Have You Ever Seen A Full Body Apparition?

about 4 years ago we were out for dinner in a restaurant in Indy. when you walk in, there's a balcony over the hostess stand. there was a whitish outline of a man staring down at us when we walked in, I even saw his eyes. he just faded away. the first question I asked our server at the table was 'how long has this place been haunted?' she looked at me and asked, 'did you see him too?'

about six months ago I was at meeting at one of our accounts for work. a yellowish figure from about the waist up kind of glided through the room, you could see facial features. the receptionist said he was the guy who keeps locking all of their doors and throwing plates in the break room.

So many things have happened in our family, you'd think I was crazy if I told you all of them...lol. But my 14 year old daughter does see things on a daily basis. The most recent one was not an apparation, but she was leaving my bedroom and when she got to the door she jumped to the side, then just kept on walking. I thought it was really weird, but didn't say anything. Later on that night I asked her about it and she told me a big ball of light was flying through the house and into my room and she had to jump out of the way. :scared1:

She used to be scared of all the things she sees. But she is a Christian and has prayed about it and talked to others about it and realizes that it can't hurt her. It does make her anxious some times. One weird thing was the time she was looking at the ceiling. I asked her what she was looking at and she said, "You know how when you're under water and you look up and the light is on the top of the water and it's all different colors? Same thing! ". I must admit, I'm a big chicken and have also seen things that have made my hair curl, but she is so brave. I would be in the looney bin by now...lol. :lmao:

can only certain people "see" these things? I do NOT want to see them but I do believe and I enjoy reading your stories.

I believe some people are more able to "see" than others. I was told by a person in the know once that I want to see, but can't; my sister, OTOH, doesn't want to, but can. :confused3

I've always enjoyed reading ghost stories. :hmghost:

We have a ghost in our house he has manifested himself only to me. I very rarely drink and if I do it is only one or two. Both times I have seen this man I have been totally sober.

The first time I was sitting in my recliner with the tv on but reading a book, my husband was at the computer probably on this board. I heard a thump so I glanced up at the dinning room doorway and saw a man in work boots and overalls. Didn't think anything about figured it was my husband (who wears overalls to work being a carpenter the pockets come in handy) I looked at the tv and saw out of the corner of my eye my husband sitting at the computer. I asked him "How did you get from the dinning room to the desk without me seeing you?" He is like HUH then I realised he was wearing jeans and a red shirt it couldn't have been him.

The second time I saw this man was yesterday. I came out of the bathroom into my bedroom and out of the corner of my eye I saw him standing by my closet door. Of course I thought it was my husband again (he was actually wearing overalls yesterday) I kept walking then I thought wait a min. Jeff is outside. So I walked back in the bedroom to look again and he was gone. Kinda freaks me out.

He also likes to take things and hide them we are always trying to find something latest thing was my sunglasses I keep them on my chest of drawers in my bedroom. I went looking for them last weekend to wear out by the pool and they were gone. I looked everywhere my dd helped me. I found them yesterday on the kitchen table. DD said "DUDE those things were not there the other day! We both looked there!"

see dw's post above,, i have seen an old lady in our house once...similar to her male ghost, mine was a quick glimpse out the corner of my eye and she was gone,, but i know at least on of the ghosts like to play with our cats.

I've never actually seen anything, but I think I've heard something. I grew up in the house that my dad grew up in, an old house that had always been in the family. My grandma had lived in the house most of her life. She died a few days before I turned 4. But I remember her vividly.

I remember on a few occasions telling my mom that I could hear Grandma's voice, not words, but I could hear her voice, and feel her in the house. I was only 4 years old, but I remember once exactly where I was sitting in the house when I heard it, and I can remember which room the voice came from. I didn't know it at the time but that had been my grandma's bedroom. (my bedroom by the way)

My mom said I was just imagining her voice because I missed her so much. We've never talked about it since. It felt very real at the time, but I don't know.

I sure have.

Saw my Mom & Dad on July 2, 2003. They both walked me arm & arm (Dad to my left, Mom to my right) down the hospital corridors & went up the elevator with me & to my Mom's room as she was crossing over to the other side. I remember feeling that they were more or less carrying me since I don't remember my feet touching the floor. That was the first time I saw my Dad since he passed away in July of 1968. My parents both stood in the corner of my Mom's hospice suite, standing arm & arm while my Mom's mortal body took her last breath. I was soooooo very serene & at peace that I didn't cry. Everyone in the room (3 cousins & my Mom's oncology nurse who became very close to my Mom during her cancer battle) were crying hysterically & ME (the over emotional one) was so calm & at peace. I know that my parents brought me that gift of serenity from heaven!

