Hey all....bumping up the thread.:goodvibes

I feel MUCH better....I was sooo achy last night I could barely sleep. YUCK...and this morning I was having serious doubts about meeting my friend fro bfast but I ate lame egg whites and toast and I felt fine.

Kristin,
I watched it last night too! OMG........:rotfl: There are no words.....:rotfl2:

Deb.
..I didn't mean to put you off on ordering from GF. I just think they raked up the prices way too high and the delivery service is inconsistent. I think you'd be fine though...the stuff is super cute.

SHel...are you home and warming up?!?! How awful. I hate being cold. I am sure I mentioned that before.....OK...off to get Jojo.

And thanks
- Z is feeling better....but I got home from bfast and he really did NOT listen to me (big surprise:rolleyes: )and take it easy on his stomach. He is paying for it now.:rolleyes1

So...happy afternoon all!! It's almost another Monday down.:thumbsup2

Glad you're feeling better :goodvibes. Sorry to hear Z is not feeling well again :sad2:.

And you didn't put me off to ordering from the GF ;)......I just meant I need to explore all my options before making up my mind . I welcome any and all input you have since you are more familiar with all this stuff than I am :). I would rather you tell me their service hasn't been up to par lately than to find it out later :rolleyes1. Any other suggestions for unique ideas, send them my way :goodvibes. I just think it would be neat to do something extra special for my mom/dad, brother & sister since it's their first time staying on property :wizard:.

Deb :upsidedow

Chan: Happy to hear you and Z are feeling much better :goodvibes

Deb: Are you in connecting/adjoining rooms with your family? What if you bought them something special each night and left it in their room? You could probably go in during turndown service or ask the turndown maid to leave it on their pillow. You can purchase chocolate covered strawberries at the Candy store on Main St (not tuxedo, but HUGE chocolate ones). You could leave some basin mickey soaps and a bath bomb another night, how about a those delish mickey coconut patties another night (I LOVE those!). You can get really creative and I bet a weeks worth of treats wouldn't cost as much as some of those PD treats.

I forgot if it's on that list, but you could also send the Cinderella Slipper dessert. Or any cake at a restaurant. I bet they now have cakes to celebrate anything since it's the year of celebrations! :rotfl:

Another thing I'm very curious about are the new celebration cakes available at restaurants now. I heard they have a treasure chest or princess box. I believe they're under $20.

This is the exciting part of planning!! :goodvibes

Gotta get dinner on the table!

Ya know, I can't remember what I put for any requests :confused3. I think I had noted that we wanted rooms with daybeds but I don't think I requested connecting/adjoining rooms :rolleyes1. But you have some great ideas :thumbsup2. I don't want to go totally overboard but I want to make it a trip they'll remember :wizard:. My mom will be VERY EASY to buy for......and any good chocolate my dad would love so I may not have too hard of a time with this afterall . Thanks for the suggestions :goodvibes.

Tell me more about these celebrations cakes :confused3. I haven't heard about these......that got my attention too ;). Are they only treasure chests/princess boxes or other themes too??? Too many things to think about.....I'm going to be driving myself crazy :rotfl2:.

I just finished cleaning up after dinner and frosting a chocolate cake I made for DH :). I hope everyone is enjoying their night :flower3:. Tomorrow is supposed to be brutal here so I'm thinking it's going to be a stay at home day doing laundry and Dis-ing :yay:. I'm starting to wonder if the boys will have a morning delay . If the weather is what they're saying it's going to be, they may even call school :scared1:.

Deb :goodvibes

Hiya Peeps.....

Another week, another forecast for SUCKO weather...We are under Blizzard Warning right now....remind me why I live in Illinois???

Well I had to catch up cause we had another banner weekend...DH blew out his knee at work..out for a week maybe surgery. You know the saying when it rains it pours??? thats US!:scared:

Chan...sorry bout your tummy..probably from too many girls :rotfl2: You're not PG are you??? :rotfl2: JK...I would have to have my head examined if that happened to me..KWIM???

Deb..I need some ideas too...I have to send a gift to someone thats going to Disney...I think maybe Cookies by Design Yummy! Those GF prices are

Deb: There's no info on the restaurant threads yet about the cakes. I'm just curious, if cakes are going to be VERY POPULAR this year, they must have gotten their act together with the service.

You know, a welcome tote bag filled with goodies from the Disney Florist is nice.

Here's the What Will You Celebrate Link:

Have you discovered the official cake thread? I can't post the link right now, my laptop is about to die!

Here's the link to the cake thread (there's two parts) there's also links to food porn and restaurant photos. I love food photos! :rotfl: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1503884

Oh, skip buying anything chocolate outside of the resort in June!! It will melt the second you step out of a/c!!! :rotfl2:

TTYL,
Mare

Anyone know how much the Cinderella's Slipper Dessert costs? I think I'm going to order it for myself for my birthday at CRT :rotfl2: DH spent $38 on a tiny cheese cake w/the castle on top for me last year. That was yummy, but so small! Then ordered one of those $12 restaurant cakes at Crystal Palace (YUCK, NEVER AGAIN! It was COLD, almost frozen!!) I think I'll order the slipper, it's different and isn't it under $20??

