Have You Ever Seen A Full Body Apparition?

I've never actually seen anything. I kinda want to but then I'm not sure I really want to...make sense? ;) I've heard, felt, sensed, and smelled things that didn't quite make sense to me several times. For example my stepgrandfather had this unique odor of alcohol, tobacco, and body odor. No one I have ever met since has this nasty odor. After he died, I would periodically smell him in my bedroom in the corner where it was significantly colder than the rest of the room. And that corner only had one outside wall, the other wall was against my mom's bedroom. It was the weirdest thing. He didn't die in my house, but his which was at least 1 mile away. :confused3

Now, my DH has actually seen quite a bit over the years and my mom has seen some things too. And as far as I am concerned, these are the 2 most sane people I know.

I am soooo loving these stories!!! I have been a paranormal investigator for about 4 years!! I also am a medium and other weird stuff! pixiedust: LOL!!! I don't talk it about it much in "public". ;) So, this is right up my alley!

I have experienced all kinds of things, but since we're talking about sightings.... Usually when I see things, they are partial figures, shadows or balls of light, like Nancy's daughter saw.

Just to clarify, my daughters have never seen balls of light, but 2 out of 3 have claimed to see a little boy and a little girl and shadows all in the same room. I'm wondering if the little boy and girl are actually the same thing snce the "boy " was seen by a very young child who maybe thought it was a boy? :confused3 I've never seen anything but sometmes feel like I'm being watched, especially from the stairs when I'm in the living room. The bedroom is right at the top of the stairs, so it is possible something is there, I just never see it (and honestly hope I never do!)

Ever since my parents have passed I have asked them (especially at night) to not "visit" because it would scare the heck out of me. Come and talk while I'm dreaming all you want just don't be sitting on my couch as I get up for a glass of water!!! They both have come to me while I was dreaming and my Grandma came to me in a dream the night after she died. I believe without a doubt that they can and do visit us after they cross.

I have "smells" from the deceased that I smell every now and than. ;) The other day, it must have been DH's Mother's Cigarettes I smelled, it wasn't my Mom's she smoked Kool Milds, and I know the difference. ;) I also smell my Mom;s perfume, which is Cachet, no-one I know where's that. :confused3 When my DD's little one was born, she would "stare up at the ceiling and smile", and I knew it was the "past relatives" taking a gander at her. :goodvibes One time, I was babysitting, and she was sleepy, but wouldn't go down for the nap, so I had to say, outloud, and YES I said this: "Everyone please go, so Aiyana can take her nap now!" I kid you not, after I said this, she went fast alseep. :rolleyes1 :p

These stories are great!
I know of one instance where I've seen a full body appariation.
I had been asleep, woke up and saw a very dear friend of our family standing next to me. She said very simply, "I just wanted to say good bye." Then she was gone.
In the morning I told my husband about this "dream" since it seemed so real.
Not 5 minutes later, my mom called and told me that the lady had passed away over night.
Usually I never bother to tell my husband about my dreams, but I'm so glad I did this time. If I had told him after I found out that she was gone, he would have said, yeah...suuuure.

When I was little, my Gramps came to visit me all the time after he died. My parents would wake up to hear me talking and ask me who I was talking to. I told them the mailman in the blue uniform - my grandfather was in the Navy and I used to think he was the mailman.

I caught an EVP up at this old asylum in MA. I'm a "believer", but I never expected to get something like that and I'm not sure I'll ever go back there again. I'd like to, but it really freaked me out since the voice was so close to the recorder....it was like the person was standing next to me and talking directly into the recorder. :guilty:

One night, my DH was getting me something to drink and he was walking in the dark. I heard him say, "Ally, move." Ally is one of our cats. He said he bent down and patted her and moved her out of the way. In the morning, we were leaving and trying to find Ally so she didn't get locked in the bedroom all day while we were out. We went crazy looking for this cat. I opened the door to go downstairs and there she was at the bottom of the stairs (looking like she was trying to figure out why we were calling her)....she was never in the bedroom and the other two cats were in the kitchen sitting at the slider. :scared1:

My dad has visited me several times. One time I was alone in the house standing at the sink washing dishes. I felt like someone was looking at me. I turned my head to look in the living room and my dad was sitting on the edge of my end table watching me. He scared me, I asked him what he was doing there, in rather mean tone, then he started to fade away. I apologized and asked him to to leave but he did.

Another time he came to me in a dream. My dd was born with a birth defect that left a hole in her head. When she was a baby we had to go for cat scans periodically. Each time she had to have one I would get nervous. This particular time I was really nervous about it for no apparent reason. I could not get to sleep the night before the ct. When I finally did fall asleep my dad came to me. He was surrounded by white billowy clouds. All he said was "don't worry Tina, she'll be fine". Then he was gone. From that time on I never really worried about her again. He was right, she is a healthy 10 year old.

A few days after my grandmother passed away she yelled at me in my sleep. I was having a really hard time dealing with her death. We were planning the services etc. I didn't think I could handle the services or the fact that she was gone. When she yelled at me she used my full name, (you know that means trouble) and said "you can do this". A couple weeks after that I felt someone sit on the end of my bed. I was the only one home so I know it wasn't my DH or my kids. I don't know for sure but I think it was her again.

