I think it’s more like the State has given guidelines and different areas in the state are doing what they need to for the County and the demographics in that area. I live in a suburb type community with 1 small hospital and Jim lives in a large city in a different county. The State is still in charge of making sure vaccine gets where it’s needed.
that was my last comment as I think we highjacked the thread....sorry.
True. There are enormous differences between our counties, and especially in the area of healthcare and demographics.
One of the reasons why Miami-Dade and Broward counties have progressed so fast with vaccinations is simply infrastructure. In Miami, we are using four very large facilities that can accommodate thousands of cars at a time in an orderly fashion with good traffic flow in and out. In fact, we have another one (Homestead Speedway) that is not being used yet. In Broward, they are using several large county parks which have the same logistical benefits, and that's working well for them.
Not every county needs that kind of volume, but if you can't get people in and out, it makes the process pretty difficult.
There are many, many other logistical considerations -- those are just a couple of obvious ones.
We must be doing pretty well by letting the officials closest to the actual problem figure out the fine details.
I see lots of posts from other people all over the country who can't get vaccinations. But we're already starting to do a limited number of 55+ people who really need the protection.
People can Google and post whatever they want, but occasionally it's illuminating just to look up at the actual scoreboard.