When PD brought the Cindy cake to our room, they left the receipt right next to the cake! That's how I know it was $38 (w/tax and tip!) :rotfl:

/
Mare.....THANKS so much :goodvibes :goodvibes......the links will be a great help :thumbsup2. And I think you're right about the chocolate and June :scared:.....I never thought of that :rolleyes1. Disney sure knows how to get us to spend our money....and believe me.....I'M A SUCKER :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Deb: I was just thinking about last June DS4 got a Mickey Pop from Gaspies then we walked to the marina where he and DH were going to rent a Sea Raycer. He had the Mickey Pop in his hand but didn't open it. He gave it to me before hopping in the boat and told me to throw it out. It melted completely during that short walk!!!!! :rotfl2:

Be careful with chocolate in June!!

You know, I think I'd rather have the personalized family tote bag as a keepsake from the trip than an overpriced platter of strawberries. The price is about the same, but at least you all could have the tote bags as souveniers. I'd prefer carrying a family tote bag than a corny reunion t-shirt (you weren't going to make them wear those were you!  )

Don't feel bad, I'm a sucker too! :rotfl:

Mare.....I checked some of that stuff out and I was thinking the same thing about the tote bag.....those are so adorable :goodvibes. My mom would probably LOVE one of those.....so that is something I'm going to definitely keep in mind for her and my sister :). My dad and brother would probably like something food oriented so I'll have to do some thinking for them :rolleyes1. Kelly emailed me a few good websites awhile back so I've got plenty of options......the only problem is it's TOO MANY options :rotfl: :rotfl:. June is going to be here before I know it!!!!!!

That's too funny about DS and the chocolate . Did he enjoy the sea raycers???? We did those for the first time in Sept. '07 and we had so much fun :yay:. I told my brother we are definitely doing them in June because I know he'll have blast :thumbsup2. My DSs are so excited to go with their uncle so they can show him all the fun things to do in Disney :goodvibes. I just know my mom and dad are going to get a big kick out of the kids showing them around acting like they own the place because we've been so many times :rotfl2: :rotfl2:. And BTW.....no t-shirts here :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Deb :)

Deb: I know, there's way too much to choose from.

Did you ever think of sending the guys off on a Segway Tour? I've been shipping off my DH to them for the past 2 trips :rotfl2: He loves it. It's funny cause he has no interest in the actual "tour" he just wants to ride the Segway. With a Disney Visa, it comes out to about $60 per person (I think:confused: ) They last two hours and they could go at Fort Wilderness or Epcot. While the guys are there, perhaps you can go for Afternoon Tea with your mom and SIL. That was one thing I'm so happy I did with my mom before she died. We had so much fun and took silly photos of us drinking tea "pinky up". It's a great way to relax and unwind. And the food is really good too. :goodvibes

I can keep going on and on.....

(DS1 was fussing, I had to quiet him down and put him back to sleep)

They love the sea raycers, I like downtime when they go so I can read a magazine or just relax. This new 2009 package includes an extra 30 mins for the sea raycers!

Hiya Peeps.....

Another week, another forecast for SUCKO weather...We are under Blizzard Warning right now....remind me why I live in Illinois???

It sucks. I hate Illinois. Plus it's hard to type. THis is crap...My parents are flying into Chicago tomorrow. IT better get straightened out fast or I will be blamed for this blizzard.:rotfl: They HATE Illinois too.

Well I had to catch up cause we had another banner weekend...DH blew out his knee at work..out for a week maybe surgery. You know the saying when it rains it pours??? thats US!:scared:

Dawn I am so sorry!!!! OMG!! :headache:

Chan...sorry bout your tummy..probably from too many girls :rotfl2: You're not PG are you??? :rotfl2: JK...I would have to have my head examined if that happened to me..KWIM???

Um....immaculate conception? Could it be true???!?!?!?!? Because probably TMI but that just ain't happening here.:rotfl:
:rotfl:
Deb..I need some ideas too...I have to send a gift to someone thats going to Disney...I think maybe Cookies by Design Yummy! Those GF prices are

Cookies by Design is great. They have Disney ones, too.

Mare....I hate white chocolate...I also hate that thick goop they put in that slipper:rotfl: ....sorry I don't know the cost. I hope somebody does!! They LOOK cute though.;)

TTYL!

Okay, so I'm guessing it's not the same yummy chocolate mousse that they use at LeCellier :rotfl2:

Mare.......No, I've never thought about the Segway Tour . There are just too many things to do at Disney that going once a year is just not enough :rotfl: :rotfl:. I want to do alot of swimming/relaxing in June but I also want to show my family all the great things there are to do :wizard:. I'll just have to convince them that once isn't enough and they'll have to go back with us in December . All this talk about surprises and things to do is getting me so excited :yay:. Atleast I'm not the only one as I have all you gals to go crazy with over the next 5 months since we're all going around the same time :rotfl2:.

