Have you ever had a waitlist NOT come through?

Our wait list just came through today! We are heading down on 11/29 - 12/6. We had 5 night 1BR BWV (Boardwalk view) and had a cash ressie (garden view) for the 6th night, then 7th night on points but garden view. Called yesterday morning as soon as MS opened and was able to get the cash ressie moved to point and BW view, then called this morning and was able to get the last night! Now we won't have to switch rooms! Vacation can't come soon enough!!

We have had 3 nights of a BW view 1 bedroom waitlist not clear, even though we were on it for 11 months minus 7 days. We stayed in a standard view instead. I am currently on the waitlist again for a BW view room for one night (of course right in the middle of our stay) and it has been almost 10 months. We have a preferred view booked for that one night.

We have been owners since 2000 and every time we have waitlisted it has come through. Most recently we were waitlisted for one night 1/1/09 in the middle of our stay and that too came through! We are soooo happy that we don't have to move for the whole stay! Too bad there isn't a thread so we could all trade ressies for the ones we really want when we are forced to settle for what is open. hmmm........ rearrange ressies amoungst yourselves...

Since I've only begun the waitlist this month, I'm guessing that my waitlist for OKW studio for Dec. 7,8 may not come through. I haven't even been able to book an ADR for 1 person for those nights!!! I'm staying at Pop but really really hope to get the OKW studio. If anyone has Pixie Dust to spare, I could use some!!!

Started to type a response about our April waitlist (we were waitlisted just for the very first day) and decided to check on it and lo and behold it came through. I think this may be a good luck thread!:thumbsup2

I am a little confused at the way it is listed. Showing as two separate reservations. We won't have to change rooms will we?

As long as the rooms are the same type, MS can link them so you will not have to move. Even if they are linked you cannot tell it on the member website. Although the linking is usually done automatically by MS, I would call just to make sure. Congratulations!

When I've used points from different home resorts for different days, the reservations couldn't be combined, so they showed up separately. They were linked and we didn't have to move.

The next time you call in, just check to make sure that they have linked them. They are usually very good about that. Don't call this am.....I was on hold for 15 mins and now again for 10. Busy, busy, busy.

BUT the waiting paid off on this call. The last waitlist I had for 11/30 was to move to a dedicated so that we wouldn't have to move the last night of our stay. When she checked.........there it was just waiting for me. If I had not called, someone else would have picked it up and by the time the waitlists reset it would have been gone. It really pays to call every day. I have found that calling in the 9:30-10am range really works. That's when folks have called in and made changes and you can pick up those changes.

I now have 4 reservations linked. We're leaving at 10am and I haven't packed a thing. :surfweb: Still on hold with DVC to check on Magical Express for one of my daughters. Then I have to get serious or I'm going to be up all night. (My DD9 has a hockey tournament tonight in RI.....help me!:scared: )

Yea! 3 years in a row! Been trying to get into the BWV for 3 years now (am at the BCV, just want a change of scenery) and have yet had any luck! I call 6am sharp on the 7 month mark, and have never been able to get it.
Maybe I need some pixie dust thrown around on me or something.

Ok, have been waitlisted for AKV or VWL since 7 month mark at least. We booked studio at SSR at 11 month mark so we would have somewhere to stay. Dec 7-13th. Just checked account and it hasn't come thru! :-( First time using waitlist feature. Has anyone had success in getting into these resorts if you don't own there in December? I would have thought something would have come thru earlier in the year.

We own at AKV and I went to book a studio for December 1 - 12 on January 31 and had to waitlist for 4, 7, 8 and 9. Finally only 2 days ago December 7 the final day came through, I never thought it would, the others came in April and June.

Thanks for the reply...I guess the only way you actually get into the smaller resorts during demand time is to own at them..... Good thing we just got our contract for our add on at AKV!:cloud9:

Have to do some planning to figure out the rest of our 2009 vacations!

Thanks everyone. I dropped off an email to MS this morning and they got back to me this afternoon.

Thank you for contacting Member Services.

You have two reservations because when the waitlist match it creates a
new reservation number for that night. As the two reservations are for
same resort and studio accommodation, we link them so you will remain in
same room for the entire stay.

A new confirmation was sent in the mail after we linked them.

Have a Disney Day.

Got out from under my terrible mortgage and got my DVC waitlist, it's been a good day.:woohoo:

No, We were even able to upgrade to a bigger room the morning after check-in. We had checked real late, never unpacked, stored our baggage first thing in the morning, then settled in after enjoying Disney

Up till now I've been 100% with waitlists coming through. This spring, however, it'll be a different situation since we are staying at HHI. The Tuesday smack dab in the middle of our trip is unavailable, and it being Hilton Head, my only option was to use my Marriott Rewards point to reserve something for that night.

Fortunately, I can cancel the Marriott (in this case a Residence in two bedroom suite) room up till 6pm the day of check-in without penalty. I should know my waitlist fate well before that.

We have only wait-listed once, for this trip we are about to go on and we did not get our wait-list.

We have a 1-Bdrm reserved but another family member decided to come with us in June (almost 6 months ahead of our vacation). Just to make it more comfortable we asked about a 2-Bdrm instead of a 1 but no luck.

We listed at every DVC on property resort for the length of our stay but we did not want to do split stays in multiple rooms. Regretfully our waitlist was a no go.

My current waitlist is my second time using the waitlist and my guess is that 2 days of the waitlist won't come through. The 7 day point is Sunday and so far no luck for 2 nights. I was able to get a backup reservation at SSR so this just means that I will have to move twice instead of once.

My first use of the waitlist was very successful. I waitlisted for a concierge view studio at AKV at about the 10 month mark and the waitlist came through in less than a month.