I have more experiences, but I can't share them now. I have work to do.

at our last house my wife would get a feeling like someone in the room with her in one bathroom. whenever she took a shower or bath she would feel someone in the room and smell cigarette smoke. neither one of us have ever smoked, and we gutted that bathroom down to the studs and rebuilt it. our dog would never go into the basement, but would stand on the landing barking into it.

we found out later from our neighbor that a previos owner of the house was a single man who smoked. they found him dead between the toilet and the bathtub in the bathroom my wife had problems with.

I saw my mom. It was within a year of her death and I was napping on the couch with my yr old dd. I woke up and saw her in the dining rm which was next to my living rm. I remember thinking "Oh, it's just mom".She ducked around the corner so I got up and looked but she was gone.

For a few yrs several people in my house had strange occurrences which we thought was my mom since there had been nothing before she died. One day I was holding my dd (she was about 3 now) sitting on my couch in bright daylight. She asked me whose hand it was. I was confused and asked her what hand. She replied she could see a hand on the end of the sofa. That gave me the heebie jeebies. My older dd, when she was 6 saw a woman on the staircase. She came into the kitchen and asked who else was in the house. I told her no one except me, you and your sister. She described a woman wearing striped pants on the stairs when she was going by them.

Worst for me was that I had someone call my name. I was standing in my kitchen, again with only my dd's when I clearly heard my name called. I checked the house even though I knew there was no one there. After that my dh, 20 yr old sister who lived w/us and my teenage niece (who was close to my mom) all had their name called. Keep in mind, not noises but our actual names.

Hi!

Cool! More stories! :sunny:

Nancy: Sorry, I got your post mixed up with Ladybugsy's (ball of light)!! I was really sleepy!

sugarpie: Yes, dreams are the most common way that DLO's (deceased loved ones) communicate because our brains are functioning at a different vibrational rate than when we're awake. We are more receptive and can't go into "logical override".

Pea-n-me: Great thread you linked! I had missed it. Yes, to you too! Children often communicate with family before they are born. Our god daughter told her parents her name, and that she wanted us for god parents. Actually most people who come up with baby names, seemingly out of nowhere, are being prompted by the child. If we all listened for the name, it would take the stress out of baby naming!! LOL!

Hi again!

When you are really missing someone who has passed, you can ask for a sign that they are around! I have several amazing stories about this from people I know. ....One happened to my Mom. Her younger brother passed away in Sept. '04, followed by a cousin in Oct., and her Mom in January. She was having a hard time so I told her to ask for a really unusual sign that they were OK. She decided she wanted to see a green cat! LOL!! About 2 weeks later, we were at the mall and they had a big art display. On one pillar were 3 neon green cat sculptures!! She flipped (in a good way)!

Okay, this is very long:
My Mom's twin sister and her family lived three houses down from us in Charleston, SC. Our houses were built on the banks of a marshy area, just down the way from the huge plantations where there were slaves kept and many soldiers from the civil war walked...and died.

My aunt's property was off of the main road, her driveway was lined with huge oak trees and her house was a very beautiful two story place with pillars, a front porch, and huge balcony across the top story. What was unknown to them at the time of purchase was that the house was indeed built on an old graveyard (think Poltergeist). As children, my cousin and I would go down to the marsh at low tide and look at the headstones that were thrown in there. They were very old. To this day, we think they were from a slave burial ground. No one really knows. What is known are all of the ghosts that made themselves apparant throughout the time they lived there. Here are the "better" stories:

* Before I was born, my dad was in Vietnam and my mom stayed with her twin. Instead of sleeping at night, she would sit in a rocking chair and worry about Daddy. Every night a "figure" that was a see-through black vision would enter the bedroom and turn and then go out of the door.

*The stereo that was downstairs would turn on every night at 2 am on full blast.

*When my cousin was three years old, she would ask her mother who the "man in the grey suit was" (Confederate soldier??) in the upstairs bathroom.

*once when we came home from a vacation in the mountains, we were driving up the long driveway and we all saw a "man" looking out of the upstairs window at us. No one was home at the time.

* my cousin and I went onto the balcony upstairs once and to get to it you had to go through my aunt's closet and up some concealed stairs through a door that didn't have a lock on it. When we got ready to leave the balcony we tried to turn the handle and it wouldn't turn. We stayed out there yelling and finally her mom heard us and came outside. We told her we couldn't get in and then tried the door again...it opened right up.

*One of the strangest happened to my Mom. I was about two at the time and my aunt was baby sitting me for my parents to go to a costume ball. My Mom had dressed as a Victorian Lady with a long lacy dress on and her hair up on her head. She came in the house at 1am to get me and started up the stairs with no lights on. Just then something "tapped" her three times on the shoulder. Thinking it was her twin, she turned saying "oh, I didn't know you were awake.." and when she looked, there was no one there. No, she has never drank a drop of alcohol in her life and the party they went to was a church party so I know she wasn't then either! Mom seems to think the spirit, or whatever it was, thought she was someone they knew because of how she was dressed. Weird.

