Have your kids noticed the princesses are different people?

I have PSB booked and CRT the next day. I also have a very bright DD5. Obviously, the princesses that are duplicates are not the same people. Has anyone's child noticed that Belle or Sleeping Beauty are different. I am thinking of cancelling PSB because my daughter is on the fence of believing if the characters are real and I don't want to ruin it for her, YET!! Thanks for any tips!!

We have the same situation coming up in Dec. We have CRT and PSB back to back- just the way it worked out. I'm hoping DD5 won't notice, but what if she does? Like you, I don't want to ruin it for her. Last year we saw Jasmine and Aurora two different times- two different people and she didn't notice anything. Anyone with experiences on this one?

We did CRt and PSB in August with a 5 year old, she never said anything about them being different, but ... we had seen Arura and Snowwhite at crt and then when they came to the table at psb she said "don't you remember you signed my book yesterday" she got really peved they wanted to sign again.

Anyone been to StoryLand in North Conway, NH? Well, they have a "castle" and they have a pumpkin ride to the castle. When you get to the top you are greeted by "Cinderella". On our trip, when we got to the castle we were greated by an Aftrican-American girl dressed in a hideous gown. She says, "Hello...I'm Cinderella". ???

Now I am all for diversity but my girls (then only 4) were very confused to say the least! At the time they had never been to Disney, but had certainly seen Cinderella movies, etc. I had to explain to them that this girl was pretending and the real Cinderella lives in the big castle at Disney in Florida.

They are now starting to figure out that characters are just people "dressed up". I try to avoid the question and I just say "I think they're real". :D

Yes oh my my son at the time was 4yo and had done a lunch at morroccan pavillion in epcot enjoyed the floor show was very entertaining my son for some reason really liked the belly dancer
but leaving after lunch who was outside Jasmine well guess who was jasmine thats right the bellydancer he told her he really liked her dancing she played dumb of course but we got a laugh something about that dance really left a impression on him we still kind of tease him about it :teeth: :earseek: :hyper:

Okay, it sounds like she will figure it out. Maybe I will cancel PSB or try for it later in the week, but I don't know if a couple of days will make a difference. I know my son would like to see Mulan though....................decisions, decisions....

My youngest son was nearly 6 and he immediately knew that the MGM Aladdin/Jasmine was NOT the same Aladdin/Jasmine who rode the Aladdin ride at MK the day before. He didn't seem upset but told me that he thought the girl at MGM looked like the real one because her hair looked real. I asked what he meant and he said that Jasmine had a wig on in MK because he saw her fixing it after the ride, lol. Kids don't miss much in my opinion.

We took my niece to the PSB in Norway during our May trip. She met all the princesses, including Jasmine and Belle. A few days later we were touring the World Showcase and we saw a different Jasmine with Aladin. She didn't notice a thing. Then we went to Frace and saw Belle and Beast. Well the Belle at PSB wasn't very friendly, really shy and standoffish, nice, but not overly so. The Belle in France was WONDERFUL!!! She was so personable and sweet. When we left Jonna said "I really like that Belle." So, I'm still not sure if knew there were two different Belles, or if she just liked that encounter better.

Anyway, your daughter could notice two different princess actresses at a lot of places. I'm not sure I'd cancel, I might just pretend they were the same

My Dd started noticing about the time she was 5.5-6yo...but she doesn't seem to care. :D She LOVES seeing them and getting pics.

We really got screwed when we were there in Dec....we went to see Ariel with the whole family, did pics, autographs, etc. Well, when we were done and out of line, we remembered we had forgotten to take pics of just Dd & Ariel together for her Ariel room, so back into line we went, just her & I. While standing in line, Ariel had to take a "swim break"...well, as I'm sure you can guess, when she came back from her break, and we walked around the corner, Dd just looked up at me like :earseek: this is not the same Ariel that was JUST here. I just kind of ignored her, but when we were done and walking away, she kind of giggled how that was not the same Ariel, but she did like the 2nd one better, she thought she was prettier, etc. Even now, when we look back at the pics, she'll tell people about the "2 Ariel's" she saw back to back. :teeth:

I guess I am a little confused? There shouldn't be any duplicate princesses between PSB and CRT. The ONLY princess at CRT is Cinderella, and the ONLY princess excluded from PSB is Cinderella, so I don't see how these two breakfasts could cause much confusion...other "encounters" in the park, yes. But these two shouldn't give you any grief.