My Mom appeared to me for several days after her death. Every time she'd appear to me, I'd get that deep deep feeling of serenity. It was such an amazing feeling..... Since then, have seen my Mom twice.

On March 13 of this year, I came home from a school meeting where it was pretty intense regarding my oldest son & I walked into my foyer & could see straight through to the familyroom & my FIL who passed away last year was sitting on my couch. He turned & looked at me (he was just looking straight ahead when I first saw him) & then he disappeared. Funny but my FIL never came to MI to visit us since our wedding in '94 & here he is visitng me after he's dead. :confused3

Some people can SEE the spirits, & some people can HEAR the spirits but not see them. I never hear anything when I've had an apparition but my dear friend was dying of cancer & she would tell me that she heard her father in her hospital room each night telling her not to be scared & everything would be alright & she could hear him breathing.

Ohhhh....I'm so sad now. I've lost too many people that I loved dearly. One day we'll all be together again though.

When I was 15 almost 16 I woke up and saw a black body figure walking through my bedroom. I sat up and it turned to me (like it was looking at me). Then I layed down slowly and it walked over to me and touched me. I know it touched me because my body started feeling all tingley like my whole body fell asleep. After that I think I passed out because I remember waking back up and it was gone. I swear I almost peed the bed!!!

ALMOST ?????????????? peed the bed! :rotfl2:
You are one tough cookie!

I love this thread! :thumbsup2

My Sister, Mother and I are actually thinking of joining a TAPS affiliate in our area. Crazy I know, but what the heck! Anyway, after my Grandparents passed, my DH, DS and I continued living in the house and everyonce in a while you would catch a glimpse of one of them walking down the hall or sitting in a favorite chair. My DS whom never met his G-Grandfather used to tell me Pa (that is what we called Grandpa) was in his room! We also had a nasty evil something or other that would scare the bejesus out of us. Dishes would fly out of cupboards, lights, tvs would go on and off. Drive the cats crazy, we had an un-used guest bedroom with beds, bathroom and so on and we would keep the doors closed. The cats would sit at the door and claw at the door and screech all night. It was maddening. We would go in the room and find the bedding ripped of the bed, stuff in the room all over the place, shower curtain ripped down, towel everywhere, you get my drift. It was crazy and very frightening at the time. Makes me wonder if the new owners of the house are faring any better!

When I was 15 or 16 I was babysitting in a house that's VERY old. The family has portraits, maps of our town, etc. framed on the walls from hundreds of years ago.
I never was totally comfortable there b/c I always felt like I'm being watched in my parents house (it's 200yrs old) and I felt like that there, too.

Anyway, I had put the kids to bed and was watching tv and laying on the couch when I felt someone come in the room. I sat up to see who was there and saw that it was a young girl from one of the portraits. I DOVE down onto the couch and covered myself with a blanket and closed my eyes.

Eventually I opened my eyes and turned EVERY light on in the house.

I have a lot of weird stuff happen but that's the only time I "saw" anything.

I saw what I believe was our family doctor in the hospital when I went in for surgery. He was kind of one of the top doctors at the place and always involved in whatever we had done. The problem was that he'd been dead for several years when I saw him. I was around 30 at the time.

My son (4) refuses to sleep in his room these days, but one night when he was, I heard him talking. It was late, so he'd been asleep. I chalked it up to talking in his sleep but he woke up about 5 minutes later and called out for me. He asked me who was talking to him in his room. I told him no one, no one was in there and all of the TVs were off. He swore there was someone who had been talking to him. Creeped me out, that's for sure.

When I think about it, I guess I've seen a bunch.

When I was very young, like 4 to 5 yrs old, a very sharply dressed man, tuxedo with tails, white bow tie, black top hat, walking cane, the whole bit, appeared to me several times at night as I was trying to get to sleep. He was very funny and happy and entertained me. I told my Noni about him and she said it was "The Sandman". (I don't think she believed me). For the longest time, I believed he was the Tooth Fairy. When other kids would talk about the tooth fairy being a female, I would say, "Not mine!" Don't know why I thought he was the tooth fairy.

About 10 or 12 years ago, my husband at the time was driving us home one night, along a winding road. My two sons were in the backseat. I noticed a man on horseback coming the opposite way, on the opposite shoulder of the road. I remember looking at him and thinking, "Hmmm...awful dark out to be horseback riding." Just then, a car came barreling down the road, right behind him. Just as it got up on him, I screamed. Everyone else in the car was like, "What??" I said, "I think that car just hit that horse and rider and kept going! Turn around, we've got to go back and check on him!" They were all like, "What horse? We didn't see anything." But, I insisted, and we turned around and went back and looked all around. No sign of anyone.

