Have you ever felt that you wanted to live completely alone

No.

Two pugs, one 13 month old and a wife is way better than living alone for me.

I LOVE living alone. I lived with my dad for almost 10 years until he died last December. I miss him very much. But boy do I love not having that layer of grease all over the kitchen from his constant frying.

I also love having totally clear countertops. Maybe a toaster out - but that's about it. My dad on the other hand kept EVERYTHING out - plates, silverware, etc.

And he watched the Western channels all day long. I was so tired of Maverick,Roy Rogers, Gene Autry,Gunsmoke, etc.

I have three men that I am seeing right now. I have NO desire to settle down with one of them.

Shoot, sometimes I wish I could run away and join the circus at age 42 just to get away. :rotfl2:

You go girl. At least you are honest. I am 42, but have no desire to move in with my friend or have him move in with me. I have a dd12 and DM that is with me, so my responsiblty plate is full.

I know I don't really want to be alone. But i do love the idea of being the old lady by the post office for a few hours every day. I have never lived alone. I lived with my family, then I had an apartment but with many roommates, then I lived with dh and we got married and had kids. It's a control thing. I want my house to stay the way I want it for awhile. I was sick for three days but people were coming and going all of the time. When my kids were in school if I was home sick I could get them out the door, lay on the couch with no noise and watch daytime tv. I would make myself some tea and put my cup in the dishwasher. If I was really sick when dh came home there'd be a couple cups and a bag of trash near me for him to just get rid of.
My college kids all get good grades, work full time, pay their little bills and aren't out being crazy, too much. But they don't seem to recognize a clean space. Now my sons do make sure things are very nice when they have a girl coming over. But that definitely involves shoving everything into their closet in their room.

I'll take all of them!
We have empty nest our only, left for Japan in June 09. We just got back a couple of weeks ago from our 3rd visit to Japan to see him.
We have such an empty nest, it's not all it cracked up to be. DH and I enjoy being together, but it always feels like somethings missing. Oh ya, it's those things you are talking about, that's what's missing...LOL

DS misses my home cooked healthy meals, laundry service, cleaning service and mostly someone to wake up at 2am when he's not feeling well. The funny thing is I miss doing all that for him... Just breaks my heart
You are so lucky to still have your kids close!