Princesses appear at both. Cinderella will never (unless an emergency situation) appear at PSB and Ariel never appears at either. Both breakfasts "guarantee" 5 characters. When we were there last year, CRT had Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Snow White and Mary Poppins. PSB had Aurora, Belle, Snow White, Jasmine and Mulan. So there is a great chance of princess overlap! I noticed teh difference, but DD4 was just TOO EXCITED to notice or care. Have a great trip,

BTW.... We are doing both again.

Wow, thanks for clearing that up!! I have not been in years, but when I spoke to the CM while making my reservation, she went into GREAT detail to explain to me that the ONLY princess at CRT was Cinderella, and then when I made my ressie for PSB, the CM told me Cinderella would NEVER be at PSB. Just goes to show that CM's (although well meaning) don't always have all the info!!

That explains my confusion!! Thanks again,

We did both two days in a row the end of August and my DDs did say a word. The Snow White and Belle and Sleeping Beauty were duplicates but they did look very much alike. Not like the Snow white in the parade! She looked very obviously different! She had chubby cheeks and just look so different.

Anyway, we've come across this issue in the past as my older DD is 8. She's noticed but what she has always believed is that there is only one 'real' one and the rest are helpers. The 'real' ones are at MK. Cause how can Belle be at CRT, PSB, in the parades, at her show at MGM and in EPCOT in Paris??

What I do at the duplicate breakfast is hide the autograph book for the duplicate princesses and I always tell the Princess "we just saw you yesterday at CRT" and then they play along and say something like "it's great to see you again".

I have seen a picture of that Snow White posted on the boards here. You're SO right...she does look VERY different from any other Snow White I have ever seen!

Glad to know it's not just me! I really was afraid my younger DD might actually notice that one!

My DD (6) noticed that the Fairy Godmother at CRT was different on two different trips. I told her that there was only one FG just like only one Santa Claus but that sometimes she needs a day off, so they have another FG come to help out, just like the various mall Santas. She knows they are different but that they are "helpers" so she is cool with it.

yesterday, my dd5 was looking at pics of prince charming at 1900 park fare from october and some from march, and she said i like this prince charming better, i tried to play it off, saying, oh there's only 1 pc. she just gave me a look like "yeah right" then she said maybe the real one was sick one day and someone took his place that day!

WHAT??? YOU MEAN THEY ARE DIFFERENT??? C'MON there's only 1 Cinderella, 1 Belle, 1 Snow White????? RIGHT????

The only princess GUARANTEED to appear at CRT is Cinderella. The identities of her friends who appear with her are not guaranteed from day to day, so if you're looking for Aurora or Belle, you might see them or you might not.

I would assume that folks who made reservations at PSB because they couldn't get CRT have often inquired to see if Cinderella will appear at PSB (which she doesn't), so the CMs are now just saying as part of their spiel that Cinderella doesn't appear there.

Last year DD got Mary Poppin's autograph at the Storybook Breakfast, we saw her again and she wanted another autograph because she thought she talked like her aunt (she had a really good British accent!) Well, "Mary" happened to notice that DD already had her autograph and called her by name (it was in her book) and said she was so glad to see her again! I think they do a really great job with the characters so they all act similar. We met Peter Pan a few years ago and I swear he WAS Peter Pan, absolutely perfect!!!
A few years ago we asked if Ariel was at any Character meals and the CM said "Of course she can't be since she's a mermaid and needs to be near the water" We're like oh yeah, that's right! I was actually believing it myself.
