Have you ever had a phone call change who you were connected to mid call?

Today I was calling my Dr office and listening to the mundale blah blah blah about the facility then the phone got staticy & next thing I knew I was in a call to a scam. The scam number I was switched to mid call was one of those messages you get when you call a common number but misdial. All I could think is, what just happened? Anyone else ever have this happen?

Only once, when I was a kid and my grandparents had a party line phone. A squirrel nibbled on the line and wreaked havoc on everyone connected to the line until it was fixed.

Only on a cell phone did I have another call bleed into my call. Although, THEY could not hear me, I could only HEAR them.

I have never had anything like that happen on my cellphone. Back in the days of landlines, I do remember picking it up to make call and two people were having a conversation already (I have no idea who they were). It was not one of the old "party lines", it was our regular house phone

I wonder if someone/something was trying to transfer you and hit a wrong number.

We used to have our neighbors’ calls come on our line when they used their wireless home phones as an intercom. Remember home land lines?

No, I was still stuck in the automated pre-recorded part then, mid blah blah blah, the phone got staticy and crackly and I ended up with another, completely different, automated pre-recorded blah blah blah.

My phone has been super weird for years. The camera turns on by itself to the point I have stickers over the lenses and only take them off when I need them. I once had it engage Apple Pay on its own, I do not have Apple Pay linked to anything though.

Think I just need a new one, which stinks because I hate new things :/

Yea, sounds like an issue with your phone. Depending on the age of the phone, can you simply get the same model?

Still my main means of communication. I don't give out my cell phone number, that is only for me to make calls when I am out and about and have an emergency. Everyone else can call my landline, and if I am out and about, leave a message on my answering machine. All old technology, but it never lets me down.