*Another very strange thing that happened was every night my Aunt would wake up and look at the wall next to her bed. And every night she would see "written" in what looked like blood in a foreign language words all over her wall. She said after a few minutes it would fade and finally go away. The only time she was ever able to discern any of the words was one night, big as day, was the word "Viola". She didn't understand whay she would be able to read that when every other night she never could. That is, until the next day when her new neighbor started moving in and her name was... you guessed it -- "Viola".

They called the priests in and had the house exorcised and after that things calmed considerably but never went away totally. Soon after, they moved to another town. I often wonder about the people who bought their house and what they "see".

When I was in college in Boston I saw the full figure of an old man sitting at my desk staring out the window and then staring at me. It was very creepy.
So much in fact that I had to leave that dorm. It still bothers me to this day.

When I was a little girl, I saw a shadowing figure of a young girl rocking in the rocking chair in my bedroom several times. My cousin saw her too.

In our current home, DH and I have heard a little girl's voice a couple of times. DS4 has conversations with her and says he can see her (but he is 4 so I don't know how much he is just making up), and tells us all about her. According to him, it is his Guardian Angel.

Not a full body apparition. But when my Dad was dying, my sisters and I were taking care of him at his home. We kept seeing something out of the corner of our eye, but when we would turn there was nothing there. I am sure it was my Mom (who had passed 5 years earlier in the same house).

I have had times when my Dad visited me in the form of another person, not as an apparition. I have told these stories here before. The first time I was going for an endoscopy and I was really nervous. I called for a cab to take me to the appointment. The cab driver was an older man who started singing to me and told me not to worry. Then he told me a story in which he went to a bar and the bartender called him "Mr. G". Well, my dad liked to have a few, and my mother always called him "Mr. G" when she was annoyed at him!!!

At Disney two years ago, we met a family and the grandfather reminded us of my father. It turned out his first name was Tom, which also my father's first name. We sat next to them at the pool, and he pulled his chair over and had a beer with us. In the morning when I looked out to check the weather, he was sitting right under our terrace (pool view at the Beach Club) drinking a cup of coffee. It was really early and he was sitting alone. My Dad always came for breakfast with us on weekends.

For those of you with young children that say they see things....please believe them. Kids are very smart. They know what they see and feel.
When I was young this sort of thing happened to me all the time.
Now, my DD, 20, sees people.

My SIL died four years ago. My DD told me she saw her aunt and an older gentleman standing on the right side of the church, up on the stair area.
I never told my sister anything about this sighting until this year.
We were talking about our SIL and she said she had seen her and our father at the funeral.
I felt this cold chill come over me and I asked her where they were standing.
Yes, same place my DD saw them. My DD did not know who the man was because my father died when I was 15. She never knew her grandfather.
DD thought it might be grandpa, but was afraid to tell me.

Same funeral...my SIL was not a sentimental woman. Never cared for worldly things. (She loved Cinderella castle, though)! She suffered with ovarian cancer for over 5 years. It was a horrible death. She always told us not to cry for her, she would be in a better place.
Well, my DD and I are bawling our eyes out when a sappy song comes on.
The very one I tell my DD I hope they don't play. We cry more..then part way through the song, it skips, then skips again. We look at each other and start to laugh uncontrollably.
It was her coming through to us, I know it.

I was repairing one of two boilers at work one day, one that we have had constant problems with. The boilers are only 4 years old but this one was constantly giving us fits, and we often joked that one of the men that built this boiler must have died and now haunts the unit. Well, as I finished up the repairs I went around to the back of the boiler to watch the flame and make sure it was burning ok when I heard the boiler room door open, someone walk in, and the door close again. Now there are 2 doors into this boiler room one goes to the hallway inside and the other leads directly outside to the back of the building. I heard the door so I got up from the back and walked in between the 2 boilers in the room and didn't see any one, so now I was standing in between the 2 in front and I could see that the door leading to the hallway wasn't latched and I had secured the door when I came in. I knew some one had come in, but I just blew it off and thought it was the building custodian trying to sneak up and me, as he tends to be a bit of a prankster. I went and stood in front of the boiler I had just finished repairing, just waiting for him to jump out and say "boo". I could see between the 2 boiler to the back wall out of my peripheral vision, and as I was standing there I saw him quickly step from behind one boiler to the other, but I was just a glimpse out of the corner of my eye. I know I saw movement, and I know it was man around 6ft 2 in or so. Anyways my radio went off for someone needed me and I had to leave, so I said "Bye Bob" referring to the custodian, and walked out the door going outside to the rear of the building, I took about 10 steps and looked up to see the building custodian emptying garbage pails into the dumpster!!! I just froze in my tracks because there is no possible way he could have run from the boiler room to the dumpsters that quickly, an olympic sprinter could not have made that run,it was a matter of seconds from my exit of the boiler room to seeing him emptying waste cans. I don't know who I saw in the boiler room, but I know it wasn't Bob, and it wasn't a student. We'll find out this winter if he is going to cause us anymore problems with that boiler!

Kids want me to bump this! Need More Ghost stories!!! :thumbsup2
