I've always kind of wanted to go skydiving, and lately, I've been thinking more and more about actually doing it. I'd like to hear from some people that have done it, if possible.

I'm a little nervous that I'd become frozen with fear and wouldn't be able to jump, but I'd like to think that when push came to shove (hopefully not literally!), I would jump.

So who's done it, and how did you like it? :upsidedow

DH and I did it together for his 30th birthday. It was great!!! We both jumped tandem (where the instructor is strapped behind you) and then they had 2 guys with video cameras jump with us, to take video and pictures.

No worries about chickening out b/c there are no refunds if you don't jump!! LOL!!! It was $350 each, so we weren't about to lose that money! Ha ha!!

Definitely do it! It's one of those once in a lifetime experiences. Make sure you get the video too, totally worth it!!!

I've been skydiving several times. I LOVE it. I would go more often but it's not cheap. I've always gone by myself as I could never talk anyone else into going but skydiving people are super nice. The first time I went was tandem. It really is a surreal experience. When they opened up the door to the plane it almost felt like a dream. It also doesn't feel like you fall for very long before you're pulling the cord for the parachute. I recommend paying the $$ to have it videotaped. I still watch it often as they add a lot of extra stuff to the video (like people dancing, doing flips, etc.). I really wasn't afraid as I felt totally safe and you never get the falling sensation. When you first get out of the plane it seems as though the plane is falling and you're just floating, it's hard to explain. The guy I was strapped to (and had spent pretty much the entire two days with as the day before I had driven out [it's about an hour and a half drive from where I live] and it looked like it was going to storm off and on so we sat around waiting it out and I had to come back) asked me out as we were coming down lol. We dated for awhile (which led to a lot of free jumps :) ) and it was always a lot of fun and I never really felt in danger. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

BTW, he said he's never not had anyone jump. Believe me, after spending 5-10 minutes on my knees in that tiny metal plane crammed full of people I was ready to get out of there! He didn't really give me the option of jumping or not jumping. We walked (crawled) to the opening, he quickly counted down from 3, and we rolled forward. There's no "Are you ready? Are you sure?".

I skydived about 8 years ago now? I LOVED it! It is something you should def. do if you have the opportunity! It's just amazing & words can't describe it. You have to try it for yourself!!!

Doing a tandem jump makes it incredibly difficult to change your mind & not jump! Your feet are barely on the floor being strapped to the instructor (unless he's really short I guess). By the time I got to the door, I was just awestruck. There was zero fear in my mind at that point. Now on the plane ride up was a different story, I was nervous!

Oh, yeah and it was a blast!:scared1:

I taught this lady how to swim. She skydived but was terrified of water and there is a lot around here. In exchange, she took me skydiving for my 47th birthday.

We went from a small airport in the area. I got to watch the jumpers go up, float down, go again & then go repack their chutes. Talk about trust!

When it was our turn, I got fitted for a jumpsuit, harness, helmet & goggles. Thenthe jump masters come check you out, making everything is secure. They actually held me off the ground by the harness to make sure I stayed in it.

Then a brief lecture on what is going to happen. The plane comes in, you get on and sit real close to your jump master. He (there were girls as well, but I had a guy) hooks you to him, while you are sitting in between his legs on this long bench. When it is time, you scoot with him to the door, kneel down and he rolls out with you. You may get asked if you saw the plane when you are down, but don't count on it. My friend says it takes a few jumps to do so. You rocket down in a prone position with your knees bent. It is so quiet except the rush of air. They let me pull the rip cord, but he had to help. You float down so gently after that, in a standing position.

It was great, such a long plunge that passed pretty quickly. The cost was high, but even higher to take the lessons and be able to jump on your own. After we slid into the ground, I really wanted to go again.

My best memory of it all was watching my kids as the plane took off. They were 8 & 5 at the time. My dd looked so happy & then kinda stunned as she watched mommie go off without her. And then their rush to mom after I got down, so excited that I had done that!

I went skydiving for the first time this past September..I was SO nervous but I absolutely loved it. I went with a group of people, including my brother. He and I have talked about skydiving for so long and we finally had the opportunity to go.

As others said, since I was strapped to an instructor, I didnt have the chance to say no. The plane ride up was when I got really nervous but it was absolutely amazing. I would definitely suggest getting the video!

As soon as it gets warm out, my brother and I are going jumping again!
