Speaking of shopping..there is 30% of at Gap all weekend. They had some really cute stuff for the girls and got myself some stuff too!

Been there, done that.:rotfl:

I LOVE Gap! BUT....they raised their prices for this sale!!! I ordered a bunch of things last weekend...and then looked at their site with the 30% off it comes to about what I paid last weekend!:rotfl: Sly dogs.

Where is the cold temps?!!! its 61 here in NY and it feels humid.... I still WANT SNOW!!!.
:scared1: He said that word again.:rotfl2: It is 61 here too and I love it.

I thought i was the only one to get up at early for grocery shopping
I go on sundays and im at the store by 7am. Its worth it...i hate crowds...and at that time there is only 2 other people in the store..
I shop on line, never any crowds.:thumbsup2

Here is my packing tip: Before I leave, I know what I want to wear each day of my trip.

Suitcase 1= Days 1-3
Suitcase 2 = Days 4-6
Suitcase 3 = Days 7-9
Suitcase 4 = toiletries, shoes etc.

Kristen, I like your packing plan and would like to try it, but how do you plan ahead when you don't know what the weather will be like? I read yesterday was 85 degrees but now it's going down to 60s with lows in the 40s! It can be anything! I'm so stressed about overpacking, but want to bring something for every temp. How do you plan for this???

I'll be in my pj's ordering my groceries.:rotfl2: Off to do my grocery shopping.:surfweb:

I only order groceries online when we vacation. I love having the groceries arrive a few minutes after we come home. Our grocery service "Fresh Direct" keeps my list saved. All I have to do is pick a delivery date and time. Once on a cruise I forgot to order my groceries, there I was sitting in the internet lounge in the middle of the ocean getting groceries :rotfl2:

So, DH and DS4 went to the country house this morning. I wasn't up for it. It's so dark out and raining. I need to start packing. I just really hate the florida weather this time of year. It's just so extreme!

Kelly: Sorry to hear about your son, my DS4 is just getting over his second cold. It's horrible to see them so sick. Hope you find time to at least lay down and rest, if not nap. I've been saving the last few Podcasts to listen to in WDW. Which you reminded me, I need to download them on to my ipod.

Mandy: Being the resident Floridian I know you must hate this question, but I need to ask Can you please give me a weather update and some packing suggestions. For T-giving Day we're having our photo shoot at the BC (due to location) I bought the boys polo-style shirts and khaki shorts. I'm also planning on packing long khaki pants just in case. Do you think I'll need long sleeved shirts too just in case? I was hoping for nice weather but you just never know. I also wanted them in collared shirts since we'll be having T-giving dinner at Yachtsman's Steakhouse, and it's the dress code. (Besides, they look so preppy handsome :lovestruc)

One last question, does anyone know anything about the roasted chestnuts at the GF? I read somewhere that at Christmastime they hand them out in the lobby. My DH LOVES chestnuts! I've been buying him a pound every week at the grocery store. I'd love to surprise him in WDW with chestnuts! We'll be at the GF on 11/24 for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Will they have them out then or is that too early? Maybe they bring them out in Dec.

Chan, I have my GF shopping list! Flip Flops, Bath Bombs, Shampoo for DH, Gingerbread shingles and sparkly sneakers for my niece (I had only seen them in M.M.) She's on a sparkly shoe kick lately :rotfl: How's the stolen? I've never had stolen before. I thought it might be nice to bring something home and enjoy it on Christmas Day from WDW.

I want at least 40 degrees by the time Thanksgiving rolls around.
You cant eat Turkey and mashed potatoes when its 60 degrees. :)

shop online for groceries? pretty cool....

***Accckk just went up one degree now its 62!

GoofyGal There have been about 3 threads recently on toilet paper!!! There is also one asking about bidets in the rooms at the GF...hilarious...

I cannot believe people actually have time to think about toilet paper!! :rotfl2:
My SIL always asks about bidets. My ILs lived in Italy for many years and to them it just belongs there. She's always surprised when places don't have bidets. It's just not an american thing.

