Have you tried tourguide mike's plans

Thanks for the info on the Passporter! I'm going to order one today. One more question...I see there is a ring bound passporter and a spiral bound passporter. Anyone one know which is better to get?

Annie

The ring bound one is the delux I believe (Thats the one I have). I do believe the content is in the same, but it is nice to be able to take out pages in the delux addition and take them into the park (I did this with the maps). And, well, the delux is just nice.

Someone provided the link for passporters a few posts above, if you click on that, you can get descriptions of both the spiral and the delux addition.

I saw each of them on that site. Can the actual book come out of the ring binder so you can bring it with you or do you have to bring the entire binder case too? I couldn't tell.

Thanks!

Annie

Well, yes, you can take out all of the pages, but they would all be looseleaf, and that would not be so convienent. KWIM?

And, as you are a subscriber to TGM,, I don't know why you would need to take anything other than the maps into the parks. I think the passporting touring information is, well, useless. (Sorry about that, but its JMHO).

All the itinerary planning and touring information you should be taking into the parks should be TGM stuff. Have you seen Stephens Condensed Touring Cards in the forums? Make sure to check them out! For more specific TGM related touring info, better post on the TGM boards as we cant talk about it here.

BTW, lots of people use and recommend Passporters on the TGM forums, and lots of people use/ recommend some of the UG stuff too -- you never get flamed over there for asking about or recommending other sources of information. Its a totally different type of forum because its PRIVATE. I hope you get a chance to surf it!

I'll throw in here for those ordering a Passporter - buy it from www.overstock.com! I think they have $1 or free shipping right now, and it was the best deal I found! I bought my deluxe version there for 2005 - it's great! Then, you just register your edition on the Passporter website, and they'll send you coupons for your next purchase, refills, etc.

I'm also a 1st time TGM subscriber - actually got the membership free as a perk from my Disney TA! I've only been through the hotel stuff so far, but looking forward to really diving into it for our first holiday trip right after Thanksgiving!

Do you happen to know if that version at overstock.com is an updated passporter? Does it have the new ticket pricing structure? Has passporter done a new edition that has the new ticket structure? Just curious.

The edition on Overstock is the same 2005 edition you'd order from their website, Amazon, etc. The Passporter folks only do one version a year (unlike UG, which did an extra edition this year with the release of the new ticket structure).

That being said, you can get updated pages for this year's Passporter from their website that includes the new ticket system, etc. You just print them off and cut them out yourself (yet another reason why the deluxe version is better - just punch holes and insert, and you're ready to go!).

I believe I read that their new version for 2006 should be available around November, where UG will be available with a 2006 version sometime next month.

Thanks for the tip for TGM. It is a great site. I also like the passporter and comparing the information and ratings given.

I like to think that I am a semi Disney expert. I read the Ultimate guide cover to cover. Read anything I could find. I have lurked on the Dis and lots of other sites and I have had amazing successful trips because of it.

Then I lost my mind and decided to plan a trip in June. It was a graduation present for my little sister and her cousin. As it got closer I really questioned my sanity. I don't like to sweat, I really don't like crowds. I kind of figured I would suffer through.

WRONG! I gave in and did what Tour Guide Mike told me to do. It was the opposity many times of what I would naturally do. I really felt that I needed a plan and I followed his.

I am now a diehard follower. I will never doubt him again. Not only did we not wait, we didn't suffer in the heat and sun and getting up and out early made that afternoon nap even more sweet.

I am going again in October and I will follow. The only thing I haven't been able to find in info about the Magical Express. We call it Disney's Not So Magical Express but that is another story!

I have a binder too and like I said I thought that I knew it all, or almost all of it. For the 18.95 it is well worth it.
