a sweepstakes? I enter everything I can find that is Disney related. I keep telling my husband that I'm going to win a trip someday. He tells me these things are rigged and nobody wins. Oh well, a girl can dream.

That gives me hope! I honestly never win anything... unless you count a trip on the Goodyear blimp when I was a kid.

I don't believe many contests are rigged, especially the big national sweepstakes ones. That would be too risky for the parties involved. Good luck with your entries.:)

I don't think the contests are rigged, but I personally haven't won anything!

Good luck!

I few years ago I was addicted to entering sweepstakes.

My top two sweepstakes prizes won:
* $250 worth of movie tickets for Regal Cinemas.
* $500 Kohl's gift card. (I used that to buy Christmas gifts. :thumbsup2)

I've been thinking about entering again. I would love to win something big.

I always enter contests. This year I have only won some books and food items.

The only disney things I have won in the past were: 2 tickets to Broadway to see Tarzan and some kind of Chronicles of Narnia scrapbook (it was the 2nd or 3rd place prize)

I have never won anything. My friend enters them all the time all the time and always says, Well someone has to win it, maybe it will be me!

I can also say that I have a hand in adminstering the one for the company I work for and if they were rigged with nobody winning we would be in some BIG trouble. We actually have to have a 3rd firm handle picking the winners and contacting them. If the first winner declines or they can't get in contact with they pick another one.

I enter everything that is Disney-related, too, but ... nothing, zilch, zero, zip, nada.

I did win a curling iron back in 1983 (Some raffle during a school Christmas party) ... And I have curly hair.

Yep won from Disney too. It was on their website years ago. My DS was little, 4 or 5 and was playing on the Playhouse Disney site when this gold coin started floating around. He clicked on it and started yelling for me. A 'congratulations you found the treasure' popped up and asked for my Disney log in. So I put it in. Several months later I was contacted via email that I had won their contest.

I was SUPER confused. I have several friends in different Disney divisions so I had them look up the info of the person who emailed me in the company directory. All 3 of them came back with the same stuff that matched what she said so I filled out the paperwork. A few weeks later an LCD TV, Xbox and DVD player showed up at my door. I think I won the 2nd place price. Cool!

My DH works in radio where they do a lot of contests. There are very strict laws that go into it. The legal trouble would be horrendous if they rigged it. They have to have a winner and all the rules and such need to be explicitly spelled out before they can even consider a contest. It has to go through their legal departments of everyone involved before finalizing it. It is actually a really complex process for some of the contests. Things like ticket give aways are simpler because they always do them and use the same standard process every time.

I have a nightly ritual of ending my day by filling out entries to multiple Disney sweepstakes.

It has paid off for me: (in ascending order)
  • Finalist in Disney Dream Job Contest - No tangible prize, but it was fun...
  • Prize Winner in Disney's "What Will You Celebrate?" Sweepstakes - Won a digital picture frame
  • Second prize in a Disney/Milk Council Contest - Won a week's worth of chef-cooked meals & a cookbook
  • Grand Prize Winner in an Electronic Arts/Disney Sweepstakes - Won a cruise on the Wonder!

I think that sounds like a mega-cool prize!

Won a random radio contest for an all expense-paid trip to Disney for four a long time ago, so yes, it's possible. Keep playing!:cool1:

I won one of the "first prizes" -- a flip video camera -- in this summer's Wheat Thins Bonaroo Festival contest. The weird thing is that they did not not notify me -- it just arrived by Federal Express.

Not the same thing, but I've also got a couple of local prizes:

A few years ago I won a $25 gift certificate to Concord Mills Mall at a nonprofit's volunteer appreciation event. It was about the time construction the mall began, so I got to wait a long time to use it.

When I was in college at a major university, almost no one had their photo made for the yearbook, so the staff came up with some prizes as incentives. Everyone who had his/her photo made was in the drawing. I won a Schwin bike. I was a senior and really didn't want a bike, so I sold it back to the guy at the bike shop.

Also, my grocery store did a promotion a couple years ago where every 100th person got their groceries for free. I won the first day, but unfortunately had only spent about $25!

We can't do any of the Disney stuff because DH is a cast member. I suppose a trip to WDW would be redundant anyway, but I would love to win a trip to Disneyland!

We did win a TV from the "call this number for a survey" on the Target receipt - woo hoo! DH bought a drink at the Starbucks in Target, and that's the receipt we won the TV from!

:)

We went to a Bed and Breakfast once and filled out a survey while we were there. A few months later, I was notified that we won a weekend at any Band B in the US and a $100. That was nice. My middle dd is very lucky, she always wins stuff:thumbsup2

i haven't won a sweepstakes but i have various drawings.

one happened during my senior year at SNAP (senior night after prom), our school had company's donate laptops, ipods, cameras, printers and various other prices for our school to give away in drawings for the senior class. I got drawn during the laptop category :) i got a nice 15 inch toshiba laptop served me well.

the second happened this summer at the Taylor Swift concert in Houston, Texas. Me and my mom had stopped at one of the radio station booths and put tickets in to win either meet and greets with taylor or upgraded seats. I didn't win the meet and greets but I got drawn and won row 19 floor seats :) me and my mom were originally seated in the 400's section.

ps- at the concert taylor swifts parents sat right behind me and my mom :)

I LOVE to answer these posts:banana:

Last year I won an all expense paid trip to BOTH DisneyLand & DisneyWorld:thumbsup2 Deluxe accomodations on site, tons of gifts in our room, cookies and milk sent to our room at night, special viewing sections to parades, fireworks, a PRIVATE breakfast at Cinderella's castle with all the princesses/princes in California and ended with a PRIVATE dinner at WDW with Mickey/Minnie/Pluto/Goofy/The Incredibles.

That is only a little bit about it - it was absolutely AMAZING!
