Holy moly!!!!! a couple hours ago, I was putting the plate in the dishwasher, it slipped and landed on my toe, my big toe. the indention of the plate is still showing on my skin.

but I can walk on it, but good grief. trying to get the swelling down as well.

just call me Grace-not :rotfl2:

I once dropped one of the lids to my Calphon pots on the top of my foot. Wowza did that ever hurt. It also hurt to walk, to wear shoes, to take a shower, to ...

Feel better soon.:thumbsup2

Thanks i am such a klutz, but at least this was the big toe that I hadn't broken yet unlike my other one, twice.lol.

plus I broke the dang plate.

Oh ouch! A few weeks ago my daughter was putting away dishes barefoot and dropped one of my heavy Coke classes on her big toe. These things are about half-inch thick green glass. They've been dropped several times and there is not so much as a tiny chip in any of them: they are STURDY! It bruised under her nail really badly, and we were pretty sure she'd ultimately lose the nail. She hasn't, and the nasty bruising is slowly going away, but it really hurt her for quite awhile.

Of course, being the really nice person I am...I told her this is one of the reasons why I don't work in the kitchen (or anywhere else) barefoot. :rolleyes1

Dropped a bookcase on my toes, that was so painful and I hadn't got any shoes on either.

:lmao:

But I love going barefoot, that' s how I roll:rotfl2: but I could be in a goalie uniform I think and still mess myself up:rotfl2:

freaky thing is, if I injure something, I go for a repeat performance: broken same toe twice, sprained my right ankle twice very close together that even the doctor thought I fractured it the second time. my left knee i have jacked up twice to where I know I will have to have it replaced later on. and my left pinky, dislocated, broke. I have a scar near my eyebrow where I on 2 occassions when I was small hit the corner of a coffee table.

Youch. I dropped a table on my sandaled-toe. Nail came off right then and there, no waiting at all. Grew back in, but weird. Hurts when the weather gets too cold. Sigh.

OP, I don't go for the same exact injured site for another round...but I go for the matching set. Pulled both peroneous longus tendons in college...got one, healed up, went out for another run, got the other. At 11 I lost the nail (and a few millimeters of the end of the finger) on a finger...so of course at 27 I had to do the same thing to the toe as described above. I've cracked one tiny hand bone, and one tiny foot bone, opposite sides of the body.

:headache:

Oh man, bummer. LOL

My kids and I go around and around about the shoe thing. My father absolutely NEVER goes barefoot, and I pretty much picked that up from him. I very rarely have my shoes off if I'm not in the shower or in bed. My kids take their shoes off the second they walk in the door. Doesn't have to be OUR door, either. Whenever we go to someone else's house we end up having to search for my son's shoes so we can leave. They at least keep them on at school, so I guess I should be grateful for that. I just like to give them a hard time about not wearing shoes. And of course, the real fact of the matter is that since she doesn't happen to own steel-toed shoes, that glass was going to hurt even if she did have shoes on. Probably not as badly, but it was still going to smart. I'm just evil so I had to say "See, if you'd had your shoes on...." ;)

I am up to 4 broken toes now. Last week I stood on a piece of glass thought I had got it out but missed a bit, managed to get that out though. My mother keeps going on about wearing shoes but here I am barefoot again I hate wearing shoes and they come of as soon as I get out of the car.

i've never dropped a plate on my toe or foot, but i once dropped a full jar of mayonnaise on my foot and fractured it. man, that hurt.

I've broken every toe...over a lifetime. I have some funky toes. I just broke one Sunday night walking into a parking lot car stop block. I hit my big toe square on in the dark, and broke it.
Hurt like hell. Most of my others were catching toes on door edges, bed frames, etc.

Not a plate, but i once dropped a pair of heavy shears point down on my big toe. Split the nail in half right at the cuticle. OMG. The pain...unbelieveable. I was a new nurse at the time and I couldn't take any time off. I couldn't get a shoe on my foot, so i had to bind it up the best i could and hope nobody accidently stepped on it. That was about 32 years ago. Today i would know better--but back then I just toughed it out.

I've actually broken my big toe on my right foot twice. The first time was in 2003 (7th grade). I opened a cabinet in our kitchen and a cast iron skillet fell out, landed on my toe/foot from the top cabinet and broke it. I was in a boot and on crutches for about a month.

Fast foward to ninth grade (2005). I was collecting firewood and dropped a huge log on the same toe, same story...boot and crutches. Not fun.

Not a plate, but I once dropped a can on my foot, broke some bones, and didn't even know it until I went for a physical six months later. The doctor looked me up and down and said, what did you do to your foot?". I wasn't limping and it didn't hurt :confused3

Toes? I've dislocated four on each foot several times, not by dropping anything on them but by walking into things. The first time, I went to the doctor; every time since then, I just tape 'em up myself and hobble on :teeth:

Haven't dropped anything on my feet, but this morning, I did hit my forehead on the towel bar when bending over to lift the toilet lid...:rolleyes1

Not a plate, not my Big toe, but I just dropped my kitchen aid hand mixer on my third toe, left foot!! Yikes!!! I cried it hurt so bad. Definately broke it! It's all black and blue and it still hurts after a week!! I know your pain!!

Awww, I hope you feel better. I was once in a rush to get to my kids and ran over my big toe with a shopping cart, it looked like a cartoon toe by the time it was done swelling & changing colors.
