I have thought this is so weird, but, our papers were turned over to ROFR on 3/16, and we still haven't been charged our deposit. We used our credit card. I guess I just thought this would have been an immediate. We are going through Fidelity. Any other experiences?:confused3

Yup and I posted the same thing. Another poster said that he/she called and was told they do not charge the credit card until after ROFR. We passed a week ago and still have not been charged. Put a deposit on a contract a year ago with them and was charged the deposit immediately.

Sorry, I didn't mean to repost something.

Just weird to me. I guess I could have called and asked Fidelity, but, honestly, I just don't want to talk to them right now. :goodvibes

Are you kidding these post get burried quickly ask away!!!! :thumbsup2 I thought it was really weird too! I wonder if it is because of the volume that they did not want to keep running the cards, incurring charges from merchant account (credit card) and then having to refund it if the contract fell through!

Good luck with your closing I am waiting "patiently kinda"! I want to book a ressie with 2009 points time is ticking and we still do not have closing docs!

I've purchased from Fidelity before and paid the deposit with a credit card. At the time (around 2 years ago), they charged my card right away. My guess is they may have changed their policy for two reasons:
1) To allow the 10-day rescind period to expire.
2) To make sure that points statements come back accurate, and the buyer wants to move ahead with the purchase.

Since merchants pay a percentage of the amount charged and a "per transaction" charge to the credit card/credit card processing companies, they may be trying to reduce unnecessary overhead.

Our deposit had to be a personal check. Paid when we signed the purchase contract. I'm here in Orlando, so I dropped it off at TTS with the contract on 3/16, we went to ROFR on 3/17.

I emailed Fidelity & the Title Company after my credit card had not been charged for the deposit and was told that they do not process the charge until after the contract passes ROFR. Our contract was submitted for ROFR on 3/04, passed on 3/24 and our credit card was charged for the deposit on 3/29. We are still waiting for the closing documents.