I haven't decided if I'll do the Sea Raycers or just let the guys go.....I may do that and hang back with my mom, dad, and sis because I know my sis won't want to to those . But I know the guys will have a blast :thumbsup2. It's just going to be a great trip and I can't wait :). What day is it you guys are leaving.....I couldn't remember if it was the 19th or 20th :confused3. I wish our trips overlapped atleast a day so we could meet. We just get in Friday the 19th and leave the following Friday the 26th.

Okay, so I'm guessing it's not the same yummy chocolate mousse that they use at LeCellier :rotfl2:

OMG>..lol...It just looks so thick and shiny like crisco colored brown. I don't know...but I don't like white chocolate either..so I just never paid attention to the details or costs....

Hmm....I wonder if Kel knows.

Chan

Chan: I know, it's all for show. I think my little guys would get a kick out of it. I think for WDW, it's rather inexpensive. Last I saw someone posted it was $12, but it may have gone up. They say it's a few bucks less at CRT than at the GF?

How are you feeling? Were you able to eat dinner?

Deb: I know there's a lot to do. But DH and I have decided for us, a little alone time means the world on vacation. We each just need a break from the kids. So he does his Segway tour, I go to afternoon tea and the spa. Afternoon Tea begins at 2pm, I actually went when DH and DS4 were at the pool playing with the Wii and DS1 was napping and came with me. No one knew he was there and he slept for two hours! I just relaxed and read gossip magazines! :rotfl:

We leave June 19 around 3pm. What time do you arrive?

Chan...OMG your parents are going to be coming in tomorrow????? Hopefully they can get in with this weather....how do you feel bout that??? Love to hear it ;)
~D

Chan.......Are your parents coming for another visit :confused3? Hopefully they'll make it in ok without any delays or troubles . Of all days they are scheduled to come in when they're predicting a BLIZZARD :scared1: :scared1:. I just heard the news say this week will be the COLDEST weather we've experienced in FIVE YEARS......YIKES   .

I'm so sorry about your DH . I hope he doesn't need surgery :grouphug:. That's usually what happens here......if one things happens, a MILLION things happen :headache:.

I'm with you on the weather........TOTALLY SUCKO . I am so NOT looking forward to tomorrow with the way they're talking.........it's going to be a MESS :sad2:. I think it's time to move south :rotfl: :rotfl:.

I've gotten alot of good ideas from Mare (as you can see we've been pretty chatty ).......and Kelly gave me some websites for some neat things :goodvibes. My head is spinning because there is SO MUCH to choose from .

DS just looked outside and said "DAD....COME HERE!!"....that CAN'T be good......it must be snowing pretty hard :scared:.

I better get going....DH is calling me and wondering where I'm at :rolleyes1. Have a good night gals :cloud9:.

I hear ya......we've settled down alot since we started going in 2001 ;). We spend alot more time at the resort and just hanging out and relaxing and not so much on the go to the parks .

We don't have our airline tickets yet but we will most likely take an early morning flight out and arrive at MCO somewhere around 10:30-11:00 am :rolleyes1. If you are still around the resort when we arrive, I'll have to try and find ya and say hi :).

I better go this time.....DH is yelling for me again......MEN  :headache: :rotfl:

Deb :flower3:

Chan...OMG your parents are going to be coming in tomorrow????? Hopefully they can get in with this weather....how do you feel bout that??? Love to hear it ;)

I am ok with it...actually my stepdad's mom passed away late last week...she lives in Freeport....so they are flying into Chicago, driving out there for 2 nights, and then coming back here to visit and they will be here for JOjo's bday....so that is good for her. It's a QUCk trip - only one night here then flying back Friday. Sad though. My step dad's mom was awesome. THE BEST baker! I mean the BEST. And she was just like Mrs. Santa Claus. Very sweet kind lady. Both his parents were teachers in a poor area of IL YEARS ago and the stories are amazing...they were such generous good people. Now they are both gone. But they were great and made impressions on a lot of kids.

My parents are NOT going to be happy about this weather......I am going to hear gripes. I cannot believe DEB heard it's gonna be the coldest weather in years...just when they come from their beautiful AZ.

Chan: I know, it's all for show. I think my little guys would get a kick out of it. I think for WDW, it's rather inexpensive. Last I saw someone posted it was $12, but it may have gone up. They say it's a few bucks less at CRT than at the GF?

THanks Mare...I am feeling MUCH better...I felt so icky yesterday off and on but I was sooo sooo achy it was hard to get comfy and sleep...once i did though I was a rock. This morning it was queasy icky bluck but I had eggwhites ad toast out with my friend after a mega dose of Zantac and I felt just fine.

/QUOTE]

I am sad about this weather.....I dont' know what will happen with their flight....the funeral is Wednesday and i heard we are having this blizzard and then MORE SNOW Wednesday!!.
