Awww hon, don't worry about being shy. There's a lady here on the DIS who went to her first DIS meet and watched it from afar, never getting brave enough to join in the meet personally!
Very touching story and I love this lady like a sister. Sometimes our shyness is what makes us human!

I've had nothing but pleasant experiences as well, but not everyone was as they appear online. The internet is a shield for some people, I think -- it makes them bolder, or more opinionated -- when you meet them in real life they tend to be a little more (or in some cases a lot more) reserved.

I went to a Dis meet once and the people were close to what I thought they'd be like. One I became sort of real life friends with because she vacations here every year and we have a lot in common. Hi Ranatra!

I have met a good number of people from the internet over the years and after getting to know them via e-mail (how I used to do it long before the DIS) to meet them was just an extention of what we wrote about. I'd say most I met were pretty much what I thought of them from their writings... and I have to admit I have some wonderful friends from the internet

I've been to one DISmeet, and met a bunch of DISers, and they were all wonderfully friendly and very nice. My DH and I had a great time. I will be meeting a few more DISers this coming Sunday evening at WDW, as we're sharing an Illuminations cruise. I can't wait, it's going to be so much fun!

OMG, now that you mention it, you're right, except with shorter hair!

I've only met a few, one hasn't posted on the DIS for several years now.

The other three, PandyPaws, Nativetxn and MaryAnnDVC were all just like they are on the boards, very sweet! I met Donna and Katholyn at the Dolphin, and I met Mare and her family at Epcot one night. We talked for a very long time and our families watched Illuminations together. Then we stayed and talked some more and realized that we were the only ones left except for some cleaning people!

I have only met 2 DIS'ers ChellnJr, and RickInNYC .
They were as nice as they are on here . Michelle is the sweatest person and we are friends on here and off now. Rick is very GOOD LOOKING and so was his Husband LOL not a shocker there

I also met my husband on AOL. We have been married for 5 years .

I've met quite a few DIS'ers, I've been to at least 3 DIS meets and Riddlecon last summer. No really big surprises. Everyone was pretty much as I expected.