From 2002 to 2005, we lived in an old home in Louisiana that had very abundant spirit activity....too much to list here, so I'll just stick with the full body apparitions to stay on topic. We had a priest that walked by our dining room windows and toward our back door on a regular basis. At first, I thought it was a real "live" person, and would stand in the kitchen and wait for him to knock. When he never did, I'd open the back door (kitchen door) and call out, "Hello? Anyone there?" No answer. The next day, here he'd come again. I finally figured out he was a spirit. If I looked quickly enough as he was walking past the windows, he'd just kind of de-materialize right there.

Several nights, not long after we'd moved in, I was awoken by a small shadowy person, bent over my side of the bed, going, "Psssssstttt!!!" as if they were trying to quietly get my attention. And they did! I'd scream like a banshee and hubby would bolt out of the bed in mid-heart attack. I finally just made an "announcement" one day, "If you need to talk to me, that's fine. But, please do it when I'm awake. You're scaring us to death!" And the nighttime visitations stopped.

We also saw a calico "ghost" cat on an almost daily basis there.

I am soooo loving these stories!!! I have been a paranormal investigator for about 4 years!! I also am a medium and other weird stuff! pixiedust: LOL!!! I don't talk it about it much in "public". ;) So, this is right up my alley!

I have experienced all kinds of things, but since we're talking about sightings.... Usually when I see things, they are partial figures, shadows or balls of light, like Nancy's daughter saw. One full apparition I did see was when we were doing a clearing at a toy company's HQ. It wasn't a pleasant thing. The best way to describe it was like a transparent Big Foot. LOL!!! No, I'm not saying it WAS one!! It just had a big, non-descript shape, so I kept calling it big foot.....We got rid of it. :thumbsup2

I guess I did! It was on the day my dad died.....

He died in the morning, and after I finished making funeral arrangements, etc., when I got home I stopped out in the barn to get something out of the motorhome. I was sitting on the couch there, and looked out the window and there he was, looking in at me! BUT he had brown hair and looked like he was about 30 years old (he was 77 when he died, with silver hair). He was smiling and so happy and just shook his head up and down like "Yes, this is great, and I am soooo happy". Then he was gone, and I was crying like a baby.

I knew there was no way he could be outside there, but it was so real and brought me a great sense of peace. It still affects me today (boohoo :lovestruc ) - I like to think that he meant he was in heaven and all was well :cloud9:

Wow, the same type of thing happened to me. I was 14 and my favorite aunt has just passed away. My Mom and Dad went into the house and I was in the car with my sister. It was nighttime, and I was looking at the house. I saw a porch, and some wicker furniture on it. My aunt was sitting on the couch with another lady I did not recognize and a man. Both the man and woman were in old fashioned clothes and the woman had her hair pulled back into a bun. I described them to my parents, and both said that I had described my dad's parents, who had passed before I was born, and my dad said that the furniture I described was on his front porch as a kid. I felt kind of peaceful when I saw them.

Very cool stories, everyone. :goodvibes

i know at least on of the ghosts like to play with our cats.
Please elaborate, Froggy. :teeth:

Well this is a bit OT, but it did seem somewhat relevant, for me, anyway. ;)

As I mentioned in my post above, I never see or hear anything. :( But the other morning at 5:50am, I awoke to a little girl's voice that yelled "HI". It woke me out of a sound sleep and my heart was racing. I know it was not my imagination, and nothing was amiss in my room. Funny thing was, I'd been home sick while the rest of my family was out of town, so I was alone. The first thing that came to mind was that we are waiting for the birth of a little girl in our family, for some reason, she came to mind. What do you think, Diva? :scratchin

I never saw one, but I'm a fan of Ghost Hunters and the TAPS team. I've always had a curiosity about these things and fully intend to be a ghost when it's my turn. :)

I really hope that is an elective! Choice: Live in euphoria for the rest of your afterlife or return to earth as a ghost!

ooh, ooh! Let me be a ghost, and a haunting one at that! That WOULD be my euphoria! Especially if I could pick and choose who to haunt! mooowhahhahaha

That's interesting. When I thought I heard my grandmothers voice in my house there was this light that seemed to be coming from the hallway, kind of like sunlight only it wasn't coming from a window. I was only 4, but I have such clear memories of that time.

Diva - do you think people who have passed on can convey things to you in your dreams? I have these dreams about my dad & they seem so real, but maybe it's just me wanting to have them.
