We are planning on using Wegoshop to get some groceries while we are at disney. They are great! Problem is that we always have too much gatorade and water, ect. It is still a huge savings because a case of water costs about what 2 bottles costs in the park. My question is... WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE LEFT OVERS?? We can't take them home, cause we are flying. Have any DISers ever met up and received left over unopened bottles of water, individually wrappped snacks, ect???? I can't stand the idea of wasting all of that stuff. We usually just leave it in the room. Will Mousekeeping at least get some use out of it???

We sometimes take our leftover, UNOPENED drinks to the vending machine area and leave them there. My hubby inherited a case of unopened Corona's from a man he met at the pool bar. We have also left them in the room for mousekeeping.

we were TOLD that if we leave unopened water for the next family in the room that mousekeeping will leave it there. I generally leave a note telling the next family it is a gift for them and to enjoy it.

I dunno if it is true that they leave it...I hope so. I never thought of leaving it in the vending area...that's a great idea, too.

I would try to give it directly to someone. If I saw a bunch of drinks in the vending area, I think I'd be hesitant to take them not knowing who they belonged to or why they were sitting there. I would probably stick my head out the door before leaving and offer them to someone who was walking by. If someone did that for me, I would happily take their unopened drinks and snacks.

I tend to leave things in the laundry rooms. I make sure and leave a big note saying, "Free to good home" or something of that nature. I have left drinks, unopened snacks, detergent, and paperbacks. I figure it would be nice to "score" something good while doing an unpleasant task.:goodvibes

I've seen posts a few times here on the boards of Disers that have "leftovers" and are looking for someone to meet up with them so that they can give the "leftovers" to someone. I think its a great idea and will be doing it, if we have anything left, on our next trip! :grouphug:

I'm liking the laundry room idea.

I figured since I have a later ME pick-up, I would put the leftover waters in with the carry-on luggage and offer it to someone I see checking in. Would much rather pass on some pixie dust than have to buy water in the parks towards the end of the trip.

I stayed at Bay Lake about 3 weeks ago. I happened to be walking in the hallway where the Castmember Lounge/lunchroom/thingy was. Anyway, I saw members of mousekeeping as they were leaving for the day. They had the large, opaque trash bags that they use in the rooms...I saw frozen pizzas, new paper towels, water, soda, etc.

At least some one was using someone's leftovers and they weren't getting thrown out!:goodvibes

I usually leave unopened leftovers in the room along with a note for Mousekeeping telling them that I appreciate all that they did to make our trip special and i hope that they can use our extras :thumbsup2.

I Never thought of the laundry room idea! I like that one the best, I think. I like the idea of Mousekeeping getting the extras, but they aren't exactly at the mercy of the Disney Prices for things either. I would rather help out a fellow vacationer.

Not sure where you're staying, but I've heard the valet workers at the deluxe resorts would love the extra drinks! (and probably the snacks, too)

Have a fun trip!

I was told that Mousekeeping could take them if you leave a note saying it was for them.

Of course, this goes along the lines of ask 1 question to 100 people and get 100 different answers :goodvibes

But that's what we do.

When I fly home I usually go to the check in area and offer my leftovers to someone waiting in line to check in. I have given many bottles of water and juice to family members who are very appreciative. Some offer to pay me but that is not what I am looking for, I want to get rid of the stuff to someone who will need it. I also do the same with the stroller I buy. I get one of those cheap $15 strollers at Walmart and give it to a family who is checking in and tell them to pass it on.
I only gave beer once, 4 of the 6 pack were left. Beer and Bacardi coolers are not usually left over when my trip is done, usually only water and juice.
When I drive home I go to Walmart and stock up on more, especially the Bacardi coolers. They are $4.29 at Walmart in FL AND $6.99 at home. plus a $.05 deposit on each bottle. Last trip in July I came home with 20 4 packs. They are all gone now so I guess I have to drive down to FL. Hey sounds good, I would save $1.70 per 4 pack.
I don't get involved in the swaps, way too risky the way the fridges seem to get lost, I buy one of those styrofoam coolers and fill it with ice each morning.

I recently read the idea of leaving them with the Bell Services cast members. I liked that one!

On our last trip DH just stuck his head out the door and spotted a family with children "down the way" and took our leftovers to them...they were very appreciative. I love doing little "pay it forward" type things especially in Disney...Spread the Magic!!!!

Food items don't apply to us cause we drive but we always take pool toys, new ones from the Dollar Tree, nothing expensive. The kids use them for the week and then we find a family to pass them off to. One time we had an umbrella stroler for our youngest and knew beyond Disney we wouldn't need it so we passed it off to a family at the pool then too.

No, they're at the mercy of the Disney paychecks.

Usually, I just leave the unopened stuff behind for mousekeeping.

We have left stuff for Mousekeeping and once walked through the lobby as we were leaving and gave something to a family checking in.

DD received a ballon once from a child who was flying home and couldn't take it. She enjoyed it while we were there and then passed it on to another child when we left.
