Have you seen everything at Disneyland?

I am realizing that I have probably only seen 50% of disneyland. There are so many things that I have never done. Like the tiki room, astro orbitor, casey jr circus, davy crockett canoes, DUMBO, innovntions, riverboat, sailing ship columbia, show white, starcade, tom sawyers island. Probably a lot more.

I think it's because I have only been to disneyland one day at a time. So when we go it's like we hit all the classic rides and don't have time for the others. This year I am going to buy a 5 day pass. Hopefully I will get to see some of the things that I have never done before.

We have only gone one day at a time before too. Actually just once before with family and I went many times as a kid when I lived in Calif. That will be great to have a 5 day pass. I bet you will be saying, I didn't know this or that was even there.

I know this time when we go, since it has been almost 10 years, we will hit different attractions because of DD's age now.

I had only gone one day at a time for many years, then 3 years ago we got 5 day passes and did so much more but, there are still nooks and crannies in New Orleans Square and Main street that I could spend so much more time at. I do feel like I have see 95% of it and done very well 80%. Last year we went back and only bought a 4 day pass and I felt cheated. :)

I will have to be back next year for the 50th birthday. And I will get a min. of 5 days maybe even 6.

I love Disneyland, it is "Where the Magic Began"

Everytime I go (which is often), I think I have seen everything and each time I discover something new. Be it a show or attraction I have forgotten about, or like last month - all the absolutely beautiful flowers blooming all over the parks. It is always an adventure and lots of fun:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Yup- Ive seen everything thats been there since 02 and most from 97 on except Superstar Limo and light tragic as I was in WDW when SSL had its brief run and same with Light Tragic missed it by 2 weeks...., well make that everything but Snow White and Tower as those will not be experianced till my July trip :)

I can say my family and I have done everything that has been open in the last 8 years!! We've gone an average of once a week since my DS was 10 months old (he is now 8 1/2). We even did the submarines when my DS was small & he is so upset that he can't remember riding them! He wishes the submarines & Rocket Rods were still open!

But we still enjoy going! We can't wait until next year for the 50th b-day for some new rides & attractions!

;) :D,
Katie

As an annual pass holder and lifelong California resident I can safely say I've seen/done everything there is to see/do at DL and DCA except for: Superstar Limo (gee, I'll be able to do that when it reopens this year  ) and the behind the scene walking tours (I'm too cheap).

Nope, in numerous trips there are things that I and our family have not done. I keep trying to go on the canoes but my youngest (almost 11 yrs) is afarid of it. One of these times I am just going to tell her see you back here in half an hour. I also haven't been in Goofy's Bounce House :)

We have done everything that is of interest to us and we can't wait for some of the new attractions. I have done most everything more than once but the magic of these boards is that even if you think you've done everything someone on here points out something different and new to try.

I had never been to princess storybook hour until I read about it here. I had never tried to turn the key of the cage that the Evil Queen (dressed as the old lady selling apples ). I found out that I should be looking for the evil queen peeking out of the curtains above the snow white ride or that I should touch the golden apple at the entrance of this ride to here her maniacal cackling. Or to make a wish and rub Aladdin's lamp in the bazaar/giftshop in Adventureland and to try the Fantasmic Buffet. In short I really owe a lot of my Disney experience in the last 5 years to people here on the boards.

I think that reading these boards often will enhance your Disney experience. It will arm you with information that will streamline your trip.

By the way Disney_Emily my family and I rode Superstar Limo and you didnt miss anything. Although my daughter enjoyed it at the time.

Always counting on these boards to inform me about something new or something that's not so new that I haven't seen at the DLR.

There is so much to see and do, I don't believe everyone has seen and done everything. There is always an exception to what people say they have seen and done.

I consider myself to be an authority on Disneyland. I have studied the park for years, and I know most of, if not all of the history of the park. And if I don't know it, I'm pretty sure I can find the answer. I'm not bragging, I'm just proud to be a Disneyland junkie.

You won't see everything on your next trip, because that's nearly impossible. But if you go through everything in your guidebook that is open, then you will have seen a great deal.

Here are a few tips;
See the Walt Disney Story feat. Mr. Lincoln
View the window Displays outside of the Emporium
View the windows on the second story buildings on Main St. and find out what they all mean.
Take the train ride all the way around the park.
Do the Dessert Buffet for Fantasmic.
Watch the parade of dolls in front of It's A Small World
Explore, Explore, Explore

There are so many things to see and do, you will be surprised.

I can honestly say I've done everything at Disneyland & DCA that has been open in the last 8 1/2 years (even attractions & restuarants that have since closed).

Like I said in an earlier post, we've gone at least once a week (sometimes more) for the last 8 1/2 years and we've made it a point to do everything. Even when I was a child my family went to Disneyland at least twice a year (have some great old videos from the early eighties of old parades & attractions).

We've done all the tours, done all the attractions (even ones that are no longer there..Rocket Rodds, Bear Jamboree, Super Star Limo,...etc.). Scene all the Parades they've ran over the years, ate at all the eateries (including Club 33 & ABC soap opera bistro(now closed)). Been to all the shops, done all the shows, small & large, including Woody's round-up, Hunchback's Festival of Fools, Golden Horseshoe review, princess storybook hour,...etc. Touched all the interactive secrets on rides (including the apple at Snow Whites and the Bamboo pole in Indiana Jones).

We've stayed at all 3 on-site hotels on more than 1 occasion & have exlored the hotels.

I'm sure they maybe something I haven't seen, but I have explored every nook of Disneyland resort & have seen most.

;) :D ,

I had AP's for 8 years. I have done everything, remember lots of things that are now gone too. Except stay onsite (no need) and ride in Cinderella's carriage (I think the only way to do this is to get married at DL). I have been in Club 33, been in the CM tunnels, been in the first aid stations, back stage for B&B show, been behind the gates at toon town (I know a few CM's including Belle and Tinker Bell, who is an older lady! One that flies overhead)... The only other thing I can think of is Walt's apartment above the firestation- only a very few get to see that.

Hey all you DL people... What was that one ride that was on the people mover track (and never worked) called, I can't remember. It is one of the few things I have only done one time...

That would be the Rocket Rods. And it didn't last very long. It was billed as the fastest ride at DL. The ride opened as the staple of the the "new" Tomorrowland in May of 1998. I was there on opening day. It was not as crowded as I thought it would be. The first problem was with a wheelie effect that lifted the vehicles when they took off. There were also numerous problems with tires. Too many problems to keep this one running. Rest in peace.

I was one of the lucky ones. My most emotional Disneyland experience came when I went inside Walt's apartment. It's very small and reminds you of going inside your grandparents house. There is a kitchenette and a small bath room with a shower. There is a door that leads to a patio where Lillian served tea to special visitors. The apartment is also furnished the way it was when Walt was alive.

I will never forget the feeling that I had looking through the curtains, and down on Town Square, watching guests enter Main Street, the same exact way that Walt Disney watched guests enter his park.

You have probably noticed a small lamp in the middle window of the apartment. During Walt's time, that lamp was lit whenever Mr. Disney was in the park. It was sort of a reminder for the CM's. Today, that same lamp is always lit to remind us that Walt Disney's spirit is always in the park.
