Have you/would you leave your children at Disney Kids Club?

I am really protective and my kids have only ever had family members watch them. H just suggested that we leave the kids at the BC kids club and go to dinner one night. He thinks that the kids ages 7 (almost 8 ) and 5 would have a great time. I told him I'm really uncomfortable leaving them with strangers in a strange place and I wouldn't be able to enjoy our evening out. I'm just curious of anyone has any experience with the kids clubs and if they are well supervised and if your children had a good time?

I was like you in 2011, we left our almost 3 year old, 5 and 7 year old at the kids club at the Poly. We made our way to Via Napoli to have dinner and sangria. I enjoyed but was worried about them!! Turns out we rushed back and they had an amazing time, and didn't want to leave. :) The trip we just got back from the begged us to go to the Sandcastle Club at the BC where we were staying, but we just didn't have time for it!!:headache:

I say go for it!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the input! I told DH I will think about it-we have an ADR at Via Napoli at 8 p.m. one night and I think that's probably when we would consider leaving them at the Kids Club. At most they would probably be there for 2 hrs and I just looked at some pictures of the club and it looks pretty nice. I think we'll play it by ear and decide once we get there.

Epcot is so close, you can walk over there in no time from the BC. Just don;t be like me and worry so much that afterwards you are kicking yourself! ;) Seriously they will be fine and probably ask to go back the next night! Good luck and have a great trip!!

I am also like you. On our last trip (April) we used the kids club at AKV and they LOVED it!!!! My kids are 8 and 10 and I always thought about using the kids clubs each year, but couldn't bring myself to do it. Like you, I worried... Now I'm kicking myself that I didn't take advantage of this sooner. My kids didn't want to leave and are already talking about going again next year.

If you did not want to leave at kids club (although prob pretty nice), another option is the daily kids pirate cruise that leaves and returns to/from yacht club and sails around the lake/epcot. Prob takes about 2 hours. This could maybe lessen any guilt b/c then the kids are getting to go on a special trip and not just being "stuck" somewhere, although most like the clubs. Also, although clubs very well supervised, an open boat is a bit more public, if really concerned about safety, etc (of course then also hafe to worry about water safety)

Hi- we used the Sandcastle Kids Club at the BC a few years ago when my son (only child) was 5. We too had only used family for babysitting. We all visited the place first to see & left it up in the air. Our son loved it & we had a great night at Jellyrolls on the BW.

My kids used to live love love it. We have used sandcastle and the one at WL. They liked WL so much we let them go 3 times on one trip. One time was date night and the other 2 were 2 hour drop off as soon as they opened at 4p.

Go for it OP. kids need time away from us too. :goodvibes

Yep, our two DDs went to the Sandcastle Club on one trip then went again on another trip. On the second trip they asked if they could go again the next night instead of going to see Illuminations with DH and me! We totally let them. I can't recall for sure but I think they gave us a special direct dial number right into the club. The gals working there were sooooo nice. They do this every single day and have for years with much enjoyment and success. They would totally call you if something wasn't right with your child and you could be back there in a flash from the WS. It's your vacation, too, and Mom and Dad need time alone. Trust me, you will not regret it!

I was the same exact way, but last July, we decided to drop them off at the Cubs Den at WL (they were 5 and 8) and we went to dinner at Artist Point and rushed back because we were worried.....the kids were mad that we came back so quickly! :(

They loved it and kept begging to go back!! :rotfl2:

Last month, we brought them to Sandcastle Club and promised them we would stay out longer. They again had a great time, and spent the rest of the trip begging to go back. ::yes::

They are really nice little facilities and the kids like the food. It's a nice chance to get away with your spouse. Give it a try. :goodvibes

We dragged our kids (8 and 5) to the SandCastle Club at BC kicking and screaming....so my husband and I could spend some alone time walking around WS. We never leave our kids with anyone but our regular babysitter at home.

We dragged our kids out of the Sand Castle Club kicking and screaming because they wanted to stay! :rotfl:

We were reluctant, but getting DS6 and DD10 to leave the Sandcastle Club is like pulling teeth. They look forward to it greatly and have been going since they were 4 and 8. It makes a much needed date night for DW and I.

We used the Neverland Club at the Polynesian Resort many times over the years. My children had never been to any sort of daycare so I was very nervous. They loved it. As others have said, they wanted to stay longer. :goodvibes

My kids went to the Neverland Club, and then begged to go back there for the rest of the trip. This time we are doing 2 nights at kids clubs for them. Don't worry, they will have a great time!

We have left our kids many, many times. They love it, we love it. Everyone needs a break now and then. We have used the facilities at Polynesian, WL, and AKL. All have been fantastic. Last trip we put them in at AKL one night and then just went and sat at the pool bar for 3 hours. Just time away. It was great!

This trip, we are still deciding. One wants Poly, one wants WL. Not sure what we will do..

DO IT!!!

My DD used to LOVE the kids clubs! We too only had family babysit (either my mother or MIL).

We tried it once at AKL while we had dinner at Bomas. She LOVED it!!! She was only there for about an hour or so, and was disappointed when we came to get her! She also tried the one at WL while we had dinner at Artist Point. Again, she loved it!!!

Have a great trip!!!

Well my kids wanted to try Neverland Club just as something to do one night, and loved it so much they went there again on another trip. I spent the time just riding the monorail and visiting the monorail resorts.

What is the cost for this? I am sure my daughter would love it, and DH and I would enjoy one adult night out!!

I believe it is $11.50 per child, per hour, with a 2 hour minimum. :goodvibes

Also, if you are DVC or have AP's, you can get a discount.
