Whats the longest you have waited? Have you ever just pulled out and left?

yep im the king of leaving the line. It isnt the lenth of the weight, but when they ask you to pull over then everyone is getting there food and your just sitting there, I blow up, walk in store and make then give me back money

I did once, I don't remember how long I waited though. I know it was back in the days of college. I was sitting in line at Burger King and it was taking forever and ever, so I just left.

I once waiting for close to 5 minutes for someone to take my order. There was no one in front of me or behind me. I eventually pulled through, parked and went into the store. They took my order and it was all free.

I dont' bother with drive thrus. It's been shown through multiple trials that it saves no time over parking and going in.

Longest I waited was about 45 minutes for In n Out Burger. I was pregnant with DS #1. There was no way I was leaving that line. I wanted my burger and by golly I got my burger!!!!!!! :cool1:

I waited almost 30 minutes in a Starbucks drive-through line last year just to get a pumpkin latte. I was stuck between cars and had curbs on either side so it was impossible to just leave. There was an employee standing outside with a clipboard and he kept looking at his watch. I figured at least they knew they were taking forever. When I got to the window, they told me my latte was free because the wait was so long. That made it a little better.

This evening I went to a Fast Food place, drove right up to the speaker, placed my order and drove forward. There was a minivan just pulling up to the window. After a couple minutes they got the money and handed about 8 drinks to the van. Then waited 2, 3, 5, 7, 8..it didnt look like they were going to get their food anytime soon.

So I pulled out and started to leave..at the point the mgr opened the drive through window and started screaming and cussing at me for leaving. I dont get why? One my food couldnt have been made cause they were still working on the first order. Now if i my food was made, it meant it was sitting there while working on the first order, in that case I would have made them remake it anyway.

Funny you mention that, I waited 40 minutes in line for Popeyes because I wanted their biscuits and spicy chicken. People were leaving but I stayed. Best meal I had while pregnant. :)

Most places they start working on your food as soon as you order it. So your food probably was almost done.

I've not driven off before but I've come really close!

Well I ordered a simple sandwich, no way it takes 8 min(the length I had waited at that point) or so to make. If they started making it when I ordered it, it was prob done a min or so afterwards which means it would have been sitting there while they worked on the first order. Again not acceptable to me.

I was horrified to notice that one McDonalds, one Burger King and one Carls Junior I frequent now have a reserved parking spot at the end of drive thru marked "Reserved for customers waiting for drive thru orders" :scared1:
Those are the only ones that I have seen so far.

They all have that here besides rally's. I'm fine with pulling up but McDonald's (which we don't frequent) has two parking spots as well. They asked me once to pull over there and I refused and sat at the window.

Nothing like indulging in you pregnancy cravings. So yummy!!!!! :yay:

Just this week we were in Myrtle Beach and had some drive through issues. We did pull out of a Mickey D's drive through one afternoon because the line wasn't moving at ALL. We were just after a drink for DH - he had just finished a round of golf - so we went to a Steak and Shake that had no line. We were immediately greeted at the speaker but were asked to wait. So we waited. And waited. I watched the clock and it was 4 minutes in and still no one returned to take the order. I finally said to the speaker box 'can I just order at the window?' to try and get someone's attention and they immediately were able to take it. Makes you wonder what they were doing!

2 cars had pulled up behind me and left before I ever ordered.

I actually am glad to see reserved areas for people to wait. It drives me crazy to have to wait for my iced tea because the person in front of me ordered enough happy meals for a kindergarten class. My local Mickey D's has even brought me my drink at the pay window and let me pull out, which I think is nice when there are large orders in front of me still waiting.

not drive thru but i waited around 40 mins once for some Long John Silver... Why i waited was beyond me...

the next longest wait was 20 mins... @ Rallys. I asked and apparently it takes that long for a hot dog... :\ i was at the windows instead of drive thru and like more than 15 cars got through the drive though before i got my hot dog... :\

And messed up their timing on every order after yours.

I left the line at McDonald's once. Sat for 20 minutes without moving. They now have a guy with an iPad taking orders outside when things get busy.

Thats not the case in my area. On several occasions i'd go into the store instead of the drive thru, and i'd wait much longer. The last car at the drivethru had gone and left ages ago before i got served, on several occasions. Because theyre quicker in the driver thru, i just use that.

Yes, I have. Several times. I have probably wanted 15 minutes tops. I must have been really hungry to wait that long.