I LOVE Gap! BUT....they raised their prices for this sale!!! I ordered a bunch of things last weekend...and then looked at their site with the 30% off it comes to about what I paid last weekend!:rotfl: Sly dogs.

Chan

I HATE when they raise the prices for a sale!! I have a Gap store three blocks away from us that I visit too frequently. :rotfl:

:scared1: He said that word again.:rotfl2: It is 61 here too and I love it.

Here too! I hope it stays warm for another two weeks so the weather in FL will stay in the 80s! DS4 is dying to go to a waterpark. For him, I want just one day in the 80s.

Either you guys are busy - early chatters today or I am being a lazy butt. I am still in my robe. Ignoring the house work that is never ending. GRRR!

Sending DH to the store with a pile of coupond..he would do it if I asked him, He would not be happy about it though. In all likelyhood he would go, use one coupon, then tell me he did the little piles and used them all. LOL

Sending DH to the American Girl store...he would definetly go. 2 reasons: 1- it is for his baby princess 2- It would keep me out of the store and probably save him several hundred dollars. :)

Ordering groceries online? This is when I get jealous of my dinky little town and want to move somewhere with "amenities." Groceries online is like roomservice for the house. Gotta love it!

Kel- take a nap :wizard: you're making me tired!

Siobhan- I WANNA GO TO WRENTHAM!!! Liz Claiborne, Tommy Hilfiger, COACH!!! Crying here!!! I need to make a trip south soon!!! Hummm...AG store is only about 30 mins from Wrentham...REALLY need to head south soon!!!

Groceries online is like roomservice for the house. Gotta love it!

Love that line! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I never thought of it, but your right!

We're spoiled here in the city. Everything is within blocks for our apt. Chinese or pizza is delivered within 15 mins. The second you place the phone down, I swear their at the door.

At our country house in the Poconos, we're 6 miles from the main gate, then 7 miles to the small town. There's one of everything. The chinese food is actually really good. They're originally from China Town here in NYC. But to get food it takes forever! It's like almost 45 mins round trip to get the food and bring it home.

My good friend who also lives in Manhattan and has a home in another community in the Poconos (don't get me started, she has a 6,500 sq. ft "weekend mansion" on the golf course! It's huge and gorgeous!) gave me a tip, leave the Pocono menus in the car and order dinner on our drive up from the city. How come I never thought of that??:confused3

Speaking of outlets, I need to hit the Coach outlet. They have some amazing sales. I'd like to get DS4's two teachers each a nice Coach tote for xmas. They each have ugly canvas bags that are about to burst!:rotfl: Plus I need to purchase something for the school's upcoming auction.

The two outlets I go to (The Crossings in the Poconos and Woodbury Commons in NY) are opening at MIDNIGHT this T-giving for the black Friday sale. That's crazy!! I'll be fast asleep at the BWI :rotfl2:

I did get some good deals lately. I had to get DS4 a winter coat and got him one from Polo on sale for $65 from $159. I got myself a Coach card holder with strap on sale for $7.99 from $45!!! Just for my Disney room key! :rotfl: Oh and I got myself a pair of Geox shoes from $165 for only $40!!! Mommy's first pair of Geox!! My boys have been wearing them for years!

I really need to go outside in the drizzle and walk to the corner to drop off our jackets at the dry cleaners. Ugh, I don't want to move from the sofa!

Hey gals!

I am making a rare appearance for a Saturday!! :rotfl: DH took DS into work for a couple of hours so it is nice and quiet. I feel prety blah, though- scratchy throat, tired etc. I feel a nap coming on in my future!!!

