31 including the tax...so they are abut $7 each. Not bad - save your receipt becuase if they get damaged they are replaceable.

WHat else???? I know there is something....I will think of it later!

YES i am wearing my bday button!! This guy in GF Cafe this morning asked me how old I am today and i said 42.....he was a hoot. he yelled thru the place that today is a special day becuase (me) was turning 42!! OMG...I could have crawled under the table.

I am probably skipping Kona and opting for rooim service or something else....just don't feel like it. I wnat to totally relax. Hmmm....we ate lunch at whatcha macall it...the icecream place in DTD today...first time ever there....and i had a faux No Way Jose, lol....and it was AWESOME. totally kicked butt. haha...blew B&C away out of the water.

OMG...then we went to epcot and saw my Abba fakes. They were pretty good for fakes. the funniest thing was the over 60 crowd going bonkers and dancing and knowing all the band's dance moves and imitating them!!! OMG....I was cracking up...trying to secretly take THEIR pics! I got some really funny ones. It was a fun thing to do on my bday. I know my family peeps would not have been sitting next to me if not for my special day haha...alothough Jojo really liked the girls' outfits...wait til you see the pics and you'll know why!!! I KNEW she would!

You all seem like a great group! I would like to know from all you GF pros, is Citricos too much for kids? Right now, we have ADR's one night there in 2 weeks. Should I try to do Flying Fish or Yachtsman? I need another sig dining and we did Contemp last year.

Lesli I think I saw you on the Jan 2009 thread, and I think we will be at AKL the same time. We are staying in a 2BR 1/17-1/24. We are so excited for that trip, I just wish they would get Kidani done before then.

I notice a lot of White sox fans on this site. I grew up one, but hubby is diehard Cubs fan, and now my son has followed in his footsteps. Your either Cardinals or Cubs where I live in central IL. His b-day is today like Channings, and for his b-day , my son, him and I are taking the train up to Wrigley Saturday, and the girls are staying with G-ma, and Vanessa is keeping my oldest with her daughter(thanks again V). This little day trip is costing almost as much as our disney trip My son is on cloud 9 about going to Wrigley for the first time, so it will be priceless.

I would like to know who recommends the CRT. Is it worth the price and pain of getting a ressie

Any So you think you can dance fans on the group? That is my fav show right now!!

Well, actually it was my husband, but I tried to save him after he got accused of hating walmart, poor people, etc... People sometime have no clue. I have learned how sensitive people can get when you are just giving an opinion or trying to save them from a bad experience. All, I know is POP will never be in my plans again. Are you a Chicago girl? I am heading your way Sat. We are also going to Melting Pot to eat. I am so looking forward to my chocolate fondue and wine

Evie...we have one son who is a die hard cubs fan and one son who is a die hard white sox fan....it is brutal around here!

Also I LOVE SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.....i have watched all 4 seasons!!!!!!!!!!!

Good evening actually its morning now,

Seems like i missed a lot today.

I took a day off...haven't had one in a while and took the kids to the movies where I ACCCKK caved in and ate some disgusting popcorn.

They wanted to see Wall E.

I have to say i was pretty bored and i love pixar movies. My daughter said it was pretty bad and she was going to warn her friends lol

I did laugh here and there but It just didn't interest me at all.

I did really enjoy the cartoon before the movie. Reminded me on classic Tom and Jerry cartoons.

Its very humid today and we are putting in ACs that are sort of like central air.
I had never heard of them before 2 weeks ago.

They put the AC unit outside and run a wire(?) tubing(?) through the wall to the Vent on the inside.
I have one unit going to three rooms and a second to two rooms.

They are incredibly quiet and I cant wait for them to all be working by Thursday.

Thanks for the review of the VIP service Lesley. I think we are definately going to do this since I have not heard one bad word about it yet other than the cost.

(They have been two very entertaining games I must say- I just didn't like the outcome!)

Yes, that was me posting over there. We'll be at AKL Jan 11th - 21st. Never stayed there before! Is there construction going on?

As for Citricos, we ate there with our boys last month. We had a 7pm dinner time and everything went very smoothly. There were families all around us so no worries! Plus the food was SOOOOOO GOOD!

Evie- I thought about your ressie and I think you should just keep it. The GF is a short trip for you guys instead of going clear over to the Boardwalk area. If the kids are having an off day just cancel it. Also- if the kids are acting up...they will not kick you out! Go and have fun and then let me know how you like it.

Oh by the way- don't forget the slipper desert for dd bday. (ya know me- always keeping my Dis vacations organized- wish the other part of my life was ) The phone number for GF bakery is on the cake thread. I will find it and pm you.

Guys, this is so weird.... I updated my siggy with a ticker and saved it. When I go into my CP I can see the ticker there but it's not showing up when I post. Any idea why???

I think you only get so much room and with the pictures of your little ones it probably will not let your ticker show up. (I think)
