Have you ever cried at hearing the news of the death of someone famous/a celebrity?

I haven't myself...been sad for a while, but never shed any tears.

Not hearing of the death, but a couple times after the fact when hearing the family members talk. Most recently, Steve Irwin.

I'm not a crier, but was definitely moved to tears when watching endless coverage of the deaths of Princess Diana and JFK Jr.. Those deaths were quite tragic and unexpected and they were so young. As the PP said, Steve Irwin was another one that was shocking and sad.

When John Denver died, I cried quite a bit. I was a huge fan and had just had the chance to meet him a few months before.

I still get teary-eyed when I listen to his music.

I think it hits us harder too when they are either much younger or close to our age too.

John Ritter and Steve Irwin's deaths were veryn upsetting to me. not to the point of tears, but just upsetting.

I cried when Di passed(I was 20) and even down to this day when I see old stuff on her death and how it affected so many. She was just sooo young and I felt so bad for her lovely boys.

I know no one else will probably get this but in my community The Notorius B.I.G.'s death was a huge loss to so many who loved him and his music.

Heath Ledger was another one where I was deeply moved.

I forgot about Michael Landon - I was just getting teary about him a few weeks ago as I was telling my daughter about how I was going to marry Charles Ingalls when I grew up...

And Elvis - he was the first I ever cried for. I was in 2nd grade and bawled all day..

The only time I can remember shedding actual tears was when Bob Denver died. He was older so it wasn't a complete shock, but I was still really sad to hear he was gone. I adored him when I was a kid.

Jeff Buckley and Steve Clark(Def Leppard) both died young and unexpectedly and I was upset about both for some time. But I don't think cried over either.