V- I am JEALOUS that you got your DME stuff!!! Hey super wonderful TA, I am at 20 days and counting- where's my stuff?? :flower3: :rotfl:

Mare- Nice to see you again!! :goodvibes Usually what I am wearing to the parks at this time of year can be modified to cooler weather if needed. I just throw a couple of extra pieces of warmer wear in the first suitcase and hang it in the closet when we arrive. Then I can grab it as needed. I plan for layers at this time of year, i.e. short sleeve knits with tanks and shorts. I can easily change that to jeans or throw a denim jacket or hoodie on if I need to. I learned my lesson in 2006 planning on cold weather that never showed up!!! I brought home a 29" suitcase stuffed with warm stuff we never wore!!! Now I will just keep adding the layers as needed rather than planning for actual cold weather complete outfits, KWIM? Besides, that forecast will change 3 times between now and when you actually leave, and then be completely off for the end of the trip anyway :rotfl:

RE: Chicken Pox- do the kids not get them with the vaccine or just a mild case?? :confused3 DS has had at least 2 shots for this that I can recall... Chicken pox is NOT what we need this month!!! I want to be healthy for the trip. Plus DS was sicker than a dog Dec 23-24 last year (and only marginally better on the 25th) so he doesn't need to be sick for Christmas 2 years in a row :sad2: Those flu shots better work!!!

Hi to everyone else!!!

TTYL!

Kristen, enjoy your "quiet day".

I know, for some reason 40 degrees in FL does not feel the same as 40 degrees in NYC! :rotfl: Last year I packed all warm clothes with a few short sleeves here and there and got it all wrong! It wasn't as cold as I expected it to be. One evening was FREEZING, but the rest of the week was mild. Ugh, this is the one thing I hate about traveling this time of year. When you go in June, you know what to pack. If it was just DH and me I wouldn't care, it's the boys that I'm concerned about. I have this "be prepared for everything" mommy guilt!:)

I missed something, Kelly, your son has chicken pox?! I didn't know the kids still got them. I remember getting them as a kid, but my boys had their shots for them. And that flu shot never seems to help them. They've both been sick lately. Flu shot and all. They both have runny noses and DS4 has a cough he can't get rid of. I'm hoping it will go away soon, I don't want him sick on vacation.

He was sick last Nov and it was horrible!! We discovered he had coxsackie (sp) "hand and mouth disease" while on the phone with the Dr from Comic Rays. A few kids in his class had it and it spread. Well, talk about a horrible trip. He couldn't eat all week from the sores in his mouth. He didn't understand why either (being only 3). He would go to bite a chicken nugget then scream in pain. Poor kid. He lived on Mickey Pops that week, which mommy had to eat all the chocolate off first (not so enjoyable after a few of them).

Ever since then I'm a hand sanitizing nut! The DR told me on the phone to have plenty of hand sanitizer on hand. Well, I forgot it. Do you know how hard it is to buy hand sanitzer in WDW!! After several days, we finally found some in the BW's general store (that place has everything due to the DVC - if you're ever looking for something hard to find, look there!).

So this trip I stocked up on the Germ X pens from Walmart. My DS4 likes to smell his hands afterwards, then laughs at me and says he's going to lick it! I don't panic anymore cause the Germ X brand doesn't contain alcohol.

Ugh, I was really planning on getting my butt off the sofa and heading outside and DS1 just passed out leaning against me!!

It's up to 68 here now. I'm lovin it.:thumbsup2 The groceries are delivered and they put them on my kitchen table. I am still trying to talk them into putting them away, but so far they aren't going for it.:rotfl2:

Can you believe that I have never been to Wrentham. I need to make a trip up there someday. A couple of weeks ago we went to LLBean and the outlets near there. Very disappointing, the outlets, not LLBean. The Coach store was very small and they didn't have much in it. I love Liz Claiborne too. Haven't been able to get any since Filene's went out of business. Macy's doesn't carry it. We have a Liz Claiborne outlet near here, but they don't have much in it.

goofygal Sending somepixiedust: pixiedust: that you have warm weather. Ordering groceries from the middle of the ocean. :rotfl2: I have never done that one. I order groceries before I go on vacation too. I always wait until the next day to have them delivered though, in case we get delayed.

Good Afternoon Gals and Marvel too!

