Have You Ever Been To Magic Kingdom And Not Been On A Ride?

We were watching our Disney World video last night and when it came to the part with BTMRR I asked my niece if she rode it while she was there. NOPE. She went with her dad, and the three kids. They paid around $200 to get into the park and they didn't ride on a single ride! My ex-BIL didn't want to wait in line for anything. Can you imagine taking three children to MK and not letting them ride on a single ride? It was a once in a lifetime trip for them. I don't think they've ever taken a vacation before.

I've decided that I need to remedy it and take my niece to WDW with us next time.

No

is the answer to your question!!!!!

Those poor kids, what a day they must have had.

I'm sur e your neice will love it with you.

My x-BIL is well, um, let's just say that I don't miss the guy since he's out of the family :) They went in the middle of the summer so I'm sure it was busy, but no rides? They only thing they got to see was the Bear show. I told my DH that, and he HATES that show.

Wow, I can't imagine going to MK and not going on at least one ride! Your poor niece.

In answer to your question though, I've never been to MK and not done at least a few rides.

I can't even imagine not letting the children ride. What a jerk!

How great that you are taking your niece. I did go to Epcot one afternoon on our last trip and just walked around World Showcase. But we had been at the park on 3 other days and did lots of rides. My kids also were young enough that they weren't asking to go on rides. They enjoyed the Kidcot stations that afternoon.

Yeah, but there aren't too many rides at Epcot World Showcase. What is there to do in MK BESIDES attractions??? NOTHING but shop! He didn't buy them much either. I think they came home with one outfit and a hat or something.

I have many times. Me and my lil bro (we are 17 and 16) have gone so many times that sometimes we like to just go for the atmosphere and food. We are content just walking around or just sitting and watchin people. That is just how we enjoy things.

Once on our last trip ... we just went in to pick up some pictures :p

I've been to a couple of the parks before and not ridden anything but it's only because I've been so many times and just wanted to enjoy the atmosphere, take in shows, take pictures, see characters, etc. I can't imagine taking children to the Magic Kingdom and not letting them ride anything, that's just wrong.

I go to the parks many times and don't ride the rides. I like to people watch and take photos.

If I had kids with me that would be different. That is what I love about WDW that there is something for everyone whether you choose to ride or not.

Yes, but just once this past Feb. The only reason I didn't ride was b/c of morning sickness problems of early pregnancy. We were touring with two family friends of ours and I wanted to be there for them and to see them and DH & DD enjoy the rides. I had a fine time walking around, talking with everybody and sitting on a bench and people watching while the others were on rides.

However since I have an AP and have been quite a few times before it was no big deal not to ride. But those poor children of your ex-BIL not to go on any rides and be at the MK for the first and maybe only time!!! That is just awful. I guess he didn't understand or want any part of Fastpass. I hope you really can take your neice and show her what the MK is really about! ::MinnieMo

My almost 6 yr old dd loves going to WDW. We go a few times a year but she hates rides.

The only 1 ride she will go on in MK is Small World and of course it's now down for refurbishment. Last WDW visit we didn't even go to MK. She'd rather take in the shows at MGM and EPCOT and see the characters.

BUT, it's another story if the kids want to go on the rides and the parents don't let them, at all.

That's sad...who in the world would pay money to get into an awesome park like MK and not ride a single thing???

My DHs brother.who can be a horse's behind took his family to WDW and never himself went in anything. He went in summer too, right around 4th of July if l remember to MK.His ex wife and the kids went in and out of a few shows, the stores and I think they rode the train in MK, but that is about it!!

Talk to him now.he is an expert and tells everyone there is nothing there, nothing but overpriced stores and eating places, and he has no idea why we would want to go so often. Might as well just go to the mall he says, it is as much fun as that place...

Unless I just so happen to be at the parks in a full body cast, I will be on the rides. However, I also must do the shows, parades, shops, etc. When people that I know tell me that they didn't like Disney  I ask them about certain rides. The response I get is that they didn't ride them because the lines were too long. My response to them is "How do you know you don't like Disney if you didn't experience what Disney has to offer?"

Yes, I've been and not ridden a thing. My now deceased ex husband and I would go in to get him turkey legs for dinner and to just hang out and take in the atmosphere..it's sooo beautiful in the MK in the evening!!! it was our slice of heaven.

Christmas day 2002. We went to MK just to see how nutty it was on that day. We've been to WDW many times(usually off season)
and we have APs so it was not like wasting a ticket. We are getting to the point where there are no "critical" rides. We just like to be at WDW to soak up the atmosphere/shop/eat/chill. We do some rides, but we don't get worked up over any of them.:earsboy:

We have AP's and have visited so many times that sometimes we go to a park and not ride anything. However, when our DD7 goes with us to MK, we ride at least one time... I cannot go to MK with a child and not do at least one ride. Epcot and AK we can go without riding anything because we like to walk the parks, but MK???? NO WAY, especially with a child.. and we visit 6-7 times a year!

But if my DH and I go by ourselves (we leave DD7 with grandparents who spoil her silly and live in Orlando) to get some "quality" time alone, we will go to soak up the atmosphere and to enjoy walking hand in hand in the middle of the magic.
