It is my Birthday today and I was told by a co-worker/ supervisor that I have hit the age (46) where I really need to start to grow up about my Disney fixation.

I told him that I really peaked as far as maturity at age 35 and was in the regression mode for aging now so I am supposed to get more excited about it now then last year. With that I whistleing the Mickey Mouse club march and marched around the corner

I am still waiting for the nice men in the white coats to show up :teeth:

Have you been told to grow up about Disney?

There's nothing wrong with that. I intend to be exactly like that at the age of 46.

And yes, I've been told many a time that I need to grow up and get over the whole Disney thing. I always laugh.

Not in so many words, but I have heard MANY people say that any kid over about 8 years old is "too old" for Disney! WHAT??

:rotfl2: no way! My boss goes to Disney more than me! His wife is a travel agent and they go at least twice a year! Plus most people that say these things HAVE NEVER BEEN TO WDW! I will never be too grown up or too old to enjoy Disney.

My ex-boyfriend used to tell me that all the time!!! And I'm only 22! Gee, wonder why he's an ex :rotfl:

Why "Grow up"? Growing up is over rated :) Besides, Disney keeps us young.
In the words of Jimmy Buffett.."I'm growing older but not up.."

Occationally I do. Mostly when I am singing or whistling some Disney tunes. It doen not help that I am a big burley guy who works in a prison.

Well first of all.......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY :yay:

And secondly, you don't have a justify anything to anyone.....as long as you're happy that's all that counts :goodvibes

Peter Pan would be disappointed in that co-worker. ;)

"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
Not me,
Not I,
Not me!
So there!
Never gonna be a man,
I won't!
Like to see somebody try
And make me.
Anyone who wants to try
And make me turn into a man,
Catch me if you can.
I won't grow up.
Not a penny will I pinch.
I will never grow a mustache,
Or a fraction of an inch.
'Cause growing up is awfuller
Than all the awful things that ever were.
I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up,
No sir,
Not I,
Not me,
So there!"

~Peter Pan

Happy Birthday to both of you :) :cake: :bday:

My Disney Fixation grows stronger every year! If I live to be 100, I'll still be searching for Hidden Mickeys and humming Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah!

You can never be too old for Disney. Never.

One more thing: My MIL has lived in FL for a part of her life, but she's never been to Disney. She is 82 years old and lives in a nursing home. She had a massive stroke in '04 and cannot do most activities by herself. Her mind has slipped a lot since the stroke, too. About a year ago, she started taking a sudden interest in Mickey Mouse. When we visit, I try to bring her something with Mickey on it. Her favorite thing is her Mickey blanket that we gave her for Christmas. Even though she's never been to WDW, Disney pixie dust and magic still reaches her in the nursing home and brings a smile to her face. THAT is what Disney is about--bringing a smile to your face and warming your heart.

Happy Birthday! I hope your day is loaded with pixiedust:

Great now I have that song stuck in my head! :rotfl:

Happy birthday :dance3: Tell your co-worker/supervisor that you really appreciate his opinion and you will make certain to file it under "I don't give a crap" :teeth:

People seem to take themselevs so seriously once they started acting, "like adults." You'll live longer anyway. No skin off your back.

Maybe they should give having fun and letting go of their image/ego a try sometime. Might do wonders for that stick up their a...whoops!