Maxie Thanks for that info on the Yankee Candle ornament...it is on my "things I need to get" list...:thumbsup2

Vanessa Are you taking pictures for a holiday photo...I have done this every year since the kids were little...they're starting to squawk though now that they are older...every year I say OK just one more year....;)

Kelly so sorry your DS is not feeling well...you can get the chicken pox after having the vaccine...but a much milder case...this happened to my nephew...cant believe how much you got done after being up sooo early...I was tired just reading about it... Hope you are spending the after noon resting....or maybe enjoying those Twilight books..

Kristin Enjoy your solo day...how nice...

Deb What a girl getting up so early to make sandwiches for your guys...mine would have gotten soggy ones so I could sleep:rotfl:

To all of you shopping girls...:woohoo: this time of the year is the best for coupons...free shipping offers...not that I need any incentive....I love the outlets...love the coupons...love to shop...:yay:

Have a nice day all...TTYL:flower3:

That's wonderful they bring them to your table!! Mine come in shipping boxes and the doormen hold them for us in a refrigerated storage room in the lobby. We just call the doormen to bring them to us after we've settled in. The last shipping time slot is from 8pm to 11pm. So we should be home when they get delivered.

This trip I have to order groceries, I don't always depending on the days of our trip. This trip is Monday to Monday then that Tuesday is a regular busy school day, work day and even my little one has his preschool prep class that day. I'll have no time to get groceries as we land at 8pm Monday night. I just order the basics and try to stock up on juice boxes, school snacks ahead of time.

I love Liz Claiborne too. Haven't been able to get any since Filene's went out of business. Macy's doesn't carry it.

The Macy's here in NY carries Liz Claiborne. DH LOVES Claiborne for men. He goes to Macy's Herald Square, he says they have the best selection. I know Bloomingdales carries them too.

I had no idea that Filene's went out of business. Now that you mention it, the one at the mall up in Nyack is now a Macys. Do they still have Filene's Basements??

goofygal Sending somepixiedust: pixiedust: that you have warm weather. .

Thank you :flower3: I appreciate the pixie dust :)

Channing Have you seen the Vera Bradley holiday catalog....I think there might be some things in it that you might need (if you dont already have them!!):rotfl: Havent seen the Mediterranean blue before....very nice...kind of beachy looking:)

I get emails periodically from Vera but I haven't seen the catalog!!! I did see the med blue ornaments in the email pretty!! I am more traditional red/green though...but that is a very pretty idea.:goodvibes Are you putting any Vera on your Christmas Wish List??

I did see they are having a very nice clearance at the Vera website....got an email about 60% off. I haven't really gone to look though. I was skimming on Ebay today as a matter of fact to see what's out THERE.:goodvibes

Oh the advantages of living in the city. I don't have a doorman to store them for me. They won't get delivered if we are not home. They would probably leave them on the porch, since we have been customers for years and they know us, but their policy is not to leave them.

Filene's was owned by the same company that owns Macy's. They closed all of the Filene's and made them Macy's. The Macy's here doesn't carry Liz Claiborne, maybe the larger one in Boston might. They have some RL, but not a lot for women. I really misss Filene's. There are still Filene's Basements. They were sold several years and were not owned by Filene's when Macy's took over.

If Macy's doesn't carry Liz Claiborne and limited RL what do they carry then? Their own brands? I think they stopped carrying CK too. I don't shop in Macy's too often as it's all the way down on 34th St. I have Bloomingdales 3 blocks from our building, I practically live in Bloomies! :goodvibes They carry everything! RL, CK, Burberry, Lacoste, etc... All our favorites. Plus I love their kid's dept. The sales are amazing! I got DS4 Rock and Republic jeans that were $150 for $39!! :woohoo:

Of all the large department stores I think Nordstroms has the best selection...and a great kids department too...

Well girls I could chat about shopping all night but DH is taking me out to dinner...no cooking tonight:)

Hope you all have a good night:flower3:
