Has anyone laminated their Vaccinated Record Card? Might think it is a good idea for travel.
There was a thread on the board about that the other day. The opinions seemed split. Maybe make a copy and laminate that?Has anyone laminated their Vaccinated Record Card? Might think it is a good idea for travel.
It's also possible she had COVID before and didn't know it. People who've had COVID before getting the vaccine are having more/harder side effects from the vaccine than those who haven't had COVID previously, from what I've read.Has she been to a doctor? She might actually have covid...
I got my first Pfizer shot at CVS yesterday. They didn't even ask for my ID or insurance card. I had entered everything during the scheduling process and all I had to do was click a link that they texted me 5 minutes before the appointment that I had arrived. I was honestly kind of surprised they didn't even ask for my ID, but whatever.
My arm is slightly sore, but that's it. My 16 y/o son goes to the same CVS Monday morning for his first shot.
From the conversation being had with the observation nurse afterwards, that CVS location was doing 200 shots per day but they were trying to get up to 500/day, but they said not enough people know about them having vaccines available so they can't scale up yet. Their directive from the Fed Govt is "get shots in arms" so it makes sense that they didn't do much gatekeeping about proving eligibility. I registered as a healthcare worker, and at no point in either the registration process or the check in process was I asked to provide any proof.
So, I'm not saying to lie, but if you live in CA, CVS (at least) is NOT verifying eligibility under ANY category. Appointments get loaded just after midnight so if you check then, you'll find one.
FWIW, I *do* qualify under 1A according to the state of Ca definitions for caregivers of family members with developmental disabilities, but I was all prepared with a letter and medical documentation and I didn't need it.
200 shots per day for a CVS pharmacy is quite a lot actually. Assuming even a 5-minute interval between appointment slots, that would be almost 17 hours of non-stop vaccinations everyday.
It’s not just a CVS thing that is not checking ID. It’s an entire CA statewide thing. As I wrote here previously and linked to online references, this is the case in many other states as well.

It’s interesting. When my dad got vaccinated at a CVS, it was only him and one other person and they only had one page of names when he checked in.200 shots per day for a CVS pharmacy is quite a lot actually. Add to that the fact that the cards are a weird size, and really won't fit well into a man's wallet. I have my card in a safe place in my car, and I took a photo of it on my phone.Heh. I’m sure everyone knows by now, but that just shows how little credibility there is with those cards. It’s the easiest thing to fake.
Plus, the fact that one can easily just call their doctor’s office to say that they received a vaccine and want to update their medical records, even if they didn’t actually get the vaccine.
Was this CVS? I noticed that no one was waiting at the CVS I went to. My appointment was at 3pm. There was one person ahead of me and they were kept waiting until I was seated and then the tech came out and did both of us one after the other. I could see the check in and no one else arrived. But - a guy had come up without a vaccine appointment and he was turned away after I had sat down. We were seated about 10 feet away from the check in and everything could be heard and seen. In fact, the guy in front of me was also asking vaccine questions and both looked to be in the age group, or quite close to it.
The one thing I didn't observe was the actual vaccine vial other than the tech walked out holding a small tray with the stuff on it. Now I'm wondering would I have seen whether there were more vaccines in the vial? Due to anxiety I didn't look at the needle or the tray closely - eyes forward, get it over with!
The cvs around here are giving Pfizer right now. I’ll take whatever I can get. It doesn’t matter to me. For 16+ in Florida at cvs you just need a form that your doctor fills out saying you’re vulnerable. It doesn’t even say anything about why. They just have to sign itIt seems all the Northern state CVS stores are fully booked. But, Florida has consistently had appointments available in the eastern half of the state for the last week or so. I've been looking at them for a friend. And, if you happen to want a vaccine and you are in or close to the state of Mississippi, all 6 CVS stores are showing availability. They are also saying 16+ and over can get a shot so it must also be JandJ.
Another note: some CVS stores listed such as NJ and NY it is noted that you must live work or go to school there to qualify, but most locations don't have this proviso.
I was able to go to another state, 8 minutes drive, and got my shot. Everything was locked up tight in my area, but as soon as that evening and the next day I started getting invitations from my sign ups to get an appointment.
It's moving faster. Who knows? You and hubby may be fully vacc'd by the time your trip rolls around if you take JandJ. After reading up on it and realizing that it was tested later with the variants in play, I became very comfortable with getting Jand J.
This from a 68 year old who has NEVER taken a flu shot out of needle fear. Ridiculous, I know. On the other hand I've rarely been sick other than sinus and my self imposed comorbidities - type 2.
This was Walgreens. I am hoping as more vaccines become available that they do more drive thru vaccinations at large venues. They have done it a few times in my state and it ran smoothly from what I heard, many got their vaccines that way

Okay, I'm a bit slow here, so bear with me. So, after filling out this e-visit covid vaccine page, we need to call Kaiser to follow up? I just assumed they would contact us. Are you talking the 800 member number or our local medical office? "Hello, I filled out my e-visit, schedule my vaccine please?" Seems weird, but maybe I have to be more assertive to get somewhere? Thanks.Definitely try calling in later today or tomorrow. Overweight BMI was my only qualifying thing on their list. DH did fill out his own e-visit since he has his own account, but they allowed me to book appts for both of us when I called.
They have been sending emails the next morning, but I have a friend who did it and never got a email the following day. When she called later that day, they confirmed she was eligible and booked it for her. So if you don’t get an email tomorrow, it’s probably worth calling in, in case there was a hiccup in their system.Okay, I'm a bit slow here, so bear with me. Yes I actually just did yesterday and I’m getting a Pfizer shot tomorrow! I have w-2s and paystubs to bring in case they need proof but I have a feeling they aren’t even going to check. It didn’t say anywhere to bring proof of teaching. Dh is getting his Tuesday after getting the form signed by his doctorDidn't you sign up for sub teacher?
