Have you ever done an interfaith (part jewish) ceremony?

Hey Suzy!

Rabbi Allen just doesn't know how great a Disney wedding (and Disney in general) is! I do agree though; since he's performing interfaith ceremonies anyway, he should be more open-minded than the average officiant. Oh well, just slip these on :cool2: and forget about him! LOL

The ketubah is BEAUTIFUL! If you really want to incorporate the "I am my beloveds and my beloved is mine", there's some ketubahs that have the saying incorporated into the artwork itself (it is in Hebrew though; I don't know if that makes a difference to you and your DF) here. It's very "frou-frou" but there's other styles too!

I can't wait to read more about your plans! I'm so excited for you!

Hi Maria,

can you read hebrew? I used to be able to when I was younger, but never without the vowels. I wondered if the "I am my beloved" is already written into the ketubah i chose. On the very bottom of it-where the hebrew is incorporated into the artwork-do you know what that says? Arent I a great jew? My old hebrew school teacher would be so proud of me haha.

DF does like the hebrew by the way, he says it makes it more private :)

You know, you would think I would still be able to read Hebrew pretty well since I just finished the conversion process, right? Sadly, my Hebrew is mediocre at best, horrifying at worst LOL. When I'm at Shabbat services, I completely rely on the transliterated verses on the side of the siddur (prayer book) :rotfl:

^ That's what the Hebrew spelling of the "I am my beloved's" verse looks like. You can always use it for reference! :rotfl:

you would think someone who wants to share in the joy of others' unions would be more sensitive as to where they choose to say their vows and commit to each other forever.

Well said Maria!

he isnt familiar with WDW weddings and thought we were gonna set up camp outside It's a Small World or something

Or maybe have everyone dress up as a character from It's a Small World? :lmao: Seriously, I crack myself up.

I'm glad the book suggestions\links were helpful.

The ketubah you posted is lovely! Any word from DF on it?

I wondered if the "I am my beloved" is already written into the ketubah i chose.

My Hebrew isn't great, but I don't see it in the larger text at the bottom left and bottom right. And it shouldn't be in the smaller, central text. Look for script with Hebrew that transliterates into: Ani L'Dodi, v'Dodi Li. I am going to attempt to cut/paste in the Hebrew but I have no idea how it will look on a message board: אֲנִי לְדוֹדִי וְדוֹדִי לִי

Keep us updated!

Oooooh...I like Maria's sample of Ani l'Dodi, v'Dodi li much better than I pounded out on the keyboard in my previous post. :rotfl2:

Ok, Rabbi Allen emailed me back and apologized. He said he wasn't aware that WDW did wedding packages. It was nice he apologized, but the abrupt comment did bother me. DF thought it was rude as well.

We got a tip about a man named Rabbi Lefkowitz (sp?), but I'm not yet sure if he will perform an interfaith ceremony.

DF thinks the ketubah picked out is really nice! I'm just in love with it. :lovestruc I'm gonna see if I can just get the "beloved" quote worked into the text.

**Does anyone know what the hebrew at the bottom corners (part of the artwork) translates into?
